Talking of books the author Simon Mc Cleeve has written lots of books locally , crime ones eg The Wrexham Killings, The Chester Killings, The Llangollen Killings and many many more but can't think of them off the top of my head .
Had a lovely day yesterday weather wise was fine but nice today rain is back lol.
Hugs to those who want or need one
MOC i remember insurance man from Prudential knocking at door weekly to collect the money and if you hadnt got it pretending no one was in
Awe tweets I thought that was just my childhood 😆 insurance, provident , taught to lie at the door before age of 5 or 6 I think.
Both my parents worked full time but we still never had any money. Always seemed boom and bust. No house phone , noone drove. I was first to get qualifications.
I like to think that I am being helpful providing companies with my feedback as I am giving them the opportunity to improve
I only ever visited once and it was bad. The cakes looked beautiful but tasted terrible. Fur coat and no knickers. Why did I thin of lesliejack when I wrote that🤔😂
Coats on their way, hope all goes well knickers still in place! LJx
I was chatting with my friend yesterday and telling her about a new book about a coming of age book set in the town next to where we live just now She comes from way up north She was dismissive
I love to read novels based around towns/ cities I know of so know what you mean
Take care MW
Before kids we used to commute into Oxford for work every day, living in the countryside in Oxfordshire. Used to love watching Morse, recognising pubs he visited and all the places where the murders happened!
BTW it is glorious out there, just come back from dogwalk 😎🐾🌞.
I am truly struggling on Candy Crush 15799. I am going to give myself a week and then that may well be it. I am not even getting close
You will do it Rosie says she hopes you dont say stupid words when playing it like her Mummy does .
I just plod along slowly LJ was catching me kept thinking she was going to pass me like many others have but she stalled and i am well ahead again
Dont know what this is strange see what happens haha
Positive thoughts being sent to all my Candy Crush friends
what level are you on now tweets? not sure why I have fallen behind, I do get a bit bored with so many hard levels anyway thought you would be too busy with footy to play just now good luck in the sweepstake LJx
Good morning Rebus is my detective Went especially to Edinburgh to have a pint in the Oxford Bar
Hinterland was filmed in our locality
Awe Snap you will disown me. I walked by a guy sitting at wh Smith, doing some sort of book signing no idea who he was,we'd only not long moved to this area. Anyways mentioned it to someone at work and they said that would be Ian Rankin. Ouch
In truth I had no idea who he was and it was early 2000s so not sure he was that famous. He lives a few villages over and wanders about quite the thing with noone paying attention.
But different meeting Terry pratchett.he was very suggestive to me and my pal. I only went to get signature for hubby I've never read his books.

So much so that I've pulled the plug and opted for early retirement (I'm a little older than you and in my late 50s). Teaching isn't the job it used to be and I can't keep giving all of me - and still be asked for more!
I'm taking the summer as recuperation time then hopefully I'll spend more time posting on here, as I focus my attention on moneysaving!
I hope I'll be like Tweets and love the freedom it brings. Crossing my fingers that I won't regret it, even for even a minute!
Loving reading everyone's retirement stories......and yes....it would be lovely for you to post more on here.....can I call you doc for short😂
edit....I see mw has already christened you😂
I always thought I didn’t want to retire but I did it 18 months before getting my pension and didn’t look back once! I recently got the first bit of state pension and it feels great!!

If lines appeared on screen or it didnt work had to thump it one on top and hey presto it worked just like that

I'm gunning for Spain today...and before I get shouted at I mean in the tennis
It's going to be a really good match but I can't stand Djokovic, although a brilliant tennis player I find him far too arrogant and robotic, always looks miserable as well. But Carlos Alcaraz is fantastic to watch as he's also brilliant but he is exciting to watch and always looks like he's really enjoying playing. At least he smiles a lot unlike misery guts Jock Itch.

I read this, then thought, but does he have a nice bum!

I don't watch football. The exception was when Robbie Williams played in the 1st charity football match years ago.... 10 minutes of watching put me off him forever!

🤣
It's all cycling on TV here. 3rd week of the Tour next week and usually I'm depressed thinking summer is nearly over. This year is worse because it hasn't even started yet...

Oh god, cycling.... probably even more boring than football! My OH tends to watch finals of any big sport, but everything football 🤨
You do know we've had summer, it was between 10.32 and 14.54 on the 12th June 🤣

We had a telly with a meter. I remember the guy now coming to empty it. Mum always got him to set it higher so she got a rebate and I got 50p for the shops.
We also had a 50p meter for the electric everything was pay as you go.

My first tv in my flat was gifted from someone. Brown wood round the edges. Hardly any signal. And the colour had gone so I watched prisoner cell block h and everything was green lol 😆
