I'm just watching a gardening programme on Bbc2 and there's a man ringing kestrels called Steve Christmas, he's the man who ringed our female swan..,. What a small world 🌎
Good evening all, house seems to be going ok 🤞. We have a Halloween club run Friday so looking forward to that. Stiill packing, hopefully will get a bit more b4 our scotland next week, a Treat for hubby’s birthday playing in Carnoustie and St Andrews. I know it’s been asked a few times but couldn’t find it looking back, I went back 50 pages, I downloaded tje vintage app but I’m sure someone said you gat £20 off a £40 spend but nothing is showing on my app. Had a poopy week, let’s hope next week is better. Big hugs to those that need them amd those going through tough times. Xx
? Conker laundry detergent? What have I missed ? Are you really saying to add conkers to dishwashers?
I would say washing clothes in the washing machine (laundry detergent) not dishes in a dishwasher
YES. As previously stated…. I skim read 😂 ps…. I’ve got 8 oak trees at the bottom of my garden. Can I use acorns ? 😂🤣 Sorry just another thought here: if we see anyone shopping with loads of squirrels following them…..we will know what they are washing their clothes with 😁
This is the third time I've tried to write this post. I keep getting interrupted. It's like being at work😂😂
It's chilly tonight. Anyone got their heating on yet?
WE caved last week of September, I was surprised how much gas it takes even when it is not that cold, the house is averaging about 2kw per hour which doesn't seem that much as it is like having a 200w heater on in each room (electric rads and fan heaters are typically 1-2kw) but it quickly mounts up given current prices - we were still on a 2.3p per unit fix for gas this time last year, now it is 4 times as much.
Can anyone remind me what the emergency Facebook elite page is called please? My Elite log on pages have been blank for about 2 hours and I was beginning to panic that I could not find you.

My £20 off £40 didn't show on the app automatically. I emailed them and they added it to my wallet. If you check you wallet and it's not there drop them an email. They were really quick to respond
I got back from holiday a week and a half ago and I had great intentions of catching up with this thread, but it just isn't going to happen, so I just read the last couple of pages. I hope I haven't missed too much 😬.
As for heating, ours is just on a thermastat so it just turns itself on when it's cold enough. But the living room is still a a balmy 18C so it hasn't come on yet.
No heat on here although every time the boiler men have come out they've put it on and pre heat and whacked the heat up! Fortunately 2 mins after they leave I nip up, take photos just in case and put everything back to normal. We're good yet. Next door probs have their heating on tropical so will keep the walls warm lol
Dawn and I are off to Wolverhampton tomorrow so that she can go to her place of work which I believe is the civic centre . Was wondering are the shops nearby where we get off the train please to anyone who lives there or knows . Thank you
Not been for a while Emerald but I have it on good authority that you have to go down a passageway to get to the town centre shops from the civic centre. No shops near the station though.
Thank you serap . We are almost there now. We will only be there for about a hour and a half as Dawn has another engagement so will be just enough time to seek out a costa lol.
I did have a quick dabble last year with conker washing jizz, my tree didn't produce many conkers last year but this year is a mega crop. I will have ago again this year if I pick some this weekend. I have seen a vid on conker soap from the leaves 🤔, obviously to late now because they are all brown and on the floor. Also you can wash your hair with conker juice too😂

Good morning all, reasonable morning though rain is promised.
Thank you for the cuppa Roma
Was hoping to weed later, will have to wait and see. Not doing it in the rain lol. Have to get some shopping in first.
Not even thought of having the heating on yet, still plenty warm enough, actually still in T shirts some of the time inside, and loads of glass if the sun comes out to warm it up.
Never tried the conker washing, still have loads of washing capsules from the Amazon glitch.
Hugs to all that need or want them xx
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

🤢 🤢 🤢
Morning Peeps 🌞
The weather has definitely turned here, about 400 geese are gathering on the river at night so they'll be gone soon.
We're still waiting for someone to clean the porcelain slabs 🙄 then we can move on to planting but I'm completely lost 🤷🏻♀️
Thinking of everyone going through difficult times ♥️
Definitely not cold enough to have the heating on here. I try and wait until December before I first turn it on and usually manage it unless it gets excessively cold in November.

Hoping not to have to turn the heating on if we get the African Plume promised

Sounds good, although our local TV weather forecaster last night warned of Saharan dust over the next few days so I guess that is the downside of it. It always makes such a mess on everything!
No heating on here yet either, doors are open most of the day, with dogs in and out, get a bit nippy on the evening but a jumper sorts that out at the minute. Weve had temperatures of 18 this week, been lovely.
Its COLD up here Heating has been for short periods Rugs and fleeces being used but not resorted to heated throw Eldest GD watches TV in the shed,(man cave) and has their heated throw over her then
Been shopping and bought a M&S meal deal for taking with us Still undecided if Thursday or Friday for B'ham Could not get my one4all ecards to work in M&S Glad i had a physical card too
Right a quick tidy up then off to get my nails done
We’ve been lighting the log burner in the evenings but not put central heating on yet.
Yes, same here but it does mean the bedroom and duvet are really cold when we get in - brr! I'll be caving soon even if it's just for an hour. Probably depends on your type of house as well as we're in a converted stone built stable from the 18th Century, with no loft we can insulate and walls that can't be insulated. If you're in a modern semi or flat I dare say it's a bit easier. I'm assuming this is where lalli wins with her house that seems to be hot all the time!

Stay warm
You could always buy an M&S gc with your O4A in Boots and time it to coincide with an ATR bonus for a bit more discount + ComSav. Don't forget to send your M&S receipt to ComSav as well for the cashback too.

Me too. I'm also trying to cook on it as much as possible to save on electricity. In the past I've just done the odd soup or casserole, but I'm starting to experiment much more. I've done 'baked' potatoes and even a sourdough loaf.
