Good morning all.

I’ve a visitor so am only now catching up. Last night we had my last pack of last year’s beef. In the morning I fried onions (thanks for the tip, Foxy) and threw them in the slow cooker. Then I heated the beef, threw in a generous glug of Blossom Hill wine, added some flour, and put the lot into the slow cooker on top of the onions. I added chopped carrots and cooked it on low for a few hours. It tasted divine. I took it out of the slow cooker and when we were ready to eat it, I heated it up on the hob and added mushrooms. I served it with Olio potatoes and broccoli. It was one of the nicest meals…

Good morning all, another grey day here.

I was out at 07:15 giving the lawn the final mowing of the year, I hope. It hasn't been mowed for 6 weeks, no dew this morning so thought I had better get it done. Problem is, by the time I get in from visiting OH it is already dark! Finally managed to tell next door what was going on, she was wondering why she hadn't seen him around too.

As for that John Lewis ad, I thought it was just another ad, had no idea it was the Christmas one! Difficult to even start to feel Christmasy at the moment anyway. All I can do is hope OH will be home by then. Fingers crossed, I really think he should be.

Think I am another one taking more than I can give to this thread at the moment, hopefully that will change before too long.
