It’s strange remembering but my father always had such a varied taste in music. He introduced me to folk and musicals. Wherever he went he always brought back music, food and books. It’s why we have the ladybird ninja turtle books in English and Spanish. It’s why we have Himalayan pipe music and Fats Domino, Foggy Dew-O and the war of the worlds. Why we took a special trip to hmv in Hong Kong for alanis morisette and Marilyn Manson and why I remember laying on a bed in a posh hotel listening to Bon jovi when the airport workers were on strike. My life is filled with music and memories because music and memories were important to my parents.
When my dad died my mother couldn’t listen to music. With time she came around to meatloaf and various other rock bands. She was always the rocker to dad’s mod vibe. Before that her favourite song was Leader of the Pack
Susan Boyle singing You'll Never Walk Alone Dad loved it, I was doubtful, thinking football anthem But when she sings it, it is haunting Played at his funeral 😭
So tonight on SCD it was a dance song & I had a moment and I expect my Mother did too 💔
What have I done to deserve this. Immersion decided to start tripping fuse box when it came on at 11.30 pm. This means we will be lucky to have a hot shower in the morning and then have to swap it out for a new one before football at 11.30 which is a grotty job

Oh no! But at least you are able to do the job yourself. Lesser mortals might wait days before it could be fixed.
Music is not my thing I cant sing a note but will need to listen to Susan Boyle She lives not far from us and periodiclly makes local news with her modest living
Sitting here wondering how long it can take to drain down a 180 litre tank through a hose. This morning's shower was very quick but at least warm. In theory have to leave at 11.30 for first of two football matches in the wind and rain.
In our house the only non negotiable is two hot showers a day, if I can't fix it then we probably need to book into a hotel.
Worst is probably that whenever I am stressed like this hot water thing or early start for holiday or big work meeting I now seem to sleep really badly. Joys of getting old.

I hope no one is getting blown away or flooded.
Can’t take too long. My littles manage to drain a 100 litre water butt in minutes most times they get out in the garden 😂
I dont watch Strictly but will view Chris and Dianne on catch up when DH is out as there are so many reports of it being a tear jerker
Been out to Dunelm, Harry Corry and Asda Nothing in either of the first two Asda was heaving with shoppers with overflowing trollies and only two tills on Queues up the aisles Not acceptable
Unwinding from yesterday, still lying in bed, listening to Storm Ashley. I did go out at 7am in my night attire to remove the begonias from the top of the wall, waving to our neighbours' CCTV

Oh yes. Night attire. Love it.
I'd forgotten that very polite expression we used at home for bedtime wear.
Unemployment running through generations. Poor housing stock. Lack of opportunities for young people. No role models. Benefits and sickness. Or sickness and benefits. Drugs creep in and take over.
It's not only the North East😕
Theres so many factors that contribute..... isolated communities, poor public transport, and community resources. The people who have the skills to help maintain a good community move away. Landlords buy.... so many factors.
Today I’m going to try to sort the chaos in my study. Would someone please advise on the best place to sell books please? Our local charity shops are inundated with books and I suspect that taking them there will be like binning them. I thought I’d try first to sell what I can.
Try the Ziffit app. Scan the barcode through the app and it gives you a price or rejection instantly.
This is also good, plus you don't have to send them off anywhere

I've been MIA. Not really caught up but just want to wish sarah and haze all the best in their moves..... I swear they are in the same chain!
MW hope you saved me cake, it looks divine. Ps, congratulations on being a wonderful mum for 16 years x
Those flats in Aldershot are so cheap.... defo something worrying. I saw different age restrictions 60/65..... which will cause a constant turnover of residents. My MIL moved into a bungalow owned and run by a charity. The age limited was 50 plus. It gave a nice mix which led to a lovely community
Right off to go MIA again as still sorting crap out
