Thanks for all the suggestions for our trip to London, especially the map and theatre apps, they where invaluable.
We literally walked the soles of our feet off! We saw nearly every landmark and museum. We are on YouTube watching stamer, leaving BuckinghamPalace. The architecture is fantastic. We could have lost ourselves in many of the buildings. We saw Moulin Rouge. (Amazing). Fed squirrels by hand.
The only pot hole we saw was outside of Buckingham Palace... the fountain had a few inches of dirty water in... God knows who thought this was acceptable the day after the election.
The negatives .... I was shocked by the large number of people smoking, including sitting at restaurants outside. The piles and piles of rubbish all along the roads. The amount of rat traps probably linked to the rubbish. The cyclists driving dangerously. Lack of seats, resulting in tourists sitting on anything flat everywhere. People walking whilst on the phone with no awareness of dangers to themselves when looking at the screen or talking really loudly. Ooh, and lack of social interaction with people, we met 2 groups both from Yorkshire.
We enjoyed ourselves, but so happy to be home .... despite the pot holes!
I won't have time to read back, I've poked my head in a few times, so aware of spuds sad news x
Neighbour has just rescued a pregnant cat, vet checked & now microchipped, kittens due in a couple of weeks... She only escaped out of an upstairs window in the night 😳 Fortunately she came back that evening, must be happy with her new home & kindness shown to return after only living there for 48 hours 💝
Very sad recently. Had to say goodbye to my lovely faithful 15 and half year old dog Tessa Wednesday morning. She was fine last week, still enjoying short walks round the garden, loving her food and even coming to tell me when someone rang the doorbell lol . She didn't know the meaning of retirement. Then suddenly went downhill Monday, refusing to eat and couldn't stand
Aww so sorry to hear this gocat, such a big part of the family.
Hope everyone has a lovely few days, we went to wet wales!!! dropped dogs off for 2 weeks, we are off to Turkey tomorrow, so see you all in a few weeks.

Does anyone know worst case senario how much an oil burning boiler is to replace including fitting. Can’t believe it the day DD completes and her sole responsibility within half hour of getting in from work her boiler starts making weird sounds. I suggest she gets in the shower just in case it was overheating to release some hot water having no idea how it works. Shower is stone cold even though boiler feels hot. I had very late shower today about 4.45 and it was hot enough from being on this morning. It went on again at 5pm. Hoping it can be repaired it is due a service this month. Have had to turn the power off at the wall as the noise was just getting louder and constant. 😬
Hello from a warm but threatening to rain midlands. Good luck for tomorrow spuds hopefully you can get through the hard bits and also get the paperwork completed. Hubby got one lot of washing on and dry by the time i got home from hair appointment and did a bbq i think it was our 2nd one this year 🫨 hopefully weather will improve. We had our buyers surveyor thismorning he said no problems so i need to book our builder to have a look at house we are buying, hopefully all going well and smoothly. Hubby has his cystoscopy next week so praying all is well and he can get back on chemo and finish completely before our holiday. Hugs to all and hope all are as well as can be. X
I should add to my description of London... or maybe ask if anyone else noticed.... the level of nudity with the statues...whilst the boobs looked normal.... OMG, the number of weird willies on the statues! I'm amazed I wasn't asked to leave several places with my giggling!
Thanks MW for the coffee and cake. I’ll swap them for a big cuddle. X
I’ve only just caught up on here. We went away for 2 weeks, then less than two weeks later i through a weekend long birthday birthday for Mr FW. We went camping and I catered for 50 people 😬. We had a ceilidh and it was absolutely amazing. I was exhausted by the end of it though! Then last weekend we had parents visiting….
So it’s been busy but a great few weeks. Also the allotment and garden are absorbing most of my spare time…..and I’m expected to find time to work in amongst all this too 🙄😆.
This Friday I’m off again on holiday for two weeks, this time to Slovenia!
It's raining again...all night, relentless, and still doing it
FW you make me dizzy with your hectic life and all your travels. There can't be many parts of the world that you haven't been to yet! Enjoy Slovenia
My thoughts are with those going through difficult times at the moment, stay strong and positive, as hard as it is right now it will get better. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all, looks a bit wet out there but not raining at the moment.
FW, I am exhausted just reading about your adventures! Enjoy.
Not sure what I shall do today, rather depends on the weather, garden needs weeding but not doing it in the rain, bad enough finishing off mowing the lawns n the rain yesterday
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
What an absolute awful “Summer” we are having weather-wise ☹️
We’ve even got tadpoles swimming on the lawn, keeping the vast army of slugs company!
DS is safely back from Washington DC, where he presented some of his work to an International Conference on Biomedical Engineering. Very proud of him 🙂
