Is OH ok about retiring? It's a big decision but does he feel he's being pushed into it rather than something he has planned?🥴
Just wondered how he was coping😞
It was something he was considering anyway. He likes doing a bit of work now and then, I guess it depends on how well he recovers. Really don't have any indication yet but the neurologist said he should get back 95% of sensation.
At the moment he is getting some sensation back, and he is now allowed to have a few sips of thickened liquid through his mouth, mainly to keep the muscles working as much as possible, but there is still a long way to go, there are a few things he has no control over. Physio's are doing a lot of work with him, actually having him standing up for a short while now, baby steps at the moment.
I suspect it will be a while before he comes home.

Have they given him any treatments like IVIG Immunoglobulin or Plasmapheresis etc? Nerves take a long time to repair/recover, last time I was in hospital the Neurologist told me that they repair/recover 1mm a day.

Yes they gave him IVIG. That finished last Wednesday so should start seeing a bit more recovery come Friday the doctors have said.

IVIG Immunoglobulin is very expensive but it does help. First time I had Plasmapheresis then the 2nd & 3rd time i had 25 bottles of IVIG Immunoglobulin over 5days, not much else they can give you. I hope he makes a full recovery soon.

Yes, he has had 5 days, or nights I should say, of IVIG. They are now basically supporting him with tube feeding, physio and anything else needed.
Hope everyone is well. Hugs to those not feeling too good or dealing with difficult things in their lives. I guess the house movers are snowed under with packing boxes right now as it's only a couple of days away!

Morning all, sun is trying to come out here.
Left OH's PJ shorts out overnight, trying to get them dry. This morning we had the heaviest dew ever! I shall have to put them somewhere inside to try and let them dry so I can take them tomorrow.
Hope everyone is fine and the movers are progressing well.

We had massive condensation on the windows, went to wipe it off and found it was on the outside. Not sure there is anything we can do to prevent that?

That simply means that the double glazing is working, quite normal.
OH currently laying here snoring, had a lot of physio this morning, had him standing up a couple of times with a contraption that helps.
The voucher for the chocolates in Asda says single use only. Does that mean you can only buy 2 tubs or can you buy say 6 as long as it is in one go? Sorry for the stupid question but I am stressed and my brains not working.
Doubly sorry, should have posted on the Asda thread.

How's your mum Sue?

Mum's not good, had to call doctor and district nurse this week. Blood pressure keeps dropping and she is completely fatigued. Do doctor coming again this afternoon. I am beyond tiered.

Like everyone is telling me, you have to look after yourself too. I would imagine you have about a hundred times the weight on your shoulders that I do, specifically because I know OH is being looked after.

It must be such a relief that he is on the mend. You must also look after yourself, I bet your body needs a recharge right now!
There may be a long road to come so I really do have to start eating properly. Problem is I very rarely actually enjoy food lol. I have to admit I could do with a break, but not half as much as he could. We will get through this.

I was told nerves repair slower than that, 1cm a month or even longer.
