There is differences depending how you pay with Scottish Power Also according to their online community they can just add it to your account if your balance isn’t healthy enough. There are moans that some people with prepay smart meters were meant to have it added beginning of month as credit to use and that’s not happened 😞
My SIL is with different supplier and pays by DD and got her £66 into bank few days after her payment. Think she said Octopus.
I'm with Octopus and pay monthly by DD on receipt of a bill, so the £66 was taken off my bill for this month. It must vary between suppliers and methods of payment but it seems strange that Octopus would do it differently for different customers.
Am I understanding you correctly, you pay by DD what is billed each month rather than a regular amount for your DD? I’m also with Octopus, paying a regular amount by DD. They were going to deduct the £66/67 from my DD for the relevant 6 months but I asked them not to because life will be simpler that way (OH).

I’ll double check with her but she definitely had £66 into her bank as she thought it was just credit they owed her because she had done her meter reading end of September 🤦🏻♀️
She knew nothing about the £400 energy grant, how some people can be so out of the loop is beyond me. 🤷🏻♀️
I'm with British Gas and have no credit for my bill or in my bank yet, just checked. Don't understand why it just doesn't come straight off your bill.
It did with mine, Sue. That is the way it is supposed, and was intended by the Gov., to work. Some suppliers seem to be making it up as they go along.
Totally agree seems Scottish power are adverse to just lowering peoples DDs for few months. Probably gaining some interest on holding on to our money for over a week, nearly 2 weeks in fact. 😡
Been doing paperwork all morning No longer brings joy Used to love it when it all came together at work and I will need to review it a couple of times before handing it over to the accountant
Off out for some fresh air if you want to call it that Its rather wet again after yesterday turning out so nice but a change of scenery is required
Need to find room in the freezer for the stew I cooked yesterday

Yes that's right. I asked to be billed monthly on what I use so they only take as much as they need to. After years of utility companies taking larger DDs than necessary and consequently have money in their bank rather than mine, I decided enough was enough!
Not all suppliers will do it, as they obviously prefer you to be in credit with them - it's to their advantage after all - but Octopus were very happy to do it. Just ask if you prefer it that way.
If you don't have a smart meter as I don't then you need to remember to send a meter reading at the end of the month, but I don't find that a problem at all. At least I'm in control of what money they get their hands on!

Seasalt have some cute canvas bags in the sale from £1.95 - these would make good gift bags or if you are making themed gifts- if you are trying to get away from wrapping paper and the issues with recycling - postage is £3.50 or free click and collect from Seasalt shops (annoying as our local department store is a stockist but the nearest Seasalt store is in Chester)
There is one with a whale on the design - very good if you are buying "Whale and the snail" books and toys etc

Just a quick post - not been on for ages so apologies if already posted, and can't seem to find a separate page for Poundstretcher bargains. Anyway, these 250ml hand wash refills have been 50p for ages in my local store. A few weeks back they dropped to 20p and were situated on a shelf by the entrance, I bought a couple when they were 50p to see how my hands felt after washing as some antibac hand washes dry them out. They're fine, no pretty smell but that doesn't bother me. Anyway came back from our hols last week and noticed they'd been moved into the centre of the store in dump bins, I've stocked up, at 20p they're an absolute bargain. If you unscrew the whole cap from the bottle they drain very quickly and easily into the hand wash bottles.
They've also reduced the little Kleenex anti bac wipes to 15p, ideal for popping into a handbag/back pack for when you're out.
Thanks hampy. I bought the handwash for 50p from Boots before seeing your post.
I've only just managed to get to Poundstretcher today and picked up a few at 20p. So they are still out there. Many thanks.
Santander 2.75% easy access saving ends at midnight tonight as it is being withdrawn early due to demand. Available for existing or new Santander customers. It would be worth opening tonight just in case rates don't go higher (and free to move if they do).

Good morning all, foggy one here
Thank you for the cuppa Roma
I shall not look at the Seasalt sale. Problem is I have loads of bags from exhibitions etc! I have one of those big 4 wheeled shopping trollies full! They get used when people go away with things like air freshener lol, and they are awfully useful to grab on the way out.
Got some more chestnuts yesterday, must be a sucker for punishment
Hopefully off out on my bike today, though visibility needs to improve.
Morning 😊. I’m hoping someone might shed light on this as definitely too good to be true 😬
So DD clicks through a link on instagram stories for concert tickets for an artist. All the links looked legit for right websites, it’s at the O2, so final page was with axs.com.
Well 2 premium seats added to her basket for free she quickly went to checkout and it said she was leaving a single seat so she also added that still showing free for all three tickets so she checked out. She seems to have proper email confirmations with the tickets showing in the app. The only discrepancy I can see is the upcoming event page has the right date but 12am as the time, the confirmation emails had 6.30pm. 😬. But the axs app shows time of 6.30pm doors open on the actual tickets.
I know there are scams around from social media but not sure without any money taken whether this is a scam or a glitch?
Morning all, hugs to everyone DD4 who is with ovo paid her dd and then got the £66 paid into her account. which she has paid extra off her ovo, she is trying to keep it in credit. I am with Eon and not been billed this month yet i pay on receipt of bill so presume mine will be deducted off the total.
