Bananababe sounds as if you had the perfect day and one that's filled with lovely memories. It would have been a day that suited me too.Woke up to a wet and miserable morning but I have a big job of altering some new curtains today. ready made but too long cost £58, the same curtains from the same company made to measure £230,I don't think so.Will be glad when they're done but none of my windows are a standard size.

My windows like that. Nothing symmetrical. Enjoy your sewing.

If they are standard pleat heading tape I usually shorten from the top. Much easier if they are lined and are hemmed nicely already. Great saving magda.
Morning all. Miles behind with just about everything!
Very sad recently. Had to say goodbye to my lovely faithful 15 and half year old dog Tessa Wednesday morning. She was fine last week, still enjoying short walks round the garden, loving her food and even coming to tell me when someone rang the doorbell lol . She didn't know the meaning of retirement. Then suddenly went downhill Monday, refusing to eat and couldn't stand
So sad gocat. Tessa was a very special girl. Take care of yourself xxx
Curly that's exactly what I'm doing .I've already taken off the header tape. The hems have been done nicely and I don't want to spoil those,as the tops wwill be gathered and not seen it's better to alter those.

Good morning all, the sun is finally trying to come out.
We had rain most of yesterday and most of the night. The annoying thing is it means I will have to mow the lawns for the first time in a few weeks when it dries off again!
So sorry about Tessa Gocat xx
Need to get some shopping in and clean out the birds, hopefully in a dry period lol.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
It rained yesterday, has rained all of last night and is raining again now. Chilly wind blowing as well to make it even more unpleasant. Thought we'd seen the back of the wet weather after that brief dry and warm spell but it doesn't look like it. What a wash out this so called summer is turning out to be
Hope others are enjoying better weather. Have a lovely day whatever you are getting up to, rain or shine.
Oh, and I got brave and ordered a Kipling bag. You lot are in serious trouble if it doesn't suit
Hope you love your bag which one did you go for ?
Some are like mini Tardis's
Went for the Gabbie, in the end I went for the "Moonlit Forest", the other colour ways were too expensive for my liking and I ended up getting it for just over £41. Was close to going for a "Splashy Posies" one on Ebay but could picture myself having to wash it every day
Well, it’s day 16 of Covid. Still feel dreadful! And I’ve been jabbed so many times! I get very cross when I hear people say Covid is just a cold!!!!! Surely it had to end soon!!
Just spotted this.
are you testing negative?
you've had it much worse than me Lizzie😞
I just ached all over for a couple of days and put it down to gardening. Then my sense of smell suddenly went. The next day I was ok and tested negative the day after that.
Yes been and still am very unwell. Three days ago got terrible conjunctivitis in both eyes. Watering like nobody’s business, swollen eyelids and big puffy bags on cheekbones and the reddest eyes, I look like a vampire! DD2 had it the same! And I’m sure I’ve swallowed a razor blade! Feeling very sorry for myself!! ☹️

Oh dear, Busylizzie. You have every right to feel sorry for yourself.
Wishing you a speedier and healthy recovery after having such a rotten time. xx
Thank you! Every day I think I must be better tomorrow but just seems to evolve into another weird symptom! I was pretty bad when I had it in March 2022 but this has been much worse. Shouldn’t tempt fate, but neither time has it affected my chest/breathing, thank goodness!

In the midst of the misery of car insurance quotes. The actual renewal quotes are not too bad - one car has only gone up £5 and the other £16 so I could be idle and just let them autorenew. Did some quotes via TCB and for one I got RAC at £30 less and the other a quote from Aviva of £45 less so a bit better.
Then I tried to do a multi-car quote from Admiral online and twice got to the final page where it asks you to create an account whereby it failed. Then I wondered if it was because it was recognising the email address - we were with them for years. Then I thought I would try ringing them which is a faff in itself but eventually got through. The person taking the call had a strong accent though and we had issues understanding each other so that's where the call ended. I went back then to doing a multicar quote online but this time starting with OHs car and again I got to the end and it recognized OH and asked him to log in so I used the other email address. Then it got stuck at a quote summary page and again it would not load. Deep sigh. Might try again later
Meanwhile I rang LV and eventually got through - slightly unnerving as they recognize your details just from your phone number. I got them to revise the quote down another £30 so a bit better
Cup of tea and then start again
Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains

Impressed you are doing it properly. I would have cut the bottom off, folded it over and used the iron on hemming tape.

I need to sew 2 curtains together.... suggestions on how to get a professional look would be great x
sunshine mummy,I'm sure someone could offer better advise than me but I would take off the header tape sew a small narrow seam joining the curtains together then sew on another new piece of header tape the width of the new joined curtain so it was just one continuoius piece of header tape. If you know what I'm saying.
Well I've finished altering and sewing the curtains and am really pleased with how they turned out.Tomorrow I will iron out all the creases and get them hung up.Now there is just a new carpet to chose before we move onto the next room.

Dear Glitch Fairy,
If you've retired and you don't want to tell us it's fine we understand. You were such a hard worker that you do deserve a rest but maybe you could have got an apprentice before you finished.
Wish i knew if that silly pop up slows you down in quiz
I press play and up it pops so i have close it and quiz open
Takes a couple seconds faffing about
Been nice here we seem to be having better weather recently seeing we rainy Manchester
Hugs to all who needs or wants one.
A special hug for mattswife and a great big snuggle and lick from Rosie
I assume it does waste time, as it appears after you start the quiz. Instead of starting the quiz straight away visit another page on the site first, and then press back to return to the quiz after the pop up has been and gone.
