Thanks SSM...We did Egypt a few years back and hated it (i wouldnt go back on my own)...and the other 2 i'm sort of trying to avoid due to it possibly being Half term I go and I really don't want too many families.
I really want somewhere where as a lone female you arn't hit upon...i'm not after a shirley valentine type holiday
When we went to the maldives (lily beach)I said it would be a place I would be happy to go to on my own ...we went to a small island and that would be perfect but sadly for a R and R break on my own now the prices have gone sky high
I have never actually been on holiday on my own so it will be a very different experience I guess ....I have also looked at a couple of spa breaks in the UK...but its actually physical sun and sand I crave more than champneys or the like....there were some fantastic places up north but its not log fires and hot tubs I want this time
We have been on many Ramblers Holidays which are great for singles - company and safety and someone to talk to at meals. Holiday Grades range from easy to difficult.
Can't help with you destination Straw but I've meet many single people on all inclusive hols. Some first timers and others fully fledged. I think if you're in a hotel complex it would be ok, also who would know your by yourself unless you arrived on the bus with them. I've seen loads of couples arriving on holiday together but only one by the pool ๐ค(not sure what the other one does๐คท) Also if anyone got too friendly tell them to do one๐. I've not been in the position or the opportunity to go away by myself but I certainly would.
Ha ha Thats me and DH I cant sit in the sun as i burn He can lie for hours, He goes running at most of the ports or out on the tour bike rides
Me I am sat in the shade reading a book or chatting over a mocktail during the day in one of the bars
We meet up for lunch and dinner plus the show at night
I even like the peace in my cabin on a few occasions
Cape verde...what does anyone who has been there make if it?
I'm looking at it because I think it's large complexes built into a very sandy area miles from anywhere else. Most of the places seem to be of good or excellent standard with all inclusive facilities. Weather looks warm this time of year
I'm thinking of booking a late deal for Feb or early March, just me as the others cant get time off...so i just want somewhere where I can lay out by a pool or near a bit of sand...get fed and a few drinks and have somewhere I can sit and read a shed load of books...with a nice room to sleep in....
Not interested in excursions or going off plan ...just need to rest and recharge with minimal children around if possible
Might cape verde fit that brief.....
Totally out of character for our usual holidays but that's because I'm not gong as a family or part of a couple.
We were booked to go to Cape Verde when covid struck and couldn't travel.
It is known for being fairly windy, it's worth googling which months the winds are strongest.
Boa Vista is popular for the wind surfers and kite surfers and is the windier island.
Neither of my rings fit and have not done for years They languish in a drawer I am not a jewellery person
Been to sainsburys Nothing worth reporting but other might find the read interesting
M&S have had various cleaning bits at 75% off Mostly empty shelves
Had a coffee and now off to see a difficult tenant
Enjoy your day
With those beautiful nails I thought you would have loved jewellery. I wore my jewellery constantly until I started working in a jewellers, now I take all my rings off as soon as I get home. I haven't got an eternity ring as I couldn't bear three rings on the same finger. I have just had some lovely ruby earrings made for my birthday ๐
We're looking for a holiday at a similar time strawberri and are thinking about Madeira. The only holiday I've been on alone was to Orlando, but I don't think that really fits your brief.

When I was a lot younger and between the first and second Mrs Sleazy's, I went on several walking holidays or treks. I got to the top of Mount Toubkal in Morocco (snowball fights in shorts), and to Everest Base Camp. Mixed groups, some single, some pairs, but no hanky panky even when we all slept together outdoors in Morocco or in a cowshed at 5000 metres in Nepal.

We are half looking at holiday destinations but our old reputation is coming back to bite us. We went to Thailand a couple of months before the tidal wave, Kenya before the riots, Egypt before the uprising and so it continues.
This year we were hoping to go to Peru, and of course there is massive political unrest out there at the moment. And that is just with thinking about it!
That said, we went to Cyprus last year and nothing has happened there, yet. I can imagine Cyprus being lovely for singles, the hotel we stayed at was lovely but not child free, there are a few advertised as child free, and there is plenty to be done there, loads of archeological sites to wonder around, tours around wineries etc. I think a woman alone would be fine there, and buses are frequent and cheap (1 euro 50 for any journey, but you pay again if you change buses). WE stayed just outside of Paphos.
Went to Madeira a few years ago, was OK, probably depends on where you end up.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
One of my favourite places and WiFi still lets me go on the odd trip there on my own as she's tied to school holidays. They drive on the left, plugs are the same as the Uk, most folks speak English, buses are plentiful and cheap, weather has always been reasonably kind to me even in winter, what's not to like?

Been food shopping only for things we need and didn't think about tea tonight ๐. Something on toast maybe going retro or a bag of Percy pigs and a few Gins๐คฃ
I had beans on toast and ate it with my eyes closed.i thought I might fall asleep half way through and wake up with my face dripping in beans๐ฅด๐ฅด
Hello, still the same minus lost teeth and broken glasses ๐
When you think how important our teeth are to our wellbeing and physical health, it's crazy to think how little care is taken to looking after false teeth๐๐

There were there Saturday, lost Sunday, Mum said well they can't get up and walk out, today when she goes glasses all mangled, when she asked what has happened to them of course they don't know ๐ก
The sooner they have a room at the home for rehab the better
He has been there 5 weeks, Yesterday they asked Mum if she had the puree food menu, No , no-one has said there was one! Today he had that and ate nearly all his food rather than a teaspoon full because he couldn't swallow
Strawberri we had friends who went to Cape Verde and although they loved it , wouldn't go back. Someone broke there hip it was a nightmare apparently took 3 days to get them to a hospital (fly) that had facilities? Bit of a garbled story but found this
What are the medical facilities in Cape Verde? Medical facilities in Cape Verde are limited, and some medicines are in short supply or unavailable. The largest hospitals are in Praia and Mindelo, with smaller medical facilities and clinics located throughout the country. Medical facilities are particularly limited on the island of Boavista.
Anyways, the King Jason in Pathos is fab, adults only .
