Good news is we have a totally cloudless blue sky and it's sunny...bad news is it has gone colder and there will probably be a frost tonight with such a clear sky. Can't have it all but I'll happily settle for seeing the end of that grey blanket we've had for weeks and enjoying the sun, albeit not very powerful or warm now. Spirits are somewhat lifted!
Hope everyone can enjoy the reappearance of some sun today, but the forecast seems to suggest some areas will be due snow next week.
Random, DD2 is working 10:30 - 6:30 today, her shop is opening from 11-6 to benefit from passing trade as the xmas light switch on is at 5. I am pretty sure it is still illegal to trade more than 6 hours on a Sunday and they are basically ignoring the law probably assuming there will be no comeback, they are probably right.
A lot of stores do viewing only for the first half hour and don't open the tills after that and she might be doing other things after the shop shuts, cashing up or restocking shelves maybe?

Lovely here today as well Foxy - if it looks clear tomorrow I might chance a day-trip somewhere (yet to be decided)...
HASTINGS DIRECT quoted me £914 to renew my car insurance, I nearly had a heart attack. I’ve just got quotes for the same cover from £250, and that comes with £20 Sainsbury’s gift voucher and a free coffee from Greggs each month for a year (from confused.com). I guess they didn’t want me anymore now I’m retired. 20+ years no claims, small car by the way.
Potentially £35 Quidco/Topcashback too 😎.
We had a similar issue at renewal where the renewal was actually not even offered as they said the insurer wouldn't cover our car (normal family car, no claims), but then the same company offered cover through a comparison site with the same details 🤔. I went elsewhere as a different comparison site gave me a cheaper option 😎.

I don’t reckon I’d get quidco or topcashback after plugging in all my details via the various price comparison sites. I’m going back many years now but used to find higher quotes when going through cashback sites. Even using the various price comparison sites I got differing quotes for what appeared to be the same policies. Confused.com came in cheaper, they mentioned a discount, plus they give you a £20 voucher and the 12 free coffees. Happy to hear if anyone disagrees with any of this, and where my reasoning sounds wrong. I went through gocompare, confused.com, comparethemarket, uswitch, asda (high) and tesco (high).
