Dropping in, not sure what day it is😱😂. Apologies if I've missed anything thing. ♥️♥️♥️ to anyone need, I might it need help/hugs myself before the end of the week🤣.
I've got more meals, nights out, gained more children, I'm sure I'm not old enough to be the mum/mammy mother or whatever to these people 🤣🤣.
I really fancy fish and chips or a cheese pizza, but I'm off to KL on food tour of funny food on my next stop 😬🤔😱.
That's after Mixed soup in Penang, don't ask😬😱
I don't think grab doesn't do snaps town 🤔, snaps is in the sticks like me😂.
Been to KL a few times. Plenty of western food there too. The KFC potato mash is to die for lol. Dont think Ive seen a fish n chip shop but Im sure they are there somewhere and also pizza. Enjoy
That said, I do need to clean some mould off a difficult to reach ceiling
I have a few small patches of some very stubborn mould stains on the ceiling over the back door which seems to be resisting all my attempts at removing them. I've tried most home remedies (that is non commercial treatments), to deal with it but it's not doing the job so I'd be interested to hear what you use and if it's successful. If you have used any proven commercial products, do they actually work? TIA
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend despite the wretched weather.
I have just managed to remove all the mould. I used Cillit Bang black mould remover on the walls, but on the ceilings I used Kilrock mould remover brush-on gel. It was expensive but it does the job. When I bought it I think it worked out cheaper to get two bottles from Wilko (including postage) than buy a single bottle elsewhere. Couldn't buy it from a shop locally. It comes with a brush on the lid but I used a cheap paintbrush today and it was a lot easier. The advantage with it being a gel is you can get it into little spaces and it doesn't drip as much.

Does anyone miss the olden days when you had an Insurance agent and you made an appointment and got your insurance sorted out in the office?
Sorting out car insurance today and all was going well. I thought I would try to see if I could get a quote from Admiral for multicar but again I got one of the remote workers from the far east - never seem to get the assistants from south wales now - and in past years I've had some delightful conversations with their remote workers in Canada. Not that it mattered much as when we finally got to the quote bit Admiral wanted over twice the amount I had for other quotes - we were insured with Admiral for years but 2 years ago they decided OHs car - less than 3 years at the time - was too much of a risk and the insurance price sky-rockeded so last year was the 1st time I've had to do full insurance comparisons.
Anyway I went back to the comparisons and got this car insured with Aviva, registered and docs printed and all good.
Then I went to do the 2nd car but the prices had changed a bit from my original quotes but I managed to get the figures down a bit by putting myself as 2nd named driver. Again Aviva came up as the cheapest so I insured the 2nd car. Thats where it became difficult as no matter what I did I could not get OH registered. Website didnt recognize his surname or DOB - went onto the online chat and was passed between 4 assistants none of who helped. Anyway I will try again on Sunday and clear the cookies etc

Foxy, I recently sent this to a friend who had a bad mould problem in her bedrooms.
For the mould. Wash the area down with a stiff brush. When dry, apply a fungicidal wash and leave for 24 hours. Apply an oil-based stain block and leave that to dry. Apply the finishing coats, preferably a mould inhibiting one. We pay about £31 for 5L fungicidal wash from Crown. Stain block £62 for 5L of the block Mould inhibiting finish coat £68 for 5L Make sure that you have good ventilation in the room.
Thank you, that sounds like it would be a thorough job and work. That's rather more than I had hoped to spend on just a few small stains though!
Foxy, you can get much smaller quantities/cheaper. I have the larger sizes for work. My friend just wanted an idea of what I pay. The fungacidal is a must, in my opinion. A little cheat is to use an oil based paint (white oil based undercoat works) after the surface is dry and then second coat when first coat is dry.
Trial pack for Tenby Thrown most of my list into case & it's fitting even in a random pile New case so found a bit of ribbon to identify it amongst the 100s of other black IT cases. My old IT case was a 70s floral & no one had the same 😁 no wonder it was very cheap 🫢🤣
Remember when we all got "cheap" red letter day vouchers Well I went to Patisserie Valerie today It was Cr*P
Dry sandwiches as in dry fillings, soggy egg mayo on a brioche roll Rock hard scones and a poor selection of cakes I almost never complain but would have today except my pal nearly had a heart attack when I said about returning the scones
Sadly I still have another voucher to use up
Hope you have sunshine(we've not) and having a better day than me
Off to read a book
Edit My amazon order just arrived Hand wash (thanks Obama) and mini cleaning brushes DH just rolled his eyes
Oh dear! I bought one for OH, well me really, he isn’t bothered 😆. And then the High Wycombe branch (= nearest to me) closed down 🙄. Came to the conclusion we would have to traipse over to Hendon to use voucher but sounds like it is not going to be worth the effort 🫖🍰🧁🍪. Shame! But thanks for sharing your experience and sorry it was pants ☹️.
The curry voucher we used in Beaconsfield was a nice experience 👍. Some obscure name which I have now forgotten, has several restaurants, was a nice meal. Must ask DS if he has used the Marco Pierre White meal in London yet 🤔.

MrsMac, you could fill out your feedback here for Patisserie Valerie and see what they say?

Thank you very much for the tips!
If you ask friends, family and neighbours, I am sure someone will have half a tin of stain block in their garage waiting to be used by a Foxy Lady x

I like to think that I am being helpful providing companies with my feedback as I am giving them the opportunity to improve
Thanks to PIB and Juju
I posted on trusted pilot Not scathing just saying how disappointing the tea had been but will use the link above too
PIB I would go if you can combine the trip with shopping etc We had a journey of 35/40 mins and will stop off at the tesco next door when I use my other voucher but not accept rock hard scones nor dry bread with a few bits of dry chicken TBF other customers had freshly made sandwiches/rolls which looked ok It was not very busy so no excuses Thanks for the replies

I just love when you talk about places I know!
I was chatting with my friend yesterday and telling her about a new book about a coming of age book set in the town next to where we live just now She comes from way up north She was dismissive
I love to read novels based around towns/ cities I know of so know what you mean

Good morning all, beautiful day here.
My cleaning went unexpectedly well yesterday, to the extent that I have today almost free. So what on earth do I do with a free day lol.
Am absolutely delighted with the fact OH is in Germany for the final. We have a pact, mostly if he wants to watch sport he watches it upstairs, but if England are in any finals he gets to watch it down here. However, he is not back until tomorrow Shall have to have a look see if I can find something on catchup, BOTH the main stations are showing the final which is quite ridiculous!
Hugs to everyone xx
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Take care MW
I enjoy the Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman for the same reason, spent many happy hours in Brighton when I was a child, it was where we went on a Saturday. Used to love going down The Lanes, and the dressed crab from a little shop at the top of a road I can't remember is without equal, I know it is childhood memory thing but I have never found crab like it lol.

I am in shock...it's not raining, it's sunny and it's relatively warm
Now what to do with this rare pleasant summer day Have a good day everyone and make the most of it as it probably won't last!
To be honest I hope it starts tipping it down around midday. Good weather and the football tends to get the locals all riled up and the longer they have to sit in the sun the more chance of trouble
At least if they have to go to the pub and pay full price they’ll have to drink less or pace themselves 🙄
So much so that I've pulled the plug and opted for early retirement (I'm a little older than you and in my late 50s). Teaching isn't the job it used to be and I can't keep giving all of me - and still be asked for more!
I'm taking the summer as recuperation time then hopefully I'll spend more time posting on here, as I focus my attention on moneysaving!
I hope I'll be like Tweets and love the freedom it brings. Crossing my fingers that I won't regret it, even for even a minute!
Loving reading everyone's retirement stories......and yes....it would be lovely for you to post more on here.....can I call you doc for short😂

I only ever visited once and it was bad. The cakes looked beautiful but tasted terrible. Fur coat and no knickers. Why did I thin of lesliejack when I wrote that🤔😂
