Sarah Thats a lovely house I hope you will be very happy there
Lalli I appreciate your sentiments of spending time with the children and hope you find your forever house Even up here you would struggle to find anything in your price bracket, although its so much cheaper than many areas down south So sending you good luck in your quest
What a fantastic building TM, love the copper. Nice house Sarah, sit on mower me thinks 😂. Piffing it down with me and I've left bags of garden waste all around the garde/field that I need to put in the compost😬
That was a noisy night and started up again this morning but hopefully won't prevent DS first football match of the season.
Stopped taking my seasonal antihistamine 2 days ago and cracking withdrawal headache !(
Love the house pics and fully subscribed to the less is more ethos when it comes to working and spending. Everyone else in this town seems to need 165k plus household income but we are quite happy spending south of 30k
Goodish morning as it has been non stop wet rain since last night...
Our plan is to go to a food festival (tented) to sample posh food & alcohol Admittedly I enjoy the rain whilst suitably dressed, but will need to find my wellingtons
Exciting news, I've lost track... I'm hoping you are moving into the thatch house x
No after the sale fell through, she lost the property she wanted and wasnt in a rush, to find anywhere, she was only looking with the agents that she was selling with, we were getting desperate as we sold it again days later, and it took few weeks for her to decide shes not rushing.
By this time we were talking ourselves out of it anyway, then this one came up, in a really lovely area, not thatched, not listed, 300 years old still but we can do what we want to it.
I think it's all happened for a reason, and this house will be a far better home for you all... and omg, it's beautiful 😍
Hi has anyone had a parking ticket from HomeBargains.i forgot all about it being only 2 hours and by the time I'd waited in the cafe etc and waited to pay from the shop it was just over 2 hours. As the bootsale was rained off yet again I thought I'd go there and have a browse at all the Xmas things etc.
Managed to fall over twice in a few days recently again. Missed the kerb going up off a road well didn't get my leg high enough and down I went . Head bruised and all down body bruised , knee ,elbow and hands . I must have a strong skull. Then a few days after I'd stopped at son's house to pick up parcels that were by the door ,got out walked onto their wet slippery drive and did a Bambi all legs and arms everywhere . I managed to change position as I was going down . Great .
I'm still eliminating why this might be happening as the hospital do nt know. Went to the opticians and my eyesight had changed in less than a year . I have varifocals which used to be ok for years. I also have the beginnings of cataracts, wonderful . So new glasses and lens s coming . I also thought it might be because I carry a heavy bag on my shoulder and it seems to throw me forwards and I always land on that side. I'm going to try one of those back pack bags where the weight is distributed .
I/we have had a hell of a year infact since a year last March and it isn't over yet. What with hubby's ailments and my own all I seem to do is attend appointments or do jobs round the house and garden . I never have any fun and don't want to do anything much else either. Not happy

Oh Emerald. It’s tough being a carer while you are unwell too
Have you looked into support groups for your self as a career or for your DH as he is unwell
We have lots of support groups for every ailment and some just general. Look on your council website to see what is local to you Your library may have info too however our libraries all have restricted opening but again the info is on the council webpages.
You know the elite are good at support but sometimes you need physical company
What a Sunday. I have been wanting to go to IKEA for months. Decided to brave it. There are 2 both of which are nearly an hour away. Both in London. Last time we went into London was before lockdown. This time went to an unfamiliar one. The Sat Nav was sending us in the wrong direction. Managed to get there. Home …my OH decided he knew better than sat nav…big mistake. Think it’s going to be quite a while before we venture into an IKEA 😟 Ps another moan here . Besides being massively busy as ikea is. I forgot all the university students were visiting to kit themselves up ready for the year.

It must likely won't be from HB themselves but a private parking company. Various routes you can go from ignoring to disputing etc. Depends how brave you feel. I'm currently ignoring one from about 4 weeks ago so probably due a reminder any time and empty (hopefully!) threats 😂

General rule of thumb is to return to store with proof of purchase and see the manager who can get it cancelled.
I completely understand your thought pattern Lalli, just didn’t want you to buy so cheap you needed to spend so much on it, that it would have made more sense that you spent a bit more and didn’t need to do any work, so saved in the long run. Hope you find something soon that meets your needs.
Just for Michaels I’m quite interested in the link between lowered hormones in the aging population and deafness. My Mum was beginning to lose her hearing and one day became profoundly deaf in one ear, it was literally overnight . Her other ear deteriorated slowly but they could find no reason. I’ve been reading that some consultants do not link this as they just don’t have t the latest information but my hearing was beginning to dull slightly and it seems back to normal since taking the hrt.

There's a proven link between the benefits of oestrogen and anything sinus related as well as eyes which is why a lot of older women struggle with 'dry eye'
So I went on my own to Food Festival, bought a huge scone & posh sausages, then walked to Lidl & got my free doughnut & crusty fresh rolls to have with the sausages for dinner Then decided to detour & pick blackberries And then it absolutely pelted down but I knew I had to keep picking as the season has finished.. Finally returned home drenched, like Sarah So hot bubble bath whilst fourp cooked the sausages And have spent this afternoon in my jamas binge watching Eastenders from 2006
I've discovered hair dye drops Quite by accident, they were on the RTC shelf in SD You mix a few drops (my colour drops are violet) with conditioner & leave on your bleached hair for 10 minutes So much easier than mixing up dyes Impressed

Mixed fortune in the football, DS team were handed a 12-2 drubbing, more than half as many goals as they conceded in the whole of last season but they have lost their goalkeeper and not got a replacement and have had one short training session whereas the opponents had kept training over the summer and played 3 warm up matches. DD2 team won 5-4 with DD2 scoring her first goal for the team. Managed (just) to avoid the thunderstorms in both matches and the real winner was me as I managed 12k steps today running the line in both matches. Walking football starts again tomorrow too which will hopefully move my weight and blood sugar back in the right direction after my exercise levels and diet kind of slipped over the summer.
Talking of blood sugar and cholesterol, I ended up having tests a week apart, one order by the GP and other by the consultant in connection with my ear. There was quite a wide variation in the results (one had better blood sugar and worse cholesterol) which got me to wondering how accurate these tests actually are as one put me in pre-diabetic and the other was normal whereas the cholesterol one was normal and the other was poor. Makes it hard to take the results seriously when they can differ by so much within a week.
