I used to live in Yarm, not far from there, yet never went
Thank you, Josie.
So that's a £1 for probably 6 whole bears, 2 heads and a couple of body parts.
The house and grounds look lovely, though.
And that isn't even the front of the house. The beautiful front opens up to a grassed fenced area where perfect cartoon sheep graze. They are celebrating 60 years of National Trust ownership throughout October so I think everything was in tip top condition.
Here's to Jim and Ruth the last owners of the property who are sadly no longer around to see its beauty.
the cheese and onion pasties were soooooo good. They must employ a very good pastry chef as everything is made on site.

I visited Charlecote Park this week. I'm always happy to keep my NT membership going.
Now, if it were me, I’d take everything out one piece at a time, put them on the side, completely reorganise the drawer and still not find the tin opener.
Have you tried looking in/under where you do the washing up?
(I have several can openers and scissors hidden around the kitchen for these situations. Do you have a spare?)
The latter would be more practical in terms of space but price and running costs pretty much rule it out.
Does anyone have any other recommendations for a dehydrator with wire trays, in particular ones that you can buy spare parts for if you happen to smash one (or all) important component

Been saving my toothpaste tubes to recycle at either JL or Boots, and have so far managed to upload 5 pics to the Scan2Recycle website. What a faff! And is it actually worth doing? Just had an email from Boots today promoting the scheme, and as I understand it you will only receive your 500 points if you make a £10 purchase instore within 3 days. I do not want to spend £10 cash! Oh bother. Has anyone found a good deal which could change my mind?
Will investigate the JL scheme a bit more. At one stage this let me have Liz Earle shampoo for an affordable price but cannot remember details 🙄.
Lurker and trying to find offers to contribute to this site but alas not found any yet so I feel a bit off asking. Can anyone recommed a cheap `smart` phone able to take clear photos of receipt. I have phone but it will not let meupdate apps as it is an old model and says I need to update to ios 13 which it won`t do. I usually have PAYG but prepared to go on a cheap monthly tariff.
TIA.
Hope everybody, especially the poorly ones are feeling a lot better today. I do wish everybody good health and happiness. x
Welcome shione 👋
iPhone or Android? Are you up for learning a new system?
I normally start on hukd and read lots of comments on the mobile threads to work out what to look for.

Thanks for your reply. I am up for anything new. Am a bit slow at times but I get there. I have an iphone4 and my other half an Android phone but I will look on hukd. It`s about time I bought a new phone instead of having handmedowns but the tight g** (careful person) that I am it will be hard. Thanks again and take care. x

If you use it for cashback apps etc. the Xiaomi used to have a split screen so you can have two on the same app on the one phone. Handy for different accounts.

I am very much for iphones and I have worked my way through the various versions - my iphone 4 was a perfectly good phone and there are millions of them out there still in daily use in the world - the issue was the updates. OH had an old Samsung so when it started having issues I got a Motorola from Argos - not sure what version it is but they start at under/around a hundred - which sounds like a lot but its so much cheaper than iphones and the battery life is so much longer - moto gets a charge twice a week but the iphone has a daily charge. With the right collection of cashback apps etc you can recoup the money over a year easily - probably much sooner. I swap between my iphone and the motoral with ease now - both have good cameras Get a sim free phone and a basic contract with whoever gives the best network coverage in your area

Waitrose have sent me some conditional spends - £2 for a £10 spend - has anyone got any good suggestions for spending £10 in Waitrose? I also have waitrose giftcards but I am not sure of the balances - is there a balance checker anywhere?

I feel very gullible and rather stupid. Had the wooden side gates fitted a couple of weeks ago and paid cash, even though the left one needed adjusting and he hadn't put the latches on. But he was running out of daylight and promised to come back the next day. Thought I was quite a good judge of character, but not this time. Haven't seen him since, not replying to emails and phone just rings and goes onto answering service, to which he is not responding.

Where did you get his details from? At the very least I would go on your local Facebook and put on a factual account, along with photos, of what he did and didn't do to stop him doing the same to others.

Before feeling gullible and stupid, consider there may be another explanation. It is possible he is ill?
Your hunch may be correct, but there may be another explanation.

My Tower air fryer (like an oven) has wire trays and a dehydrator setting.
Ok just jumping in on the conker laundry detergent idea with some info that might make it all a little clearer. I know houseelf is already doing so please feel free to contribute he🤗🤗
Wash your conkers. Chop up 130g. Freeze the rest for later use. If they are freshly picked they cut with a sharp knife no problem. If they are "old" you need to smash them with a hammer. The shiney bright brown ones are the newer fresher ones. See the first photo to see the difference.
Scald your 130g conkers with 500ml boiling water, leave to soften. Then blitz and strain. Add a further 500ml and strain again.
Put in a jar.
It will keep for up to 5 weeks.
Put it straight into your machine in a cap. The one I have in the photo is a bit small I think. I've noticed that it's settled a bit so I'll have to give the jar a shake before I use it or strain it a third time. The used up mush can go on your compost heap.
You can add an essential oil. I haven't any. Could I add perfume?🤔🤔

Thanks Picasso. I’ve had a look at the tower ones but I think for the amount of time they need to run, they will be too small to justify the cost. One review I saw compared it to being able to dehydrate 1 pineapple or 5 pineapples for the same cost/time. And the air fryer part is too small for us to use on a regular basis.
I was looking at the instant pot air fryer attachment a while back but apparently they don’t sell it here as a separate lid.
