Is it mainly cosmetic improvements needed rather than structural?
Sale price at auction 50,000 to 70,000 or even more? xx
I'd say the 10k is click bait.
Area looks run down. I'd have to dig deeper but I'm sure there's huge problems with drugs
Only one real room down stairs
It could be good for buy to let for dhss, but maybe difficult to live there with kids and have a good standard of life
I’m half tempted to dump everything in storage and buy a camper just to go around all the places and see what they’re actually like.
But then I’m also wondering whether it would be a good idea to buy something to rent out to pay for me to rent in an area or just say screw it all and move to the aisle of Skye
Not a blade of grass for starters, I thought you wanted a large garden?
That is a bit of an issue. I was thinking the large amount of green on the map would potentially make up for that but I’ve no idea what the green actually is apart form a country park and a golf course 😂
Gone for a mental wander over Newcastle way now and that’s similarly priced in some areas but also seems to be lacking the green space 😩
I suppose there’s no point rushing, I need to get eldest child out into his own house first, it’s just that it’s so close to being possible and the summer holidays here really suck and arggghhhhhh!
Also, until I buy a house I need to put this money somewhere, any suggestions?
I presume I want to keep less than £85,000 in any one bank group but I lose all interest on my main account if the balance is over £3,000 and I expect to need to be able to access it with 4-6 weeks notice at a maximum (and obviously I don’t want it to lose value in the meantime so stocks and shares aren’t an option).

It’s not a problem I’ve encountered before 🤣
Might be worth putting some in premium bonds.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Does that mean your sister got her finger out x
I hope so. The solicitor tells me she’s authorised an interim payment and that it now needs to be authorised by accounts so I’m hopping round the kitchen checking my email to see if anything official has appeared but nothing. No doubt they’ll send it in the post and it’ll get here in January

Maybe consider a notice account, I’ve done that for £20k I will be moving into my ISA next April, so will give 90 days notice in the new year. If you want this discussing in more detail, perhaps ask on the relevant thread upstairs where it won’t get lost in other discussions.
You can get 90 day and sometimes 60 day access savings accounts with about 5% interest …. You need to look on some comparison sites. I had one with Nat west last year and it finishes after a year but you can stop early with just an interest penalty of about one month. It was 5.5 %
