We had our two large sheds broken into years ago too. These cheeky badgers well one must have got on the others back and tilted our security lights skywards, fat lot of good they were . They cut the locks off and chucked them into next doors garden , took one look at all the ( junk ) stuff in there and went away empty handed lol.
Ps locks aren t a deterrent and you risk them damaging the shed door as well .

I haven t got coeliac disease and all my bloods etc were fine but must have ibs. Don't think wheat does me any favours either so I ll have to look and see what I can eat

Must admit although I’ve said about cctv ….it doesn’t matter what you’ve got if they make up their mind then nothing deters. I’m a believer in security lights if they are chancers then I would think they don’t want spotlights on them. When we put up our cctv we were told to put a notice up telling them there’s cctv in operation. Complete joke really but we had heard of a burger ruddy getting away with it because the house owners didn’t warn them. What a farce
Our solicitors are saying it is Limtied Title Guarantee and Not Full Title Guarantee due to the seller selling with limited knowledge of the property, we are advised that we are purchasing the property on a "buyer beware " basis. The sellers are selling as Attorney and therefore the knowledge is limited.
My previous house was like this. When I bought it, it was the persons next door neighbour that was dealing with the sale as the gent had passed and she was executor. The man had lived there since the house was new but it was still a limited title as it was not himself dealing with the estate. I cant remember if I got an insurance out against it (only 3 years ago, shows how crap my memory is!) but if I did, it must have been cheap. In summary, I dont think its anything to worry about, but let your solicitor guide you, they will have seen this all the time.
My OH uses caster oil. Before bed, he uses eye drops, then puts a bit on his finger and runs it over his eyes. In the morning he uses eye drops again. It's stopped his eye lids sticking together overnight. He loves it

The lady is in a care home, think with alzheimers!!! So it's the family who are executors
I feel exactly the same way. This place and the grounds are really too big, and a lot of work, but the thought of moving house and all that entails just horrifies me. Trying to buy/sell a house seems so much more fraught these days than ever before ...finding somewhere suitable is hard enough but then people changing minds, or not being honest, increasing the price, dropping out at the last minute, problems arising or lack of communication....the list of potential crises goes on.
It's a whole big nightmare that you just wouldn't want to go through if you could help it and all that is before you consider having to pack up and move all the stuff you have accumulated over the years, let alone the Elite 'stash'
I like the village I live in and the people in it, and where would I get all my lovely 'straight off the field' veg if I didn't have a friendly farmer who grows the most amazing vegetables nearby. (he's pulling several acres of carrots and two fields of sweet corn this week so I'll be right there )
We were talking about this with friends who have just bought a bungalow. She had to cash in her pension to get it in the same village so they could be cash buyers, otherwise they just go too quickly!
Other friends just thinking of converting the adjacent garage into a bedroom and ensuite so they could effectively live downstairs when they feel they could no longer manage the stairs, which actually sounds like quite a sensible option esp if you want to stay put.
We're trying to simplify our grounds too as too much to manage but still want to retain some natural areas for the wildlife. We're going to have to give up on our wild flower garden as it's become far too unruly and full of weeds and it's simply too big an area to keep on top of. Probably going to have to paved or gravelled unfortunately Shame really, as we've a resident hedgehog now - hopefully there will still be enough natural areas for him/her to be able to stay
When my dd1 got married she wanted a marquee in the garden to hold 150 guests so we had to have a lot of areas grassed and some shrubs and borders removed . I was sad at the time but it did us a favour as lawn is easier than gardens . Mum is 88 and still climbing the stairs at her house although there is a stairlift which she only uses for the washing ! She says if you don’t use it then you lose it and tells us about a friend who got bungalow leg syndrome which is a real condition where you can’t lift your leg high enough to go up steps.

I bought a probate and as long as your solicitor has checked the title and all the necessary searches done it shouldn’t be a problem but do check as things change and it was a long time ago.
