Right, thanks, I understand the dilemma now. Can't help on where to put it that won't lose you money because everywhere rates are pretty abysmal and, unfortunately it seems, due to get worse.
Yep - found somewhere I could put 35k at 2.25% but who knows if that rate will last. Can also pay off 10% without penalty, otherwise it seems that the best I can get is about 1.45%. Seems a shame to give up the credit line but if I am having to pay 0.5% (£5 per £1000) just for the privilege then I think it will have to go. There is no way anyone would ever lend me nearly so much in the future given what has happened with affordability rules etc since I first switched to this bank 7 years ago. It's been another stunning sunny day here :-). I went for a long run this morning, then spent the afternoon down the allotment. Everything has been sown, I'm just waiting for the seeds to germinate now. I have everything a good water as it's been so dry here. We had a couple of rumbles of thunder in the distance but it didn't ever make it here.
I've got the fire pit going and I'm waiting for enough embers to build up before we start making dinner on it. It's going to be a kind of chicken curry.
All these positives, it makes me happy to read all the productive, positive posts. Have finally gifted most of the new garden furniture that I bought when T stopped doing the online home & garden and it glitched superbly . I have kept the other brand new petrol mower and posh cushions plus some hoses etc but the super posh metal set was gifted to ds2 and wife and the loungers to ds1 and wife so finally got some storage space . I think the petrol mowers were about £25 a pair lol x

Yes if you have a child you can borrow. 25k for each one - they need to be a virgin though.
Can I ask is the 2.25% still available please michaels, thanks x

I can only say truly thank God we have Boris, after all Corbyn is 70 or so and would need to be self isolating.
OK, I know Boris has been ill, but at least he is coming out of it and will be back at the helm very soon.
As for all the idiots that have said the wrong thing about Boris being ill, it just shows the true colours of the loony left.
I find these posts offensive. Completely off topic and inflammatory. I would normally ignore them but I think they are particularly insensitive when so many of us feel like collateral.
This government promised everywhere would have enough PPE on 17th March when Jeremy Hunt asked them in the select committee yet we still have carers, doctors and nurses ill eqipped.
They knew it was going to be a tsunami of death and chose Cheltenham.
I do feel like politics should be kept out of the main thread (at the moment). I also must hold my hands up to bringing politics up on here, but at this time, I dont feel it is a good idea. Now, a different thread just about politics, that people could visit or avoid, now that would be a great idea. Zippy, get it started up, and while you are on, this thread is almost at its end, so get a new one of these up too please
At this moment in time, we all need to stick together. We have a Cov-19 thread upstairs for the more in-depth conversations about it, and anyone is welcome to open a politics thread (may even be fun, since QT has now lost its appeal!) but here is not the place to argue, about anything. We need this, and we need each other. Thread closed as I am worried Anon will 'clean it' (i.e. delete it ) New thread is here.... elitemoneysaving.freeforums.net/thread/217/elite-thread
