Eggs florentine. Luxury breakfast this morning. I have a big bag of ready washed spinach and a jar of bargainiferous maille hollandaise sauce (thank you heron foods) If you just want poached eggs that’s ok with me.

Morning all, a tad grey out there.
Still can't seem to get a good night's sleep, but it is what it is.
Hopefully OH will have had a reasonable night's sleep. He keeps waking up rather disorientated, especially if they have had to put him on oxygen overnight.

OK, strange question. Anyone know where best to get sharpeners for thick pencils?
Except it is not for that, normally OH whittles the steps for the ladder in the birds' cage. I have tried but cannot do it right, I have a multi tool but do not seem to have any part of it that would do it. So I figure the best is a sharpener, prefereably a rotary or electric one. I can whittle the pieces of wood to go into the sharpener but cannot get the point right to go in the ladder hold IYSWIM.

Hope everyone is well. Hugs to those not feeling too good or dealing with difficult things in their lives. I guess the house movers are snowed under with packing boxes right now as it's only a couple of days away!
Sleazy...I have applied for attendance allowance on several occasions with success for my mum,MIL and FIL ...i'D back up what LJ says the form can be a bit of a faff and a lot does depend on your levels of mobility and ability to do everyday tasks, but it also takes into account the medication you are on and any long term health issues.
There are 2 levels of payment so it can be used as a progressive thing in as much as you can qualify for the lower payments and then progress as things become more limited.
I have no idea of your individual circumstances but my advice would be to download the form and fill it in over a period of time before submitting it...a little bit each day and it wont seem so repetitive or daunting.
The worst outcome will be thst you claim is unsuccessful...at which point you can try again another time ..best case you'll get some payments backdated to the time you submit the form...my view on these things is if you dont ask you dont get...nothing ventured, nothing gained....
Life is a strange thing, just when you think you've learned how to use it, it's gone

This reminds me of being in Boots and I wanted a pencil sharpener for an eye pencil so asked the young girl (about 16) if they had any and she said what's a pencil sharpener 🤣
I think WHS sell a double one with a regular size and a wider one but not rotary or electric. Amazon your best bet probably

Think I’ve mentioned on here some time back ; pencil sharpeners. I asked a youngish person in Boots for one ( eye make up pencils ) she looked at me as if I was mad. She said she’d never heard of a pencil sharpener 🤔 Had to get another assistant to point me in the right direction. If you can look at the make up departments some of them have 2 ends . One for pencils the other for chunkier face type pencils.
My Dad was the best ever at sharpening pencils. I just end up taking the top right off. Ha just remembered something here. Before the incident of me going to Boots make up department I had mislaid my sharpener . I decided to try my hand at doing this by hand. BIG mistake….scratched my eye.

Problem is that it is not pencils I want to sharpen, it is sticks so they may be harder to sharpen than pencils.

Does anybody here have any experience of 'Attendance allowance'? What it is, how to get it, that sort of thing.
It's been suggested to me that once I start getting my OAP in a couple of months, I should think about applying for it, but if it's a stressful process not sure that I would.
TIA for suggestions/knowledge/ideas
If you can get pip, go for that before you retire as no longer available from pension age but will continue if you have it and it’s more money . Mostly about mobility and extra help and needs to be based on your very worst day scenario. Attendance is a much smaller amount for over pension age who don’t qualify for pip.

I agree with this sure as long as u have applied for it before pension age, even if u reach pension age while waiting for a decision. And if u get refused you could always apply for AA then.
Hi all, hugs to everyone Well dd4 wedding a week on Saturday, can’t find an outfit I really love. Going to try leggs at Darlington. Friend recommended to try there. Do have 1 thing that I think is ok. The rest family all sorted ds2 need footwear but has a suit now from next.
Sleazy deffo apply for PIP first, it's a lot and you get points for each section, there's a tool online that you can input your answers and see if you'd qualify. If u get it its also backdated for 6 months.
