I'm aching all over this morning but have beautifully trimmed hydrangea bushes. They were taller than me, overhung a metre of lawn which is now in a bit of a state and virtually blocked a path. It's not the time of year, I know for cutting them back but needs must. I could have filled every room with their flowers. Beautiful turquoises, greens, purples.
Are you all sick of my lobster runner yet?ππ
ineed to iron itπ³
morning paw sniffersπ€

Hugs to anyone who needs them, especially those suffering through house buying and selling ππ€¦
Set the twins to making a HelloFresh macaroni cheese this morning.
βThatβs not going to be enough pasta!β βThatβs all they sentβ βHave we got any more?β βWhy?β βSo we can make enough for tomorrow and tomorrows tomorrow because this is taking ages and I donβt want to waste all my playing time cooking again this week!β
Another rant here ; For those of you who have pump serums or face creams or anything for that matter does it annoy you as much as me that there is around 15% that is still on the bottom! ?Sometimes Iβve had to get my OH to use pliers to get these ruddy bottles undone. THEN I have to leave it safely upside down. There is ( especially on serums) at least another 10 or more uses. Grrrr. Not cheap these things either.
I have stolen OHs pipe cutter to open up my bottles of HRT when I've run out (GP surgery takes 7 days to process a prescription!)
Iβm so glad itβs not only me that gets the dregs out of every tube, bottle, can etc we get. I can often be seen retrieving tubes of toothpaste from waste paper bin because thereβs some left in there πIt drives my hubby mad !
Pulled the same tube out of the bin 3 days in a row so that is 6 brushes worth that had been chucked....
DD1 picked up the keys for her flat today (Friday 13th - hmm), method to secure a rental seemed to be sound like a professional dad who just wants to sort it at any cost and then pony up Β£8k for 6 months rent in advance....
DD has promised to pay back half when her student finance drops in a week and the other half in January - will believe it hen I see it. May need to start recording big cash advances in my will to make sure they all get equal when the time comes a I am very big on fairness between siblings.
My eldest sister leant her kids money and kept a tally for them to repay. I hold the view that us as parents were responsible for their education, we paid all their accommodation and gave them whatever they asked for.... then when DS2 stuffed his degree up came home and sat in his bedroom for a year, we ended up paying for him to do a BA and MA, accommodation, and allowance.... no wonder I have no pension!
Can your mum go in a respite home for awhile give you a rest ?
I know its hard been there but you will make yourself ill
I was thinking the same... my mum was adamant she wouldn't go into a resi. Resulting in us staying in our last house 4 years after we were ready to move (she could see the front of ours from her back window). When she went in a resi for regards, she loved it!
No idea rusty, on the survey it just says Septic tank 3 stage brick built.
Its recommending a Klargester gamma 2800 litre septic tank and new drainage field.Β The new tank would be concreted into position, connected to an existing electrical supply and be approved by building control.
Oh that Klargester is a sewage treatment plant, I've a similar thing in my project. I've a brick built one in my full time house, so do most of my neighbours, more simple and less things to go wrong. Who did the survey on the tank was it someone from klargester or an independent surveyor?(Just wondering if it's selling thing like a damp surveyor from a company selling magic damp curesπ€)
We have a diamond sewage thing.... OH said he'd buy me a diamond ring for my 40th... when I dragged him to see the plot he joked that it was my diamond.... so I bought it in my name!

As for children and whether to loan or give children money ... I would much rather hand money over now when money is needed and see them make use of it .... more use in that than money earning 5% and less just sat in a bank or building society ... But difficult to do in practice when your kids are at wildly different ends of fiscal scale and at different stages of their lives ..
Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains

I do like the idea of things being even in the end as I know DS2 has had significantly more than the other 2.... on top of his 4 years uni, he's had a deposit for a house, that he stripped and is very slowly putting back together whilst he lives in our old house rent free. I think this caused a few issues, but the other 2 have realised that he needs more help than they do and that we are always there to help all of them...... but DS1 is on beyond silly money, and DS3 is on silly money, whilst DS2 is on rubbish money.

Similar here - the eldest is on about 3 times the salary that OH reached by the time he retired but she was quite wild when she was at uni and practically drained us. Youngest is on a good enough wage but only because he works away from home for months at a time so a house deposit would make a huge difference to them, otherwise they would be renting forever. Middle one lives in Europe where the housing market is so different and again they are both on good salaries and in a fabulous flat - quite normal to rent out there

Happy birthday MWπ₯³, fab cakeπ, very clever DD takes after mum obviously π.
Love the π¦runner TM π. Never going to Mexico now after reading here π€’. So sorry reading about the house buying shenanigans, hope Lalli DS is successful π€. We have been looking all over the place since OH retirement, very happy to come home each time π₯°π‘.
I love hydrangeas. Mine have all finished, flowers dried up.
I think you live in warmer climes scπ€
you are supposed to over winter them with the heads intact to protect any new growth coming through next year. But I couldn't stand them any longer. I haven't even dried any this year.π₯΄
