good morning everyone and what a delightfully white day to be alive!
Mark 8:36 : For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? Matthew 7:15 : "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" Isaiah 9:2 : In a land of deep darkness a light will shine.
Shouldn't it be getting a little lighter on a morning🥴🥴
We are with EDF and only get billed every 6 months, so we asked them for an upto date calculation on the gas. ( we only have a smart meter for the electric....long story) and our calculations are spot on.
my observation is that I wear my engagement ring/ wedding ring combo the other way round!
I wear my rings the same way round as Emerald - if I'm making something like pastry it's easy to slip my engagement ring off so bits don't get stuck in the setting!
True. I would probably take both off together. More worried about my engagement ring falling off, so the wedding band will help keep it in place!

Good morning all, cold one here. About -3.7°C so warmer than yesterday
Thank you for the cuppa Roma
With my rings, I was less than 8 stone when I got married, I have since become over 11 stone. I can move my wedding ring, it isn't restricting anything, haven't tried taking it off in a loooooong while but imagine it would come off with the old cotton round the finger trick, my engagement ring goes on fine but I have such short fingers I have to choose between that and my eternity ring! I have quite a few other rings too, but to me my jewellery is about when I go out and need to be dressed up. I have some lovely jewellery but it is simply not practical to wear it all the time, especially when I have to jam my hands in tight spots to get cables through etc.
On my own most of today. Is it wrong to look forward to that? Means I can continue on with taking my nanoblock castle apart and sorting the pieces and the suchlike.
Thinking of you Bubbs, hope things are progressing xx
The festivities for us with christmas and birthdays is finally over...
It stretches from 13th dec when we have the first close birthday right through until 17th Jan ...there have been a few milestone birthdays too, plenty of fizz and cake and I'm now looking forward to a bit of dry january and some much needed rest.
Theres a point between the 28th dec and the 6th of january where someone in the family has a birthday every day ...but at least it gets them all out in one sitting....
We have a solitary birthday in november but other than that it appears you cant marry into or be born into our family unless you're a dec or jan baby!

Life is a strange thing, just when you think you've learned how to use it, it's gone
Travelodge seem to have an offer on at the moment - Just booked a couple of nights in Newquay for £35 per night for february half term. Just down the road from the local Wetherspoons which will be a bonus for food ...
I wear my eternity ring on the ring finger of my right hand.
I had my engagement ring reset at one point, so it now sits better going on first. The setting is sloped on one side to allow my wedding band to slide underneath its edge.
Anyone near asda Check the random bath bombs Pink clouds SEL 63p scan at 2p Other items too but another customer had them in her trolley I would have missed them altogether had I not seen her trolley
Glade candles some 50p Air freshener 35p Spiced apple

Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains

Cape verde...what does anyone who has been there make if it?
I'm looking at it because I think it's large complexes built into a very sandy area miles from anywhere else. Most of the places seem to be of good or excellent standard with all inclusive facilities. Weather looks warm this time of year
I'm thinking of booking a late deal for Feb or early March, just me as the others cant get time off...so i just want somewhere where I can lay out by a pool or near a bit of sand...get fed and a few drinks and have somewhere I can sit and read a shed load of books...with a nice room to sleep in....
Not interested in excursions or going off plan ...just need to rest and recharge with minimal children around if possible
Might cape verde fit that brief.....
Totally out of character for our usual holidays but that's because I'm not gong as a family or part of a couple.

We've been to Egypt late Jan/early Feb, the weather was ideal for us, hot enough to lay out all day, but not unbearable except for the hottest part of the day. We've also been to Tenerife and Lanzarote around the same time, the weather was fine with both, but Lanzarote was windy. No idea about Cape verde, except 20 odd years ago, I used to work with a woman who obtained a sizeable divorce settlement as he bought her out of the business they ran........ which she used to buy a lot of property in Cade Verde, so I am assuming it is nice.

Yes Lucky saint - not Lucky Stripe - that was weird misnaming I didnt do the previous beer freebie but then i got the hang of others that came along so i was hoping this would refresh. Yes I did all of the previous Tena ones with coupons that expired at the end of December so this is a refreshed offer

Thanks SSM...We did Egypt a few years back and hated it (i wouldnt go back on my own)...and the other 2 i'm sort of trying to avoid due to it possibly being Half term I go and I really don't want too many families.
I really want somewhere where as a lone female you arn't hit upon...i'm not after a shirley valentine type holiday
When we went to the maldives (lily beach)I said it would be a place I would be happy to go to on my own ...we went to a small island and that would be perfect but sadly for a R and R break on my own now the prices have gone sky high
I have never actually been on holiday on my own so it will be a very different experience I guess ....I have also looked at a couple of spa breaks in the UK...but its actually physical sun and sand I crave more than champneys or the like....there were some fantastic places up north but its not log fires and hot tubs I want this time

I have to admit to hating the hotel in Egypt that OH had booked... so much so, that after one night I changed hotel, and booked into Pure Life in Hurghada.
I could not recommend it enough for a hotel where you don't want to leave the resort (there are three hotels linked, but the other 2 have kids on hotels, but they are not allowed near to Pure Life).
I totally get the need for sun, but as someone who struggles to eat in a restaurant on my own, I totally take my hat off to you going on your own x
Can't help with you destination Straw but I've meet many single people on all inclusive hols. Some first timers and others fully fledged. I think if you're in a hotel complex it would be ok, also who would know your by yourself unless you arrived on the bus with them. I've seen loads of couples arriving on holiday together but only one by the pool 🤔(not sure what the other one does🤷) Also if anyone got too friendly tell them to do one😂. I've not been in the position or the opportunity to go away by myself but I certainly would.
Been food shopping only for things we need and didn't think about tea tonight 🙄. Something on toast maybe going retro or a bag of Percy pigs and a few Gins🤣
Further afield, anything in the Carribean. We've also done Mauritius. All sandals resorts are adult only, though we found that there were a lot of noisy americans there. Royalton group has adult only hotels, a cheaper version of sandals, it may tick the boxes. We love the Maldives, but it is a long way to travel when you think you need a boat or seaplane after a long flight.
