Good morning all, glorious day here:
Loads of hugs to go around, but a specially tight one for BB for whatever reason.
Might go out to T's later this morning, keep forgetting to get a couple of bits I need when I go down there so will have to go specifically for them lol.
Other than that, might get out in the garden.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
Thanks for the hugs guys, sorry didn't mean to be one of those cryptic posts. I was absolutely exhausted.
Thanks for the hugs all gratefully received.
Little miss hasn't been too well last while. Lots of tests. They've give her everything from betablockers to laxatives. The 5th doctor she seen yesterday sent her straight to admissions. Suspected appendicitis. Then practitioner said probably gall bladder. Wait for doctor. Doctor came this morning so away for ultrasound.
We literally sat at hospital all day and night. Should hear later on hopefully. I'm sure she will be fine but with her history of kidney issues we always worry.
I know there's a lot worse off so sorry for making this central.
Fingers crossed for a resolution as whatever it is , its restricted her life since May.
Big hugs back thanks for just always being here xx
Update : neither thing. Internal infection. High does antibiotic her 3rd type and home x

Hugs to Bananababe and little Miss, children cause us so much worry and stress without realising it. On Monday 1 of my sons had a life threatening anaphalactic shock and collapse and was rushed to hospital where we was kept for several hours. He could barely breathe and was unable to talk. He injected himself with his epi pen which did help but at hospital was put onto a drip and was given a cocktail of steroids, anti histamines and fluids. Eacjh time this happens his attacks get worse and this was the most severe yet .He is allergic to hazelnuts and had eaten a small lemon meringue tart bought in Paris over the weekend .He checked the allergens list and the only things on there were gluten, eggs, milk and peanuts. I think he was really frightened and hope that now he will always have his Epi pen with him.

It's terrifying seeing one of our children (no matter how old) so ill. Make sure you take time to process what's happened as part of your self care x
The trigger could be something other than nuts.
When DS3 was about 10, he had a similar reaction when he stroked a cat. At A&E, a consultant sat with us for hours in a single room.
I thought it was because there were some drunk adults nearby. It took a friend who's a doctor to explain that they were there as his airways had nearly closed up. They were attempting to avoid drastic intervention. He'd never had a reaction before. Allergy tests showed he wasn't allergic.... we thought it was just that one particular cat, but ever since, he has some sort of reaction to a small number of animals. I swear our children turn us grey x
Thank you Bananababe and sunshinemummy,it was definitely hazelnuts as it turned out that hazelnut flour was used in the pastry. He has contacted the bakery and suggested that it needs to be added to the list of allergens as the doctor told him that it is not uncommon to have an allergy to hazelnuts.
Allergies are a worry. DS2 was allergic to nuts, but he seems to have grown out of it. Trial and error, not a recommended way of finding out. Deep sigh!
It looks like DS2+wife could be moving in with us. They made the decision to give notice on their rental place before exchanging on their purchase. They didn't want to be paying rent and a mortgage for nearly 2 months, so if it doesn't go to plan they will move in with us. That will be interesting! If their purchase is delayed it will only be for a few weeks. If they lose the house it could be for longer.
It will be interesting, not sure if we will all eat together, which would make sense, or whether they want to live independently. I will have to do a big clear our of some rooms, apparently she comes with a lot of clothes!
you wont be surprised to learn that i do have the covid. tested again earlier coz its DD2 yr 6 play so im not going. im also not going to work tomorrow. im gutted because i wanted to see her last performance and say goodbye to people leaving.

As parents who have had adult children and partners return home to live.... good luck

hazlenut flour is too bloody fancy... it was so much easier when pastry was made with wheat flour and lard!
Pleased he's doing well, and managed to not kill the baker x

hugs and loves
Such a shame to miss out but very sensible not to spread it. Hope you feel better soon mattswife.
Jeremy Vine discussed it this afternoon, so many people with covid at the moment. Seems to linger as well. βΉοΈ
Got woken up with magpies going nuts. Thought has to be cats. Goes out in dressing gown. Wet feet with the morning dew. Here's tiger cat squaring up to black cat with white cat standing back watching.
Next thing was a ball of cats. How can such sweet boys become crazed ?
Anyway the black cat took off over the fence followed by tiger cat who's not usually so spritely.
And Magda what a scary time for you. There are so many people with worrying allergies now. Was it always this way? Or did people just go undiagnosed with all the dangers surrounding that.
I've just downloaded the Good Food App to get 12 months magazines for Β£9.99. Remember to cancel next July. I love the Christmas issuesπ€π€π€π€π€π€
A nice warm and sunny start to the day and I want to throw open all the windows but....
There's some major duct laying going on in the road and the noise of them digging it up yesterday was unbearable so had to shut all the windows to try and block it out. It didn't really but I suppose it was diminished a little. Still ended the day with a headache though. They have just arrived back today to continue disturbing the peace so not going to open the windows at all...and as I say that the machinery has just fired up and the racket has started.
They have also got big holes right outside the drive so I can't get out until they finish. I think I'll try and find the ear defenders in the garage (can't remember where I put them after the last chainsaw session) or failing that wear headphones all day. I wish they would just bug ger off!
Anyway I hope everyone has a lovely day and makes the most of the nice weather.

Ps I own none of these cats π
Morning, early wake up here from the magpies, no neighbouring cats now to frighten birds away. Hugs to those feeling down. At least the forum is not suffering from computer woes this morning. Watching the world infrastructure crumble.
