So I'm feing super proud of myself for walking away from the half price Joseph and Joseph nesting bowls and chopping boards in T today. Even had one in my trolley at one point but took it out again ๐. Trouble is I keep thinking how they'd be great in my tiny kitchen. Someone stop me going back tmoro!!
I've missed this, what's the offer please? Something I'm desperate for, mine are disgusting.
Not been in for a while as I get trapped in the car park this time of year. ๐ณ
BTW, WiFi has 'decided' that she doesn't want to move North now (because it's too cold and too wet).
I've tried to explain that Cornwall is wet as well, particularly around Bodmin.
Don't know what's going to happen
Not sure what she means.....It's flipping mild up here.... we have no heating on. OH has had shorts on all day. I've had leggings and a 3/4 sleeved top.... and ran to garage in a dressing gown..... ๐

Good morning. Day four of frugal January (30th Dec) and we haven't spent a penny. DH took dgks out yesterday which included a trip to maccies but I'm counting that as entertainment. I asked him to buy milk, which he forgot to do.... And last night one of our oliers had 16x4 pints of milk ๐ซจ so that was meant to be. So today will be spent looking for recipes that use milk, and sprouts as the other Olioer lady had 100+ of sprouts. I'm not sure of last night's total yet but I'll be adding it to my journal for the month. Both freezers are still full to capacity still with lots of beef and pork so I can see January being a month of roast dinners ๐ I'm going to make lamb hotpot for tonight, I do love an easy tea. Any recipes greatly appreciated, we don't eat sweet stuff though so although I'm sure there's loads of puddings I could make, it wouldn't get eaten.
I was so close to salmon yesterday. The stock checker had it and the SA found it (and its location) on his machine, but there were none on the shelf! Now the stock checker doesnโt even admit it existsโฆ I hope someone is lucky today.
Well it is very frosty this morning Today and tomorrow are tidy up/cleaning days Do you remember when it was a cleaning frenzy for the New Year Outside stair cleaning features heavily in my memory Houses today are probably cleaner with better appliances that help make the jobs less labourious
Many of these old traditions stay with me and I have been replenishing half empty containers so that they are all full going forward I imagine every household had their own ideas of what was required
We too are drowning in excess food So many good buys and it difficult to know if the "whatever" offer may be the last for a while so making it an essential purchase We will not starve for a while but I need to minimise my shopping next month
Was talking with a lovely neighbour yesterday Gifted her a salmon as she likes a wee bargain We agreed that her generation and mine probably had it the best Hers just after the war Mine mid fifities There are so many changes in lifestyles which have happened so quickly but maybe its only us oldies who see it like that and have concerns for the younger generations prospects

Think it's fixed, someone found some this morning but came up at ยฃ12 nectar price (not the ยฃ2 it showed yesterday when they found some)
Only issue is the sticky pads you get with it aren't good in my kitchen coz of how steamed up everywhere gets. (COOKING, SSM JUST COOKING)
It's awesome though!
That is exactly what I was trying to explain except that I simply created it by inserting an extra shelf. You can also make an insert of thin wood, though it sits on your shelf rather than below it.

Drizzly and dark here in Bucks, but Parkrun done โ whilst OH walks ๐โ๐ฆบ. Can someone remind me how to find the Sainsb stock checker please? I am logged in but cannot see it ๐ซฃ.
Still trying to eat leftovers but OH announced he fancies chicken curry ๐. Not sure who I cooked the gammon for on Boxing Day ๐๐๐. Think I might blitz the veg and turn the parsnip soup into veg soup. Couldnโt say No to smoked salmon mousse from neighbour, it is yummy. I really donโt need to go shopping, trying to stay put today.

For the milk:
if you have eggs you could do a savoury baked custard so just like a normal custard with the egg and milk but instead of adding sugar add cheese and vegetables.
Make up a couple of servings of cheese sauce or white sauce for the freezer. If you freeze them in bags you can squish them in to fill gaps.

Lalli thank you for the recipes, I'll be giving some of them a go. We collected ยฃ79 worth of stuff plus a whole load of extras, we have enough sprouts to sink a ship.
