Waiting for the rain this morning. Obvious temperature drop and a good wind which makes a nice change, so I’m hopeful it’s not far away, the garden needs some water...
New fridge arrives on Tuesday so thanks to the OPs who suggested AO and Boots. Am I right in thinking I have to leave it for a few hours to settle before I plug it in and then another few hours to get to temperature? Pushed the grocery order to 11pm so hopefully that’s long enough.
I had a new one this week and it was four hours before plugging in but I’m in Spain x
Good morning it is a lot cooler here today, hope if you have the storms you are keeping safe there are dramatic pictures of lightning on the news. I have been tackling one of the really overgrown beds at the Lottie this morning it is full of creeping buttercup, brambles and hawthorn.

That always used to be the case lalli.
how are you getting on with your March cupboard challenge lalli?
i must admit I am making progress but it's very slow. Once I have used up a particular stash from the bottom room,I am only buying as I go using kitchen space, if that makes sense. I feel I can be more disciplined with less space. There's a lot of " historic " stuff to use up but also recent Amazon bargains etc.
Well my cupboards aren’t getting any less full, but they have different stuff in them so that’s a good start? Almost ran out of fecking m.lk last week and had to dig out the milk powder for the bread machine. We might use all the Christmas jam up by Christmas, but I noticed pip and nut peanut butter was on the reductions shelf at Sainsbury’s so we might be having a lot of sandwiches. Luckily the bread making is working wonders on the flour pile. I still have half of the massive korma paste jar and about a years supply of pasta but we did finish off the 5kg bag of rice last week.
I tried to empty the freezer these last two weeks and it was going so well but then there were cheese bites and oppo and some farmfoods bargains so it’s full to the top again.
Stock rotation is definitely the next target. Husband sorted the spice packets and mixes a few weeks ago and pulled out all the out of date ones so that decided which meals we were having. I might set him to go through one cupboard every few weeks because he’s much more determined about the out of date stuff. I tend to look at it and think it’ll be fine for a few more weeks and then it’s two years down the line and we still haven’t done anything with it.
i dont visit the covid thread very often, i feel this applies to a lot of elite. plus i want to post on an open forum.
i was looking at princess cruises and i have to have proof of vaccination for the cruise i was looking at. i feel proof is going to be quite common around the world soon for travellers. anyway i have now downloaded the nhs app (not the tracing app) this has a QR code to be scanned at terminals for proof of vaccinations. it has your vaccine dates and type of vaccine.
Your nhs number helps register quicker but not essential.
I'll never forget how happy I was when I saw my missus walking down the aisle. My heart was beating fast and the excitement was unbearable. It seemed to take an age but eventually there she was, stood beside me. I gave her a cheeky wink and said, "Get that trolley over here love, they're Doing 3 cases of lager for £21

My OH has refused the vaccinations (for medical reasons), so we may not leave the UK ever again!
Daisy comes up lovely after the beans doesn't she? She will break hearts indeed ...
Had a nap and am hopefully ok now until 10-00 pm-ish when I'll be tired out again. This bug I have is 'nasty' to say the least, and although the antibiotics have kicked in for sure, I'm still wheezing like a 40 a day person when I've never smoked in my life!
Today was when WiFi was supposed to go to Romania for a month but decided to stay as I was poorly. Glad she did, not sure I could have managed the drive to Heathrow and then back easily lol.
In the kitchen next, got some cooking to do Some things never change much ...
" The rise in the cost of coffee beans won't hit the shops instantly"
Eeeeeee😂😂😂😂
MY OHs mate is forever buying useless "stuff" eg dodgy electrics, cheap gimmicky knickknacks, bits of tatt etc and he then passes them onto OH - I manage to donate nearly all of these items that get passed along - mostly to the charity shop. This week it was a jar of instant coffee - I think its Poundland own brand - OH tried a cup and decided he didnt like it - that was inevitable as there is only 2 brands OH has ever drunk. I chewed his ear off - any spare time seems to be taken up with trying to shift years of accumulated stuff - left by the kids or through clearing ancient relatives houses or just hoarded by OH etc ... I tried to add the coffee to Olio (the food sharing app) - except that the app had logged me out and it was registered to a defunct email address. I had to reregister but then it recognized my mobile number so I had to use OHs. Finally I listed the coffee. There are nearly 900 people with the Olio app within a 3 mile radius. Nobody wants the coffee.
Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains

I only list a batch of items to make it worth while collecting.
Someone listed an inch of orange cordial in a bottle! The same person who offered offered 3 sprouts near Christmas. 😂😡
That house is half a mile away from my house and can only assume it was the massive bang that woke us all up in the night, funny thing was we didn’t seem to have that much lightening before it hit.bit too close for comfort
