Many moons ago I worked in a further education college teaching maths to kids who had failed their exams and needed maths to advance themselves in their other subjects but were held back by their lack of a maths pass.
A change of leadership and the course was cut right down on the grounds it wasn’t producing high enough results. So annoying as I wasn’t aiming for a couple of the kids to get As, I was aiming for as many as possible to get pass grades.
So true silvercar, scenario applies to my granddaughter - she needs to achieve whatever number is now the equivalent of the old C pass grade.
I’m in a support bubble with DD (baby under 1) & a childcare bubble with her. She has never needed me more. The baby screams every time you put him down. It’s so tiring. I look after him on my 2 days off & work FT. It’s so, so hard but there is no one else & I am lucky I get to see him & hug him xx
Sorry to hear that the baby is still crying. Dd has one, he is 2 in March and still whinges constantly, I don't know how she copes. Through the first lockdown they stayed with us for 3 months, but dgd has still been going to nursery so they stayed at home this time. They came for 3 nights for my birthday but it meant they didn't see their dad for 10 days before so she didn't get the break she normally would. I, like you am very grateful that we are allowed to see them as I know so many of my friends who haven't seen theirs since last March.
It was lovely to see our friends last night. I made a veggie curry and took it over. They live a 5 minute walk away so it's very quick to get over there. :-)
It's damp here this morning but meant to clear up soon. Mr FW needs to put a new chain on his bike then the plan is to go out cycling.
Morning all. Woke up with excitement expecting to see snow on the ground as was forcast. Not even a touch of frost lol. Up now, so might as well do some surfing of the net and then might pop back to bed for a while. Might be rewarded with some snow later. Dont want too much. Not greedy. Just enough to cover the ground for a few hours, then it can melt and go elsewhere

Thank you for tea loverly jubberly.
Me and the boy have been for our morning walk. Not much snow left today but it was raining heavily so I expect it to be a gradual warm up during the day. Might even reach a tropical 8 degrees today.
Housework has been done and first load of washing is in. Next job is a trip to Lidl for the weekly shop. Not that I need a lot, due to the fact that I am trying to eat what I have in the freezer.
Day 16 of dry January Didn't think I would make 16hrs so things are looking up, and the diet is going well.

Woken up to a light dusting of snow but it's raining now so will hopefully be gone soon. I need to walk down to the PO later but other than that I think I'll hibernate all weekend.
Wow Nellie just looked at the price of them 😱 £41 odd for 4, would only want two anyway lol. One way of not getting fat eh. But I'm glad you knew what I meant . Hope you all are keeping well .
Having 7 radiators replaced for bigger ones and an extra one put in today. Not sure where I am supposed to sit or what I can do to occupy myself all day as two chaps seem to be all over the house and in every room.

It's horrible as you feel like you are in the way all the time, just keep offering drinks 😂
ive been faffing about for ages with a £10 off a Lookfantastic referral code which isn't working. I've given up.
oh the weather is awful here today😕
just had a message from DD. She is leaving food at our door tonight and has told me not to cook. Unsure if it's a takeaway or what🤔But I'm excited. I'll take a photo😊
DS birthday today and he is on the other side of the world. I'm not being sentimental or sad as he is safe and he is happy. What more can I ask for in a global pandemic🤔
Good morning all still have ice on the paths so looks like it might be another housebound day I can see a bit of blue sky so I am hoping it might melt and I can get out for a walk but hubby has just said there is a severe weather warning.

I need your advice please. I need to sell an 8 year old car that needs repairs, it can't be driven at the moment (blown head gasket is mechanics' guess). I don't want to scrap it as it's still a lovely car if repaired.
I was told ebay is a best place for it. I haven't sold anything on ebay in ages and need an idiot's guide. I think I want to list it as "buy it now" and "auction" and put a reserve on it. Does that sound right? In terms of ebay fees - what can I do to pay the minimum? And any ideas how much it will cost me if I sell it on ebay?
Thank you!
what payment option is best to accept? I have Paypal, but don't want the buyer to be able to "recall" the payment??

Tell you what I use for that sort of thing Susie, I was fortunate to be in a Lakeland store when there was some heavily reduced base lines, basically circles of baking paper. I grabbed them thinking I may or may not use them, but they are fantastic, all you have to do is grease and flour the edge of the tin and they just turn out I only use them in the shallow tins, I have a better way of lining deep tins, but I would highly recommend them
Hope all are keeping well
No daffs on my Sparks, need to go down Mr T next to an M&S next week anyway, rather annoying but there we go, have had very little of use on my Sparks for some time, this time they have given me 20% off socks among other things, I will never need to buy socks again with the amount I have from the T £5 glitch and some very cheap ones from Top Shop a few years back!

aww di sorry to hear about your dd baby too. My GS goes from 1 to 100 in 10 seconds, blood curdling screaming then as soon as you pick him up he is fine. I cant get anything done when he is with me and I work FT & see him on other days too (to support DD) so life at the moment is fast paced for me xx

I've tried offering drinks, but they don't want them (very strange) have brought their own. Stuck in kitchen at the moment , on third cup of coffee, sort of watching t.v and pretending to be busy on the computer, but can't really concentrate.

When i had the gas leak, the engineer then and when they came to fix it properly after said they were not allowed to because of Covid , but i still asked, also it was FREEZING when the emergency engineer came and he was here outside for 2 1/2 hrs!! Then when we had the boiler service this week, he was not allowed either

Can you lock yourself in the loo😂😂
Would love to go to the loo, but can't go while there is anyone around, sounds silly, but too embarrassed. Will have to stop drinking coffee and keep my legs crossed all day
