Does this computer issue give anyone else the fear ? It's a mess. Flights and trains grounded. Doctors cannae see patients and people cant pay.
I bet there's a run on atm withdrawals just in case money ๐ฐ
Yes I share your fear. I spend time with a retired member of the BCS, British computer Society. They pitched a similar scenario to a gov. dept. earlier this year. The gov. were onside to listen and talk further.ย
Hubby is a software engineer and gave me a layman's explanation. However I still think we've all become to reliant and too centralised.
Have to admit I was rather annoyed today. I went up the high street SSEwhich is very restricted parking. There was an ambulance parked there rather skewiff with it's lights flashing so I assumed it was on a call. Nope, saw the crew walking back with drinks in their hands. I really do not think that is right, those lights are for emergencies, not for parking control.
Playing devils advocate here but wondering if they had been called to an emergency but didnt need to take the patient to hospital and got given the drinks as they left. If not. Yes that's bad. Plenty of safer places they could have stopped to get a drink
It was from two different shops.

When OH was on contract to banks (and the stock exchange) he would have been dealing with the fallout. Needless to say he is glad he is not.

Hopefully the IT fallout will resolve itself in the next few hours. Gatwick have said that most flights should operate normally from tomorrow, ours is Sunday morning.
Will try to bring a few snaps back from Alaska, but TTFN - (I haven't booked Internet access on the ship, although I have booked WiFi)
Hi all, hugs to everyone Well another school year over Ds1 has finished college and canโt get a plumbing apprenticeship anywhere. Such a shame as he is really invested in it. But has found he loves driving n the freedom he finds in it. Dd5 & ds2 holidays started today they entertain themselves mostly now, but will do a couple of activities with them in the holidays.
And Magda what a scary time for you. There are so many people with worrying allergies now. Was it always this way? Or did people just go undiagnosed with all the dangers surrounding that.
I've just downloaded the Good Food App to get 12 months magazines for ยฃ9.99. Remember to cancel next July. I love the Christmas issues๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค
Have you got a link TM.
Iโve had a look myself but all Iโm finding is a 12 month APP subscription for ยฃ9.99.
The Cyclists are doing the C2C2C today about 280 miles. The Great North Air Ambulance saved the life of one of these riders last year and it's payback timeโค๏ธโค๏ธ
I didn't capture everyone ...plus theres 3 support vans ......and amongst those legs is the only lady rider.
I really wanted to do it but I need to get down the field๐

Yes I was spooked too yesterday.
before I left for work there was a email from the company shop to say that they could only take cash payments today and the cynical side of me wondered if they were going under๐ฑ๐ฑ Then the first news story I heard was a bit random and lacking detail and my mind went into overdrive. Think I drove into Durham on autopilot๐ณ๐ณ
Thanks for thr brew. I'll. Stick the ice machine on too.
Was going a bit yesterday. Hopefully drinking this much is flushing the nasties out!
My TA friend that was leaving video chatted me so I could watch thr leaving speeches so that was lovely.
Twins mum videoed and took pics of dd2 stuff. It broke my heart when she came home all upset it was her last day and I couldn't cuddle her (she doesn't want to catch it, he choice) so I had a cry and have her thr babies bake off set I got her for doing the end of Yr play she didn't want to do. We must reward ourselves for doing stuff we don't want to do! That made her feel better.
Everyone's off on their holidays and doing stuff. We were never going away this year which was going to be hard to see others but seeing all thr end of year treats is hard. So I think I'll steer clear of social media whilst I'm poorly at least.
Woke up about 3 coughing but went back off. Sneezing has taken over now ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คง๐คง๐คง
Hopefully not as hot today, it was uncomfortable for sure and I've been lucky enough not to have a fever (or no coz it's not burning the lurgy away?)
My hrv app thing looks a heck of a lot better today!
We just have to hope I've isolated from Matt and thr kids enough that thry don't get it and we can get on with it. I have a lot of cleaning out and cleaning to do!
Hugs and loves to all needed or not and extra squishes going too xxx

Good morning all, cloudy one here.
Got all the windows open upstairs, will hopefully clear the air a bit.
Normal Saturday here, though tempting to try to get into the market that is on once a month. Of course, if I go, it will be way too expensive and I will buy nothing, so no real point in going
Thank you for the cuppa and breakfast Bananababe, made a pleasant change.
Anyone know what we can expect for breakfast in India, FW? Just curious lol.
Have a lovely day

Clouded over now although it was really sunny earlier but it is still very warm and humid.
The road crew arrived early again today so the noise and disruption is carrying on. Having to keep the windows closed not just for the noise but the air is just a massive swirling cloud of dust as they dig up the concrete and tarmac. I was hoping they would have a break from it today but I suppose the sooner they finish the better it will be. Although looking out there it seems it won't be finished today either.
Good luck to Mr TM, hope he has a safe and successful ride. My DS is an avid cyclist too and is very impressed at the distance they are doing in this heat!
Hoping everyone who is poorly or going through bad times feels better today. Have a good weekend everyone!

Ironic really. I am the wrong side of โ 21 โ I donโt want to be on too much of a rant here but this cashless society idea is crazy to me. I would never go out without cash. But hey ho. ps Perhaps go back to old days. My Nan used to tell me to fold up a note really small and put it in a shoe for any emergency I would struggle with when I wear flip flops.๐

Hope they do it in 2 days? OH would love to do this, but I definitely don't want him to on his own. I would have to be the back up car. ๐คฃ
Brilliant charity TM hope they all have a great time with no problems this year.
..ha ha..its a bit like catch phrase Say what you see
Gosh. It went straight over my head, thanks for saying that. ๐
I'll never forget how happy I was when I saw my missus walking down the aisle. My heart was beating fast and the excitement was unbearable. It seemed to take an age but eventually there she was, stood beside me. I gave her a cheeky wink and said, "Get that trolley over here love, they're Doing 3 cases of lager for ยฃ21
