I will join you in a tea sue☕, sleazy not around? You ok sleaze? Pizzing it down here, I'm sure someone said the other day they haven't had any rain, obviously don't live near me.
Magda, sorry to hear your sad news, I hope you can get the arrangements sorted.
Resident Teen update.......(feel free to skip)............ We finally had the rumour confirmed. The gf is pregnant 🙄😱😢. It has also been decided that he will be moving into supported living. ......can I just say I will not miss his Social Worker 🙄
TM, I shall try your Conker Laundry Liquid method on the next batch of conkers. Just don't want to have to give up freezer space 🤣 ......I have dried this batch to keep in a tin.
Back to the old routine of visiting MiL and a trip to the posh garden centre 🙂

Thank you for the tea and toast Sue
How's he going to cope in supported living Houseelf? It means he has to get up and do things! And what on earth are they going to do about the baby??? Sounds like life will start to get interesting, I am sure you will at least want updates on him.
Normal Saturday here, lots to do, but still taking some me time.
Hugs to everyone xx

Heard on the radio that cadburys mystery flavour 01 is rhubarb and custard and flavour 02 is blue raspberry slushie! I could honestly smell/taste hazelnut like bueno in the first one.
I had to mess about with a Xiaomi Redmi 10 - and use another app to reenable dual apps. I just bought a Xiaomi Poco M4 Pro and happy to see (just checked) dual apps is there under apps.
When I had a Google a while back it said the more expensive phones still had dual apps. Family member got a 5G Note 10 but that doesn't have dual apps. Any idea which app you used to get dual apps please.
I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned (well I haven't seen it) on HUKD that some of the Xiaomis don't come with the option for dual apps as they have done in the past.
I also read that Xiaomi decided to hide the feature on "lower specced" phones. I was useful for ATR. Recycling week I see.... I think I will start with a cull of phones. CEX here I come.
These are really soft, like the ones you get from the bakery counter in Tesco. Definitely worth a try if you have a few minutes in the morning.
You start the bread dough like a batter and slowly add the flour so the gluten develops a lot more easily than when you just knead it as a big lump of dough.

That sounds great Lalli, but way too much effort for me lol.
I have found the trick to really soft rolls in the breadmaker. 315 ml water, 1lb 2oz white extra strong flour, 1 instant yeast, 1.5 oz sugar, 1.5 oz butter, use the pizza setting for 45 mins, leave in breadmaker for 30-60 mins more, divide up into 16 and leave in oven for half an hour before cooking for 20 minutes on 210 or so. Come out lovely.
It was funny, ran out of milk powder when it was really difficult to get so just did it with water, it was the best thing I ever did with the bread!
Lovely sunny and mild day here today. Lots of jobs to do in the garden so it's perfect for that. Have already spent 2½ hours out there and just in for a coffee break then back to it.
Should get most of the jobs cracked off today if it stays like this, although ones needing the chainsaw will have to wait as I need to sharpen it first.

Thanks very much. I'll have a look when I have time.

Recycling week 🤔 Why this week?
Good Morning Peeps
Having a mini heatwave here so washing all the bedding etc. Simple things 🙂
Sorted garage out as you couldn't move in there. We do not need any washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, squash, beer, wine, seltzer or loo cleaner.
Got matt clearing leaves on the front garden lol
That looks a bit like my garage, I have just been in there hunting for some Heinz tomato Ketchup and surprisingly enough found it. Can't remember what glitch it was from, but years old and tastes fine.
Up much too early this AM for DD2 football match (match was not a disaster, friendly against a team in the division above and we were missing most of our defence and midfield starters, I thought it would be a massacre so 3-6 with 2 goals for DD was better than we might have hoped) where it was pretty sunny and definitely warm, then a downpour when we got home. This was good as it promoted me to see why the gutter was leaking so badly, the plant growing in the downpipe pretty much explained things. Unfortunately in a summer thunderstorm so much water had spilled out of the gutter onto the gazebo that the weight had actually snapped the roof supports so I think we will need a new one next year, sad as this one (second hand off the bay) was definitely superior and lasted about 5 years

I have spent the day chopping and peeling. I put the bread in, went shopping, came back and divided the bread up for buns. We then took a quick walk out to look at a road with a bungalow on it that is going up for sale, came back, cooked the rolls, cleaned out the birds, had a ten minute break for lunch, chopped a pepper, a couple of carrots, some tomatoes and broccoli and froze those down for Castor and Pollux's lunches Then I made soup for tonight and then we peeled a pound and a half of chestnuts.
Decided I deserve to sit down for a while now. We do have about another pound and a half of chestnuts to do, possibly tomorrow, with a couple of pounds in the freezer from a couple of days ago. Might have to nip out and get some more as they are very good this year.

Well E, my thoughts exactly! He needs to be careful what he wishes for……it sounds like they will be looking for somewhere which will concentrate on life skills. So, I am guessing he will have timetabled sessions in planning, shopping, budgeting and cooking meals. Time limited gaming etc etc. Curfew! It will also be further away from gf. …….Sad, as they have picked names for the baby, and think they are going to live happily ever after 💔
Mil was on top form! Stole SiL cup of tea. Tried to run off without her shoes, and was eyeing up another customers cake 🤣🤣🤣

Oh houseelf what a worry.
I think that's how supported living exists in utopia- and places will exist that offer all these things but I think they are rare now😕
In reality they will want to make sure that his housing benefit is in place and that he doesn't upset other residents, but over and above that it will be the luck of the draw. He will have to engage to make the most of it and from what you have said he may find that difficult.

Having done the supported living/homeless thing as a pregnant 17 year old I can confirm that success was measured by being up to date with rent and otherwise causing no trouble.
The other contributing partner in the pregnancy has just recently reached a stage in life where they have a stable job and are of an age where a place of their own is appealing at 41. Prior to this they were couch surfing, car living, sleeping rough etc.
The pregnancy itself is now 20.5 years post incubation and in breathable air.
I feel like resident teen would only benefit from having a sensible fall back adult and that teen mum could probably do with a supportive grownup too. And by supportive I mean telling them when they’re being idiots and not holding it against them.
Children don’t know what’s best for them, I tried to run away in year 6, I finally left home in year 11, I thought I was a grownup who could look after myself. I ended up in sheltered housing at 17, pregnant with a full time job and just enough money to pay my bills, train ticket to work and buy a bag of carrots and a head of celery each week.
I was a child. I can see that now. I learned to manage with what I had available and made sure at least one of my jobs always provided food. But I look back and I see how much I thought I was a grownup and how much I could have used an actual adult who was present in my life.
