I've tried offering drinks, but they don't want them (very strange) have brought their own. Stuck in kitchen at the moment , on third cup of coffee, sort of watching t.v and pretending to be busy on the computer, but can't really concentrate.
When i had the gas leak, the engineer then and when they came to fix it properly after said they were not allowed to because of Covid , but i still asked, also it was FREEZING when the emergency engineer came and he was here outside for 2 1/2 hrs!! Then when we had the boiler service this week, he was not allowed either
I'm glad we can make our own choice on this! Saying that, we always take drinks anyway, OH takes a flask and I take some squash (can't stand flask tea ) but we mostly take up the offer when asked
We never mind what the client does when we are in their home, but we prefer them not to watch as it is rather offputting! I should imagine they are barely aware you are in the room.
That said, our jobs keep getting put back at the moment, we had one lined up for Wednesday but the client forgot he had something on!!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
None allowed in UK now without a negative covid test.
Feeling a little shutting the barn door after the horse is bolted ....
Coupled with the latest announcement that all travel corridors are suspended from Monday. So anyone arriving from abroad has to isolate.
Must be annoying if you arranged your holiday before these announcements. So suddenly you need a negative test to come home AND have to isolate once your back.
You can't go on holiday abroad at the moment so it would only be relevant for essential / work travel not holiday makers.
Well I am relaxing, and watching another episode of Transplant recommended by our own BB
I saw the first few minutes of the pilot when it was first aired and thought it was about a war torn medical so did not watch it Its not, it's set in a large city and its great and no transplant ops yet
Snow has gone to be replaced by heavy rain overnight and think it may still be raining
Usual mundane list and a couple of phone calls to catch up with some oldies

Essential travellers include those travelling to visit very sick relatives in hospital. also will have a major impact on the holiday industry as will put people off booking future holidays. if anything this pandemic has taught us we can manage to work from home if necessary, but creates a reluctance to book anything.
I need your advice please. I need to sell an 8 year old car that needs repairs, it can't be driven at the moment (blown head gasket is mechanics' guess). I don't want to scrap it as it's still a lovely car if repaired.
I was told ebay is a best place for it. I haven't sold anything on ebay in ages and need an idiot's guide. I think I want to list it as "buy it now" and "auction" and put a reserve on it. Does that sound right? In terms of ebay fees - what can I do to pay the minimum? And any ideas how much it will cost me if I sell it on ebay?
Thank you!
what payment option is best to accept? I have Paypal, but don't want the buyer to be able to "recall" the payment??
Payment options
PayPal

Postal order/Banker's draft
Personal cheque
Credit cards

Have you considered a motor auction? Our local one is still trading online. They'd collect it from you and there'd be no hassle dealing with buyers.
DS birthday today and he is on the other side of the world. I'm not being sentimental or sad as he is safe and he is happy. What more can I ask for in a global pandemic🤔
My DS birthday too. Not the other side of the world like yours, but far enough away that I’ve only seen him twice since last January. But, like you, Im happy knowing it’s safer that way xx

I wouldn’t do eBay as a first option, do you have Facebook as I’d put it on marketplace then insist on cash as it’s likely to be local .... what’s the make?

People cant do a paypal recall over a motor sale, it does not cover those, but in fairness I have never had anyone try to pay with paypal for a car. You are also allowed to put that you will not accept paypal in the ad on ebay if it is for a car, in fact I think (but not sure) you can select patment you accept, and if you dont select paypal, it does not give them the option to pay that way). I personally would be cash only, unless if was more than a couple of grand. I would not bother with a reserve, but start the auction at the lowest you would be happy to accept. Also be brutally honest in your description, and put it as spares/repair.

True, my brother is worried about the implications and costs of this in Spain if he had to stay longer and the cost of the test for his holiday in June.
Although TUI were reporting massive increases on holiday bookings last week. Hope this translates into an uptick in the shares in the medium term as was lucky to get them at £2.90 😁.
Good afternoon, just been to M&S they had turkey trays 20p I find these great as I can Chuck everything in, bin it & so much less washing up. I did £4.00 for one b4 Christmas so stocked up while I could. They also had 29095490 Belgian hot chocolate it is M&S collection ( heavenly hot chocolate selection) £8.00 reduced to £2.00 but went through at 20p..... I was debating whether to leave 2, only 4 on the shelf bb 05/10/21 Keep your eyes peeled, I'll pop in & try other m&s next week. Hope ye find some as I'm always asking for help and never giving. Have a great day. 😬
All of my cards have various 20% off various types of clothing - no free daffs but I have had some very good freebies from the main card.
Can anyone guess when the 70% sale might be? Mind you last year the best sale items I got in the 70% sale were from Stafford or the M&S on the hill - our store is tiny. If it does not happen until February this year then possibly we might have less restrictions on movement ...
This morning we just went up to Sainsburys as a kind Magnum -animous person sorted me out with an issue Also got the other Bahlsen biscuits but no corn snacks.
I did find where they have hidden the dregs of Christmas so I got a spare pack of normal cards for 25p for OH- the grey herringbone ones. Also checked the mens clothing and I found an unlabelled Christmas PJs, green tartan check, long trousers and these went through the till for £1. If they dont fit I will donate them - they are medium and look roomy enough but with the amount of snacking OH does ....
Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains

If anyone has any recommendations for shares, I could do with some. Not got much, but have £1k I want to put into some now that hopefully the end is in sight. May be too late now of course as looking at the Tui ones, they have rocketed this last month.
FC was right, The Serpent (BBC1 iPlayer) is a great crime drama - I have lost Friday night and most of Saturday as I have watched it all now 😱. Based on a true story too, 8 episodes just short of an hour each.
So much for delayed gratification - boxed sets will be the death of me 🤔.

Please do start one upstairs - it will have to have the usual caveats about it not being financial advice, do your own research, all decisions your own, etc.
Speaking of Dr Marten's - have you seen the price of them now 😱. I was just looking on Am4zon for 1461 pw black - they are over £120 😱😡.
