Evening all! Had a fabulous evening last night with DS and GF walking around Christmas at Kew π. I know it is far too early but later dates nearer Christmas were already sold out, and it was a treat for me and my November birthday. Spectacular lights, lots of different xmas tunes, Santa, food, drinks, rides etc. It was very impressive! Completely different to last year Iβm told, which was really good too. OHs first time in Kew, will have to bring him again in daytime π. Would recommend π. Walked 7.8km π (incl from DS flat and back).
Today in Wales to visit DD π. Out for walkies πΎ at Tredegar and nice meal in St Hilary. Now in hotel with OH, dog on sleepover with DD π, meet up again tomorrow. Heart is full π₯°.
And yes, still do advent calendars for both my big kids, all dropped off now π«£.
Looking forward to catching up with Strictly and the Jungle when we get home Monday ππ.

sounds like you are having a fabulous weekend, it's so lovely to spend quality time with family and that sounds just perfect. Well done on the kms walked!
HASTINGS DIRECT quoted me Β£914 to renew my car insurance, I nearly had a heart attack. Iβve just got quotes for the same cover from Β£250, and that comes with Β£20 Sainsburyβs gift voucher and a free coffee from Greggs each month for a year (from confused.com). I guess they didnβt want me anymore now Iβm retired. 20+ years no claims, small car by the way.

Just reading about parents preparing " December Baskets" to occupy children with fun activities right through the month.
My goodness how much more pressure can people put on themselves. What with Christmas Eve boxes and elves on shelves, Christmas PJ's and advent calendars
Where will it endπ±π±π±π±
I agree, most mums are stretched time and money wise so itβs pure wickedness imo.
And the Elf on the shelf ensemble getting up to antics EVERY night.
Right Peeps I need to get back on the horse. I've used up my Sainsbury's Christmas Club money so I'm now a free agent. There's only the three of us and we spend about Β£50/Β£60 each week inc. basic toiletries and cleaning products. Olio is mainly bread and miles away so what's Aldi and Lidl like for prices on fresh?
On another note my laundry stash is coming to and end, we only use about 100ml each week and white vinegar in the rinse. Is it cost effective to make the washing liquid?
πSeem to be plenty of bananas in Cornwall π
You've got to be quick off the mark for the good stuff like fresh meat or fish otherwise you will only see bread.
Or if you become a food waste hero and do your own collections you get first pick
I went to a restaurant tonight ( who I know well) and they sent out to Tesco at 8pm for French stick . I could have cried !!!

I rarely even buy yellow labels Josie and DH nearly disowned me in Asdas carpark during APG days! In my defence the yellow labels are never as good as TM finds, ours are 50p off and well past their best and the benefit of redistribution would be out-weighed by the cost of fuel.
Thatβs probs up because they save it for Olio. Many stores only reduce good stuff half and hour before we collect or sometimes not at all as they are short staffed .
