I did lamb yesterday for our friends who are staying - slow cooked over water - was really tender. I know yours is shoulder hurt would suggest cooking the same way?
It was delicious thank you! Despite Dd1 saying the rice was too spicy (it was) and the lamb was dry (it absolutely was not) and dd2 saying the rice was plain (see previous comment). Matt and I though it was yummy!
Oh wow Tweets that looks lovely. I like the colour of the carpet and the floor looks good too.You must be so pleased now it's all finished and can now enjoy it. Rosie longlegs looks happy. What's next on the cards?

Are we allowed to talk about the goverment removing the winter fuel allowance for pensioners not a pension credit or am I skirting into politics?
Please remove if so.
Just I know a lot of pensioners who will be disappointed as they use the money on their families for Xmas
Well typical i retired and wont be getting it wonder if we will get the £10 or if thats gone as well.
It was always coming, and that is just the start. They are saying they did not know the books were that bad. They did, the books have been open for 14 years.

So politics is ok, as long as we are bashing Labour??
Let’s stop there shall we please. No politics, any reported posts will be removed so don’t waste your time. Everyone should know the forum policy on this.

tweets, your finished hall and stairs look absolutely great. I love the colour contrast between walls and flooring, it all looks very classy. Your home with all the new bits is really coming into shape now so enjoy it!
You can check the prices after the auction day and see how much over estimate they go. I have subscribed for years in the hope of a good local doer upper. Not found one. User name is clue to my area. Happy hunting. Do check out the one on Southampton. Any one we knew? (hoarders house www.barnardmarcusauctions.co.uk/auctions/30-july-2024/542564/)
Can I put in a word of caution. Auction buying is for the very experienced. Every house at auction is there because it hasn’t sold the normal way, either there is a physical problem or a legal one. Anyone buying at auction should have a full structural survey and a solicitor check the legal pack before thinking of bidding.

Rosie does look very comfy on the new carpet too
Thank you she been sitting on smelly underlay and floorboards this past week
Lalli the Methil one I'd be cautious over. That area is improving as they've put the rail line to Leven from Edinburgh.
But Methil has a poor reputation. High unemployment , drug culture , barely a shop.
Your second one is c listed and on the islands. Its a different way of life. A sedate life, no next day delivery nothing and more expensive on island life.
C listed means there's rules over what you can and can't do to the house. They don't tend to have gas central heatin. All oil heating or electric.
Beautiful place to live though if you can get used to the pace.

Looks unloved, some damp, leaky roof. Not sure why they call it mid-terrace, looks end-of-terrace to me. Bet it will go for at least £80,000. Will not be hard to make it look better with new decor. 🏡
And near me, hopefully nearer soon 🙏 as lallipickle i need out we won't get the no neighbours but less and non estate. Good morning all another hot one, hubby pumped my tyre up hopefully did the job so off for a bike ride and hopefully home b4 the traffic. Have a wonderful day hugs to all and hope those suffering can get through another day a little better. X
i think at this point there needs to be a difference between want and need. And of course there are other things at play that need to be sorted out at the same time to catch those that fall through the gaps for whatever reason. A bit of pragmatism needed with a lot of things in the news at the moment!!!
another beautiful day! awake since 5 though. At least covid knocked me out all night lol
That man who lives with with us is sick again. Currently day 4 of feeling awful but testing negative for flu, covid etc. he still hasn’t recovered from the horrid cough and brain fog he got in March 😩
I have at least persuaded him to hand in his notice at work since he’s been there a year and been sick four times so far whereas previously he’d not been sick at all in 10 years.
Darling locals set the playground on fire this morning so we’ve had the excitement of the fire engine this morning.

Lalli you should buy a caravan, I think everyone should live in a caravan. If we could get rid of twit & tw#t your only neighbour would be us and our border has been planted so that they can't see us and we can't see them. However after the senseless attack yesterday in a nearby town who'd want to live here 😢 DD is now saying she's not sending the kids to any of the football or dance classes she had booked through the summer holidays.
TM you have completely converted me to Nancy Birtwhistle (even though I'm not convinced she's not you 😂😂😂) I have been making my own kitchen/bathroom cleaner now for months and it's the best I've ever used. Three lemons, usually from Olio so free, a squirt of washing up liquid and three squirts of white vinegar. I keep it in a kilner jar in the cupboard. Each jar lasts me about three weeks to a month by which time the next batch is ready.
I've also got COVID started on Saturday not feeling well, but should be recovered just in time to go back to work on Thursday 😢
Tweets your house looks lovely you must be chuffed with it please can someone crochet Rosie some slippers 😂
At least it's sunny so my day will be spent pottering in the garden and lying in the sun.

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well also x
Was looking at getting a caravan but the rules about how long you can stay at some sites seem complicated. I’m tempted by a campervan so we could move somewhere else for a month once we reach the allotted time period.

Good morning all, lovely day here
Couple of loads of washing out
I have long realised how lucky we are with the house we bought a bit over 39 years ago. It is in a cul-de-sac, near the woods, in a peaceful area The trouble tends to come when the gypsies arrive nearby, but that never lasts long. Unfortunately there is now a few rented houses among us and one of them thinks nothing of storing rubbish out on the access road for the garages, among other things there is a fridge freezer and a glass desk sitting there at the moment. And the tree that overhangs needs cutting back and we do not have contact details for the landlord. I have tried ringing the doorbell, I have even put a note through the door, but no reaction whatsoever. And yet our next door neighbours rent and are lovely! Some people have absolutely no respect for the neighbourhood they live in.
Hugs to all that need them xxx
And here's hoping we all manage to get our pension when the time comes.
