Not long back from the hospital since being there since 5 this morning. Mum is now settled in her own room in the Frailty Ward. She has broken her shoulder and has a small break in her spine, neither of which need surgery, but will put her out of action for some time. The aim of this ward is to get elderly patients mobilised again and hopefully out within 3 days. Can't see that being possible at the moment.

Hi,
My ex left me after nearly 30 years together and I had the Facebook dating app, pop up on my phone last year. I thought I'd have a look out of interest and I met the first date shortly after. The chap lives a 15-minute walk from my house and we have been together just over a year. I won't lie and say it's been easy as I was 16 the last time I dated someone, but it has brought some happiness back into my life again.
Good Luck
Thanks for all the suggestions i have to start somewhere
i totally hear you as we were together from 16 and had just got our visas to emigrate to australia and she has moved on with someone 15 years older she worked with but i feel/know he has only there for what we built up as a family (divorce money has gone and big debts racking up but i am lucky i have divorced even if it wasnt what i wanted at the time) . He moved in after walking out on his family after 31 years not speaking with kids/grandkids/great grand kids now in 18 months and stopped working nearly straight away.
its hard as i was a family man through and through bringing up my kids while running my own buisness round it without ever a thought for myself but i am now being told i have to start doing this. How do you d it if you never have??
and most of my friends are married and i seem to get on better with the oldies especially those like 70/80/90 lol but that is what i built up with what i do as a electrician and there all on the look out for me lol
i have been told when i am not looking someone will come along xx

Newbie.... I always thought you was female 🙄🤪🥰 maybe best not accept advice from me and definitely don't let me match you up with one of my friends.... the only single one ....well my OH calls her mad mandy....I will say no more.
Some fab suggestions for Newbie1980. Just to add a couple more - perhaps confide in family or friends too as they may be able to play cupid and introduce you to someone they know who has similar interests. If you have a doggie (or can borrow one) they can be a great social icebreaker when out walking or sat outside a coffee shop with them. Us females can't usually resist fellow animal lovers. I often ask if I can pet a cute pooch and it's a good way to strike up a friendly convo. Good luck!

Scamps1966 - your reply to my post appears to have disappeared?
I sometimes walk a neighbours pet and if anyone stops to chat always explain the dog is not mine, am just helping out.
No lies involved!
My suggestion was genuinely well intentioned.
Back to lurking and not commenting on this part of the forum. Goodnight all. x
Any early repayment charge on the fix? Might still be worth paying it and selling now if the market is going to fall - on the other hand spring is traditionally the best time to sell.
Yes, repayment charge would apply. We're having a valuation done next week and then I'll have to sit down and do some serious number crunching.
There are a couple of new surveys on FlavorWiki. However if you qualify it doesn't actually tell you how much you will receive for buying a particular product 🤔.
Thank you fw.
what can go wrong?😂😂😂
I've qualified and will give them a go.
why do they say you can make up to £46 but then it says you can only choose one product🤔🤔🤔
It is odd isn't it! Well Mr FW and I have bought different products from different shops so we'll just have to make sure we do our surveys at different times and use different thumbs 🤣. What could possibly go wrong indeed?!
Evening all Disappeared for a couple of days as we had to go and deal with the eviction of the worst tenant we have ever had 😕 Thankfully now behind us but the next decision is whether we let the house again or sell it. Normally we wouldn't think twice about this but our fixed rate mortgage ends next summer and I dread to think how much it might go up to. Crystal ball anyone? We treated ourselves to lunch in Wetherspoons after the house business was all sorted out. An 8" pizza was £5.45 - or there was a deal whereby you could have exactly the same pizza with a soft drink for £4.89. What a strange business model 🤷♀️
Mortgage brokers on MSE seem to think mortgage rates will settle down in the next few weeks. What’s the long term strategy? If it is long term income I’d be reluctant to sell. Then again the government treatment of mortgage interest as an allowable expense makes having a large mortgage on a BTL unattractive long term.

I have always wanted to try my hand at (a) speed dating and (b) tinder but they only came out after I stopped needing to date so I never got the chance....
...never say never though - I have never got the chance yet
Absolutely agree - save wasted journeys in particular and no additional cost for delivery. If you have an exemption card you upload that and no charge at all. Tweets, did you do it yet?
No i not done it yet i have visions every month faffing about ringing emailing them ringing doctors and getting more stressed than i do now .
So decided carry on Tesco sorry
You don't need to ring or email anyone tho so perhaps you're misunderstanding?
Just shout if you need help as plenty of us do it on here.
Coffee was most welcome this morning Sleazy. Thank you. Good morning Elite. Hoping everyone is warm, happy and well. Hugs to those not so. Just about to brave the thunder and lightning to walk to the bus stop. Fortunately not yet raining so don't need to extend metal pole into the sky! 😂
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
We've just had a cheap couple of hours out in town. It started off with free cocktails from Turtle Bay (check your app), then we went to Bella Italia for the free pasta, thanks TM! I now need to pedal home with a very full stomach 😆. I'm currently loitering outside Sainsbury's waiting for Mr FW to buy his squash/cordial for FlavorWiki. I bought mine earlier in Waitrose but I didn't want to get two sets there after the shenanigans when they got upset that we'd both bought the items from the same shop at the same time 🙄.
Did you have to pay for anything at Bella Italia freewheeling ? If I go it ll just be me and obviously I will buy a soft drink . Thanks

My best friend is single, she's a nurse, 53, intends retiring in about 15months and doing some travelling. She also won't care that I'm sharing this, we're NW if that's anywhere near you. If nothing else you could chat she's got a cracking sense of humour, you have to have to put up with me as a friend haha.
Updated to say I've spoken to her and she's up for a chat 😃

It was purchased as part of our retirement planning strategy - we've owned it for about 18 years now. The mortgage isn't huge and as rents have risen over the years it has become quite lucrative in terms of income. Based on information from the letting agent yesterday and at the current mortgage rate, we would be clearing around £600 per month before tax. If we sell we'd possibly be looking at a capital gain in the region of £80-90k but need the valuation to get a more accurate idea of this figure.

Good morning all, dry here at the moment though it rained overnight.
Thanks for the cuppa Sleazy Can I just say again, OH has never had a problem with his meds through the post, and he has been getting them that way for years. There's no faffing about emailing them, apart from the order, and no ringing doctors or anything like that. I believe you get an email reminder and then confirm that you want to order them (don't see OH's email). It is sooooo much easier than having to trail out to the chemists or whatever, finding out they don't have them and having to go somewhere else etc. It has to be worth a go surely?
Have some more tidying to do today, I had made plans around it raining all day but, annoyingly, so far it is dry.
That said, it is raining now.
Hugs to everyone xx
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

No you don't need to buy anything at Bella :-). Just show them the voucher number in the email and the pasta will be free. I had the ham hock carbonara, it's a pretty generous portion so take a box if you're not feeling super hungry!

We have a similar scenario. Owned for 16 years, probably increased in value by the same amount. We’ve suffered in that we have had the same tenant all this time who genuinely can’t afford more than housing benefit pays her so we have not increased the rent as much as we could do. Our mortgage runs out in 3 years at which point we have big decisions to make.
Josie i meant when my pills don't arrive like at Tesco and they don't let me know i will be faffing.
I wait for text from Tesco saying your prescription is ready.
When i don't i go chemist and find out one of pills not in then they tell me ring doctors for a substitute so sometimes can take 2 weeks get them.
I can't understand why Tesco chemist can't let customers know they not got said pill in all it takes is a text
They just arrive in the post and you get an email at every stage - one to say your doc's have approved it, next to say it's being prepared and the last one to say they're on their way - so no calls or chasing they just turn up!
