Getting a bit worried. Everyone I know that has had 4th booster had a sore arm after. I never got anything. Hope they really did give me a jab lol. After the flu jab (week before) I got a sore arm for a few days.
I never got anything either gocat but I did get a bluntish needle which hurt at the time
Seriously? The needles are new and sterile, I can’t see how they could be blunt. More likely your arm wasn’t in a good position or you tensed or flinched as the needle went in.
Well that's what the lady said . I don't usually flinch but this time I said ow that hurt and she said I know ( do nt know how she knew) some needles aren t as sharp as they should be . So I don't know . I was ok after though.
My 79th donation is next week - my blood type is les sof use but they always find someone to use it somewhere in the North West - I have been in all of the best hospitals north of Birmingham
Last time I got a message with a map of the journey my blood took to the central sorting depot and beyond
Was reading that the main reason they are short of blood is that the blood donor service is short of staff. I looked online at local job vacancies and there are some, but the requirements (apart from the obvious) are to be willing to drive a 15 seater mini bus or equivalent sized van and the work is shifts, 8 long shifts over 14 days. Shifts allocated upto 8 weeks in advance, working hours would be 6am- 5.30pm or 10am to 9pm. I doubt that many people want the hassle of not having consistent working days each week combined with long hours.

Well done!
any blood group is in demand as it means the O- can be saved for emergencies. When I was at school, one of the teachers had blood that was more “negative than O-“ (I did get the explanation, but it’s too long to type) and the blood donor service would send a taxi to collect him when they were particularly in need.
Same here cant give blood due to having had cancer. Shame as I'm O neg Use to give blood when I was younger. Very grateful to those that do give. Have had to had 3 blood transfusions in the past.
I'm o neg too gocat . A friend of mine said she had both at the same time with one person either side of her giving a flu jab in one and the Covid one in the other .

oh and Good Morning all 😀
That is the protocol, so that if you had a localised bad reaction, you would know which vaccine caused it.
I intend having mine 2 weeks apart. Though I can understand getting it all done in one appointment, particularly if you don't live near a vaccine centre.
Glad to hear everyones thoughts on blood donation.little miss had an operation last week and its the first time ive been in a hospital waiting like that in a long time. Anyways she's doing well but the lack of blood I heard this week worried me.
I put a message out to my existing team. My old team and my new team. It was then shared by group leads all over the company. I think we have 6000 people.
I'm hoping it leads to lots of donations. So just a reminder that these people at the end of the phones that are helping with your enquiries, are also happy to go give blood and save lives out of work.
So, excitement yesterday…..Resident Teen brought the gf over. She didn’t speak. If only she was that quiet when she is on the phone in the middle of the night 🤣🤣🤣
Two big meetings today😱
Don’t people realise I haven’t got time for this? I need to go to Iceland. I have to catch up on all the free curry’s everyone has been getting 🤣
Have a lovely day 🙂
Can I please ask what the deal is on the curry.
Check out the Iceland thread upstairs tbw. I've just put a quick post on to pull it up to the top of the page for you🤗

best wishes to little miss. Your intervention will have helped save lives❤️❤️❤️
I do hope so TM. and weirdly a real bonding. Like our lovely group here, people have their burdens.
We have a cancer survivor in our team. Noone knew. Weve been so busy and wfh you don't get the office conversations. Others had various blood disorders auto immune. It led to some wonderful stories and a little less work as we were quieter. Boss was off lol. Leave me in charge its just a coffee morning ha ha.
Watching television awards and can't believe how close Bradley and Barney are they having so much fun.
Wish my DS had the same with his dad but sadly alcohol and his pathetic lying put paid to that
We have rain again lol
But you are a great role model tweets and from the sounds of it DS's dad would not have been supportive or nurturing❤️❤️ Funny how things turn out but it's often for the best❤️

We are back in the office now but it's just not the same as it was pre Covid. Loads of new people for a start and people are ........well....different😕
Lurker and trying to find offers to contribute to this site but alas not found any yet so I feel a bit off asking. Can anyone recommed a cheap `smart` phone able to take clear photos of receipt. I have phone but it will not let meupdate apps as it is an old model and says I need to update to ios 13 which it won`t do. I usually have PAYG but prepared to go on a cheap monthly tariff.
TIA.
Hope everybody, especially the poorly ones are feeling a lot better today. I do wish everybody good health and happiness. x
Free admission but spent £16 in cafe on really good home made pasty and cake🤗🤗🤗

We visited Ormesby Hall in the summer, on the way home from our Durham holiday. Lovely place. DH would have watched the train set for hours if we hadn't had a long drive ahead.

I'm wondering how much those Pom-Bears are.
It says £1 if you zoom in.
I used to live in Yarm, not far from there, yet never went
I am a proud owner of dehumidifier now curtesy of lidl. Quite pleased I got it, used it 3-4 times now in the bathroom and landing to get humidity levels down. It has laundry mode, which is good for light clothing. It blows air from the top in the direction of washing - quite hard to get the two lined up in the "right" place though I found. I read the manual top to bottom and it mentions a washable carbon filter. I checked my machine and it wasn't there. Took it back for exchange and the second one doesn't have it either. So must be a mis print in the manual. I have ordered a carbon filter from amazn to go into dehumidifier, should arrive next week. Reached freebies with this purchase - £2 off and a free W5 cleaning item + bakery.
