FWIW I think it is fine as it is. It's worked well that way for a long time and I don't think 'it's broke' so no need to fix it.
I've no objection to an upstairs, as I mentioned the saving and pensions etc discussions and things like the slimming and gambling threads which not everyone is interested in have a place there....my objection was to the ongoing Deliveroo deal, that had be discussed perfectly fine on this thread and the last (and still on there), then someone says should this go upstairs and boom it was gone.....it felt like we were trying to hide a deal.
As you were
"He that lieth down with dogs shall rise up with fleas" Benjamin Franklin
....And look at the example she's setting....she flits in and out as she pleases ,sometimes goes months without us seeing her and with due respect doesnt always provide a glitch everyone is interested in or indeed partakes in
but on the whole shes given a very warm and supportive welcome when she returns
Lets be more like the glitch fairy!
Sorry strawberri who are you referring too ?🤣

Thats because it was being smashed to its last penny.I didn't get anything in the end but spend 30 mins trying. Everything was dearer except the pizzas.
And frankly you lot cost me money and calories at times 🤣
I get what you're saying in making it open for anyone, let everyone have 1 of something instead of a few getting it all and I get what others are saying that its not fair as they have done the work. However the same could be said for HUKD. We cherry pick that constantly and its an open forum.
Im not sure there is a solution Locarr. It will be like everything else, majority rules. Our little society is a direct replica of the society out there.
Right life awaits. I'm not around so much life is busying up. Much plans afoot.

I twigged after(I read backwards) and added a smiley. Sorry lass. Good posts from you today x
Putting an on-line Sainsburys order in for Easter and it looks like they are doing 25% off 6 bottles of wine then. It is not showing for the shop we are doing this week.
Give it a google E ...Its a sofa company...if you order some samples of fabric then they may include a chocolate surprise in your package.
The offer has been around for quite a while albeit quite low key...I guess they are a smallish company wanting to attract business...I will say their sofas are expensive but I have had one for around 18 months and its really good quality.
You dont need to commit to anything but its probably one of those freebies that will get discontinued if there is a mass of interest in just getting the chocolate.
Expect it to be pulled at short notice or once the choc allocation is reached

Ah, seen the sample offers but not looked any further, shall go now and order. Thank you.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I'm hearing what you say Foxy...and I agree if something isn't broke it doesn't need fixing...but you do sometimes need to adapt things or generally maintain them.
Currently there are 6 or maybe even 7 pages of threads upstairs...most of which are not used. They potentially need streamlining a little to see if they are still current or can be culled.
If there were less threads upstairs, but more targeted ones it may make it more user friendly for all both in terms of ease to find and generally getting everyone to explore up there rather than with each random idea to move something upstairs then generates a thread for discussion there.
The deliveroo thread is a prime example...it will be the flavour of the month and then drop to obscurity.
On the other hand the sainsburys thread there is brilliant...quick posts, little chat and an easy reference point for a wednesday morning visit to S...
I too am in favour that pensions or gambling is separate simply because its got a specific target audience...same if we were to have a pregnancy thread...I'm sure there might be interest for some but its one that I'm more than happy those days for me are something to drift past me nowadays!
Thing dont need to be broke before you take a gentle brush to it to clean...or a coat of paint to refresh...

Does it really matter if there are pages of threads though? They are sorted by the last posting date so you can easily see which have essentially run their course.

But have they run their course...or are they just not used in the way that they were intended when set up.... Again at the risk of pointing out something or someone...competitions...lets have a thread for those....its an ongoing thing but no one regularly adds to it....recipes is the one i pointed out earlier its well down the list but still a viable thread if its used...the same is likely to happen for the one recently set up for seed swaps ...a really good idea but one that will drop quickly if not added to in the next few days and not to be confused with the giveaway/swaps which seems to be predominantly daily mail codes posted by ollie

I am with Foxy, and BB just now. DM I also think its sad that a lot of members no longer post but that's their prerogative
There is very little going on in anyone's life at present so mundane it will remain till we can all scoot about and have interesting things to chat about
TBH there are IMO fewer and fewer deals to be had but its always good when someone posts one

Mrs mac I hope you didnt take my words the wrong way....I actually love to read your daily morning posts....they have given me a sense of normality over the past however long...I enjoy the mundane.
I by my own admission have never found a glitch, rarely find a deal, dislike gin, cruising and horseracing and only recently have I got into cashback bits and bobs....but that doesnt mean to say I dont enjoy the interaction with the gin lover or the cruiser.
By pushing things into a compartment upstairs I fear that those who simply want to interact with others on the thread here will disappear.
This main thread doesnt move anywhere near as fast as it did in the heady days of glitching ....if and when those days return I hope there will be the footfall through here to support a revival By all means stick the stuff upstairs but not to the expense of people forgetting to post here,or just using here as a place to remind people that "its already been posted elsewhere"....we need to keep here open for general conversation of the mundane stuff...its the mundane that keeps us ticking over....I had a low point a few days ago...I could have quite easily just walked away afterwards and never posted again...thats how you lose posters....look at the guests that footfall through here daily...read and go.The board survives when posters use it...thats where the community is and thats what needs protecting. Without the people who post the cream glitches and indeed the mundane the board would die.
I can probably give you 6 or 7 posters who dont post as much as they used to...simply because they have been challenged on a few occasions over what they are posting....I'm not about to name names but its a shame that some of the elite who have been here years now feel they are better suited to reading rather than posting in the way they used to.

Completely agree with that, it really doesn't matter how many there are as the less used/expired ones will drop down the page naturally.
From reading the comments on here this morning I think the majority of the members are quite happy with the way things are. There's no need to change something that doesn't need changing if there are only a handful of people who don't like it.
I think it is working really well at the moment, juicy stuff generally gets a mention here, the details go upstairs, less mainstream stuff goes in the right thread upstairs where it is easy to find. For example sains 20p stuff - there is a thread upstairs that anyone regular can consult if they are planning a trip to Mr S - but if someone finds a few specific goodies they can drop a message here that they have updated the Sains thread upstairs.
I try and make my random postings on here at least have some money saving aspect, for example car service I mentioned I got 15% off by asking for a price match which probably everyone does already but it was money saving.

Well at least its got us all communicating.
There's nothing worse than no debate...and hopefully we are being respectful with eachother even if we may not agree

25% off 6 wine at t at the moment until the 6th, I think.

I think we do that all the time. This new thread is already up to 7 pages and it only started a couple of days ago. Maybe people just don't have as much to chit chat about while we are all in this enforced 'house arrest' situation.
