I was just looking at those Bisto sachets today. I initially thought they were ready made gravy until I spotted them.
50p for 24g when you can buy 250g of Bisto Best for £2.00 in Tesco.
So for the equivalent of a 250g glass jar you are paying £5.
😱😱
That's not good for families on a tight budget who can't do the maths😕
They are normally £1, so vey expensive for what you get ... if we were paying for them 🙂.
How busy do you have to be to need gravy granules pre-measured for you ... but then there must be a market or they wouldn't sell them and plenty of other convenience foods out there.
That said, how many of these type products will survive the sustainability/waste agenda - yes you can recycle the packaging, but reducing the amount of packaging used (for larger packs) may be better 🤔. Or would that just create more waste food - lots to think about 😇.
I've always made my own gravy, fat from the meat, stock, browning, plain flour to thicken, water from the boiled veg. Don't think that's 50p🤔, both my kids have been trained 😂
'Good' news in that MIL is due to come out of hospital in Bucharest tomorrow. FIL very happy, WiFi (knowing how her father is), would have rather her mum stayed in a bit longer. I suppose that because things seem pretty grim out there atm, they perhaps need the bed ...
Acorn thoughts here; Has anyone noticed the complete lack of acorns this year? We have 8 at the bottom of our garden. This year so far not a single acorn! Last year we were picking up bagfuls,?
