Sleazebob .... When do you get your hospital results ?
I'm not expecting any
They diagnosed a lung infection from the x-ray, said heart was working ok from the ECG, said blood tests were ok and sent me home with 2 courses of antibiotics that both finish tomorrow. Said they would ask GP to send me for another x-ray at the end of August to make sure there was no infection left ...
All i can say is that although I feel a lot better, I still don't feel quite ok - if it continues iwill think about going to doctors. Shan't go back to A&E unless it gets worse again though.

Wish I could get OH to go to gardens like that Snap, hard work getting him to go to Wisley! That said he did consent to a wonder around the gardens at Buckfast Abbey
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
This is a bit random, but has anyone tried peanut butter whiskey? I stumbled upon this online, and it sounds a bit lush, even though I don't drink whiskey

Had a lovely weekend in Yarmouth , look at these prices for parking 😱😱😱 and people were paying, this was car parks on the front!
I wouldn't ever pay that. And it's not too far and there is free parking
We went to Southend one time, not a Jolly but for work. Anyway, the prices on the seafront were horriffic but ONE ROAD back from the front the parking was free and easy to find!

Not there all permit parking, we had to park about 6 streets away from hotel! Good job we didn't have a lot of luggage!
There was some cheaper on the rds, was £7 for the day
DH and i did have a laugh, he doesn't drive but is my co driver with sat nat 🙄 i said imagine us before sat nav and with a road map, he goes i am telling you we woudn't go anywhere , it just would not happen 🤣

The crazy thing was that everyone was fighting for the space on the seafront, all for the sake of 5 minutes' walk!!

Last Sunday, when I went to olympic park, stratford, I looked up the parking and it was something like £10. Used an app called Just Park and found a parking space for free that was just a 10 mins walk to the olympic park.
Bubbs I hope you had a good weekend. Those parking charges are ridiculous.
Michaels I hope your hire car is okay. Are you down in Devon now? Did you get the train down here, hence the hire car?
We had a lovely few days with the in laws staying here :-). We were lucky with the weather too. Although the water butts are definitely full again now! Thankfully most of the rain has been overnight.
So picked up the hire car after a 60 minute wait. Apparently if I had returned it an hour late I would have had to pay for a whole extra day but it is fine for the hire company....
Was driving through the black down bills after dark, saw a large puddle so slowed down to 30 but still aquaplaned madly, luckily in a straight line so though no harm done until we slowed down again and the car was making a terrible noise - looked underneath and a large piece of crumpled aluminium was hanging down. Managed to pull it off, think it is some sort of sound insulation protection for the exhaust. Tempted not to mention it when handing the car back....
At least you got one, I’m in Spain and paid mega money upfront to be told sorry you need an internationalpermit “Brexit “ …. When questioned they just laughed and kept saying Brexit and refused to refund . The parting remark was “ you shouldn’t have booked through an agent “! It took eight hours and much heartache to complete a on hour car journey by public transport

Nope, We are just a party of 8 this year (3 kids plus 3 friends) so our 7 seater plus roof box just wouldn't cut it (personally I would rather have put one of the friends who shoplifted some Red Bulls when we stopped to fix the car into the roof box). Instead we have an absolutely mahoosive VW Transporter LWB (3 rows of 3 seats and then space for about 8 suitcases). You can imagine how easy it is in the lanes especially without a reversing camera.
The underside is well mashed, mostly just cosmetic bits but also the heat shield but I suspect it will be fine for whilst we have it. I did buy the third party excess cover so in theory we could probably get it sorted but free but if they decide to swap it out, then don't have one available etc I can imagine it will be a huge hassle so I might just hand it back and not say anything see whether they notice. Google suggests this is a common problem when they are driven through puddles.

All changed now as DS1 lives one road back and last year it became permit only …complete madness as people still park and just risk a ticket !

What a nightmare, would a taxi have been prohibitive? I seem to remember in the past for non-europe hire needing to get an 'International Driving Licence' that was a few quid from possibly the post office - is this what is needed now in Europe?
Edit: www.postoffice.co.uk/identity/international-driving-permit - £5.50. I hope it wasn't just this as that would be even more annoying if you found out all you needed to have done was walk into a post office with your driving licence and £5.50....
