We have a pair of these on a tall period fireplace (Don't like flex hanging down from the mantelpiece). Got them from Pooky, who do some beautiful lighting (not very mse, though!) Have a look here: www.pooky.com/collections/rechargeable-table-lamps
I'm exactly the same. I can't stand the sight of wires. What a fabulous website?
do they take long to charge?
Don't use them very often, as it's not a room we use daily, so have only charged them once! I think the battery running time might be more of a consideration. When we looked into it we avoided the amazon ones and went for Pooky (even though they're much more expensive). Prices may have come down since we bought as it was some time ago, though. Thought their shades were a bit over priced, but you can always source these elsewhere.
I am cross with Sky - they talked me into changing my telephone and broadband to Sky from BT and said that my phone and broadband would all be the same (but better). But now my ansafone does not work ! There is a big red F on the base unit and it says it is full - but it is empty. I can’t get rid of it and, although I can make and receive calls nobody can leave messages. Sky can’t sort it and suggested I go back BT . Now they are charging me an extra £2 a month to add on voicemail but the base unit still says it can’t record. Now they are telling me to get a new phone/ansafone but there is no certainty that will work. I wish I had stayed with BT.
Emerald is probably the expert on this. I would think that the £2 a month is for digital voicemail answerphone service (1571) held on sky’s servers. What you want is your answerphone device to allow messages to be left. Make sure that the sky answerphone service is off, otherwise your answerphone won’t have a chance to pick up the call.
This made me smile. I live close to Knebworth Park. Just opened the windows when Robbie, Oasis, Stones, Queen, Genesis, etc etc. Town was gridlocked when Robbie played. There are also a few ahem 'gaps' to get in there
Didn't realise we were practically neighbours.
Purchased some buy a gift (theme park, meal, carting) when they were 50% off plus 50% cashback as xmas pressies last year for the family.
Failed to get round to using them and they are about to expire. You can extend but the extension cost is more than we paid for them in the first place.
Anyone fancy dining in London, electric carting or theme park, all for 4, in the next 10 days?!
All the good people live around here. I, too, have some bag's that are about to expire, so will probably change them for Hello fresh or similar.

Can't have lamps like that in our house, Castor and Pollux like chewing around the edges lol.
We have a lovely standard lamp, just needs the shade replacing. Only problem is the best place for it is beside my side of the sofa, which is a bit too close because they seem to like taking aim and pooping on me!!!!
Standard lamp currently lives in the store room.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
I'm not the best person to help. But in the words of our IT work department
" have you tried turning everything off and turning it back on again"
We haven't seen you around much. Are you well?❤️❤️
Yes, I have turned it all off and back on, I have also tried a reset but nothing works. Its annoying me that (as a fairly ignorant techie, I can understand that voicemail and my ansafone are separate systems, the Sky Techies can't get to grips with the difference. They are trying to fix the wrong thing.
DH and I are both pretty good although DH had a very nasty infection in the middle of the night recently and if !!! hadn't got him a doctor I think it would have been tough and go. Enjoying frequent holidays ! Thanks for asking.
Lovely pic of Oz but I am more intrigued by seeing the Duresta chair you have. I have a 2 seater and 3 seater sofa in that exact pattern, what an amazing coincidence. Even down to the dusky pink carpet upon which they sit. We clearly both have exceptional taste
I nearly missed this foxy🥴
I haven't heard of Duresta but this was bought from Barker and Stonehouse decades ago. I had the cushions refilled and because the original fabric was so worn, had them recovered in a black velvet. ( can anyone remember Trigger in Fools and Horses talking about the broom he'd had for 20 years?)
I remember at the time my Mother in law being horrified as it had birds on the fabric, and she said it was unlucky to have birds in the house!!
Duresta make the most beautiful handmade sofas. The ones I have, in the same fabric you have got, were made by them and bought several decades ago too! I fell in love with the fabric as soon as I saw it and even though they were eye wateringly expensive at the time it has turned out to be a good investment. They are so incredibly well made that they have really stood the test of time and although the fabric looks a tiny bit faded they are still the most comfortable sofa I have ever sat on and don't look or feel their age. I still think they are stunning.

Why me lol I haven t got a clue .
Good Morning all .
I did see that emerald 😂😂, I think silver got muddled and maybe was thinking enterprise. Unless you've not been honest about your abilities to all😂😂.
OH is going to rehab on Monday The start to the finish of this, the start to getting back to normal. Yes, I know it will take a long time, but it means he will be able to make better progress with his physio and get walking again

I can't guarantee this will work, but it SHOULD reset your phone and ansaphone.
Unplug your phone/ansaphone from the router (assume it is in the router now?) (or socket).
Unplug the power from the base.
Remove the batteries from the handset.
Leave for a few minutes.
Put everything back together.
To test turn off the Sky voicemail and call in to your phone, obviously having turned the ansaphone bit on first.
If it works tell Sky to get stuffed with the oversold voicemail service. If not, I am not sure where to go from there.

Thank you - how do I turn off sky voicemail ?
Ah, thought they would make it simpler. Not sure if this will work or not.
Using your handset:
Dial *53 to disable voicemail
Dial *52 to enable voicemail
Or can you set your ansaphone to answer immediately?
I did confuse emerald and enterprise, apologies to both.
Maybe tell sky you don’t want their Answerphone service at £2 a month. Serious question, how often do you get left messages? My Answerphone asks people to consider calling my mobile before leaving a message. I don’t think I’ve had a message left in over a year.
16 years ago I was looking for chargeable table lamps and they didn’t exist. So I have a side table crying for a lamp, I will restart my search. Thanks for posting.
I transferred mine to a credit note with no charges
Thanks, will have a look, only saw the extend option - for example restaurant was £39 for 2 (so paid about £10), and £26 to extend!
Carting is the worst, you have to commit to using the money for carting before you can see availability so for all I know there might have never been anything available at the local track but I would then have already converted the voucher and have no option.
Edit: Struggling with how to convert to credit note - have the option to use to buy another experience but for example my £69 (face value) carting voucher is showing as having a value of £47.20 towards a different experience and there seems to be no option to simply convert it to a credit note?
Have just had an online chat and they have isued a credit voucher for the full face value amount Valid until Nov 16 2025. Thanks for your advice ssm.
