I was going to suggest putting a message on Twitter - @tescobanknews and @tescobankhelp
- say something like " Tesco Bank - #everylittlehelps but if so why are you refusing to switch my bank account to my new bank?" (the hashtag bit is important to include) Twitter is like shouting your grievance in the market place and usually you get a response quite quickly but I am worried that they dont seem to have responded to anyone since mid July.
Just seen numerous others with the same issue as you on @tescobankhelp which seems to be an active account - I would though put a public message up 1st before sending a DM. The more people that make this issue public the better.
Otherwise - your new bank will have a dedicated switching team which you could try phoning for help - but having said that getting to speak to real humans on the phone usually takes a lot of persistence now.
Thanks mhoc. Glad to know it's not just mine. How can they dictate when it's not convenient to switch just to suit them. It's disgusting. DS is on Twitter and it's his account we're in the process of switching as it's his salary main account. I'll have a word with him.
Not heard from new bank yet...
Thanks again for your advice.
I am also thinking that a tweet to @martinslewis and @moneybox and @paullewismoney - just tag them all in one message - then at least everyone who needs to know will know

I have weeks and weeks like this in the summer - travel insurance, house/contents insurance, car insurance, car recovery, pet insurance, broadband .... one thing after another. The car insurance took 6 phone calls as we have a multi car insurance - daughters car had to be removed from the list as Admiral wanted too much.
Yesterday I did Sophies insurance and after doing numerous quotes I've had to accept the renewal from marks as she is now 11 but I've changed to monthly payments instead of one annual lump sum.
Then I tried again with Sky and hit the brickwall as usual. Both our TV and broadband is up for renewal. TV is going up to £15 a month - basic package. I would ditch them altogether if it came to it - we have a Fire TV stick () and Amazon prime TV and I dont think we watch enough liv TV otherwise. Broadband - the best fibre speeds we can get here are between 6 and 12 MB with a guarantee of 5MB - as you can imagine the slightest glip on the system our signal drops out and we loose connectivity. I did some comparisons yesterday. W cant get Virgin at all, TalkTalk have a really bag reputation, BT were the most expensive. Plusnet could give us unlimited fibre for £22.99 a month on a 12 month contract. Sky are putting our direct debit up to £31 - I may have to start the cancellation process. to try and force their hand.
Have you got a fairly modern TV? Assuming you do not have Sky Q, Sky TV is compatible with Freesat so, if you have Freesat on your TV, you just put the cable through to your TV like your normal aerial (except it goes on the screw attachment). Other than that you could get a Freesat box, they are not expensive.
No - very elderly TV but yes we have a Q box. Someone suggested NOW so I did a quote through them - Fab Fibre or Super Fibre - dos not seem to make any difference as to which, 12 month contract and its £22 a month - so similar to Plusnet. Also Now entertainment comes up at £7.99 (instead of £9.99) - sky want £15! So with Now, Amazon Prime and the firestick that should be all of the TV that we ever need (dont need sports, TV, reality shows and only watch the odd film as I tend to nod off )
Update - 3rd long conversation with Sky and I have dates when we can go for cancellation. Best that they can offer me is £28.00 for the broadband and £15 for the TV but he did say that offers change all of the time so I will be ringing again next week ...

You can get Freesat boxes that will take Q but they are expensive. If you talk to local installers you should be able to get the LNB changed so you can go with "normal" Freesat.
I m clever like that anon 🤣 I suppose I just thought that as I won't be flashing around the One4all card that it wouldn't be noticed , been too busy to thing it through but never mind
Afternoon all. Happy birthday to me 20 x 3 today Had a great morning skyping with my DD in Oz and got my DS here today spoiling me. DD made a video of family and friends as still difficult to all meet up. Will have family/friends bbq Sunday. Was going to be tomorrow but weather not looking promising (possible storms ) So thought would move it to Sunday. Shame not today as weather not too bad. But some family n friends are working.
Banking help please! T bank as we know are closing all current accounts. Organised a switch with new bank but have received a text from T bank stating that due to high demand they have refused the request!
Can this be possible? I've not heard anything from new bank yet.
Surely T can't refuse when they have clearly stated that all accounts will be terminated soon.
I'm so annoyed. Morning all.
That’s disgusting. Ridiculous. Stupid. Draconian. I cannot think of any other words without swearing .

Was telling my OH this (wish I had not) he is obsessed with the Banks just taking over all of us. Places not accepting cash is his biggest bugbear. They will and really do rule our lives to some extent. We cannot live without them and they know it. Another thing here. Today in the bank my OH asked if they could swop a few £50 notes for new ones. No they said not unless you pay them into an account. He was raging.

I need to add this to my list... I am sure that there is a bonus of £140 on HSBC.... it is now on my list x
I'm trying to swap out broadband package - does anyone have any recommendations please (I am going around in circles according to OH we need 60+ mbps (or what ever it is called... he does not want anything affiliated with Sky as he has a dodgy box!).
I have spoke to the doctor..and appointments booked... I've changed our electricity (same standing charge but much cheaper unit price). I have changed the car insurance, getting it for 350.. when churchill wanted nearly 800 omg! Once broadband is done, I need to do car recovery... then I can leave the house, and run other jobs. Trying to make the most of a day off work.

Thanks, it is a nightmare trying to get the best deal
I was thinking today, that I could do with setting up a folder just of the renewals, and we don't have TV contracts, travel and pet insurance. We had SSE for our broadband they were okay, but the customer service is terrible (used to be really good). If I don't get a better deal, we will continue with them.

Happy 21 years old... just think what fun you will have with your 39 year experience x
May I just ask if anyone has experience with using a Tempur mattress? DD is looking for a new mattress and someone mentioned this but sounds awfully expensive.
Any recommendations for a decent firm mattress that wouldn't cost the earth would be much appreciated.
I know everyone's tastes and preferences are different but general suggestions would be most welcome.
I'm totally exhausted...I really don't know how lots of you work in offices/ write emails all day long... Last week wayward GS bought a chelsea away top for his gf for her b.day which was on Tuesday. He pinged the money to DH .as he had only got his card on his phone he'd lost his physical one which had the security number on, and he doesn't know it. I ordered thru the official website and paid using PayPal, he wanted next day delivery which as it was ordered in the afternoon it was possible. Friday nothing, Saturday delivery between 2pm-5pm...GS waited at home for delivery whilst gf and their daughter went to a family gathering at her dad's. 8pm by which time gf came home and put daughter to bed a text saying there was a problem, more directions were needed and it would be delivered Monday...Monday came and went it is now Friday and still no delivery. Goodness knows what extra delivery instructions are needed, number clearly visible from the road, and They're on the main road thru the village. Everyday since Monday I have written emails and been on chat.,the other day the Chelsea cs disconnected me.hermes take 2 days to reply..even though they say they're contacting me the next day. After an hour again on chat to Chelsea I have to wait until Tuesday as the top should be delivered by then, she refused to cancel the order as it's out for delivery, but was gracious enough ummm to refund £2 the difference between express and ordinary delivery... I've just had an email from Hermes telling me to contact the retailer..🤦. And he's given me his extension number ...but I'm not ringing at £3.60 a minute.... Holly is the bot and you go round in circles with her.... Sorry rant over......😡
