I'm off work today and I'm going to tackle my glut of vegetables, visit a National Trust property and family we haven't seen in ages. I also going to sort out my conkers and get to grips with overload of info on solar panels.
Perhaps I need a week off.😂😂

WE have the sains lightly spied ones and think they are only nice if done in the airfryer.
Last night ended up driving 3 hours there and back to pick up DD! from her first term at uni as she has covid properly so now have accompaniment of lots of coughing which I was lucky enough to spend 90 mins in a car with yesterday, wore a mask but who knows, not had my autumn booster yet as still waiting my age group to be eligible.
Take up in my area, and I'm guessing yours, seems low as going through the NHS app and ticking eligibility shows many appointments available at local pharmacies. I booked yesterday and had my jab today. I wouldn't have done it if there was a shortage of vaccine nationally or a shortage of appointments locally, but there is neither, so it seems silly to wait.
Booked for tomorrow afternoon when I will be eligible even though I am not now if that makes sense
Flu jab on the 22nd. I know I am risk averse in life but I can't see why anyone would not do something to reduce the risk of being unpleasantly ill.

hello all Not been around much, in the same situation as a lot of people at the moment with a loved one. I try to do one day at a time as get overwhelmed if I think too much. Take care all.
Had booster the other day at GP's - the nurse said they are vaccinating anyone who has a gap of at least 6 months since last covid jab. It was a flu and covid walk in clinic. I had the flu jab week before as didn't fancy both together.
TM - I recently put a couple of items on Ebay and there's a 'promote listing' option, maybe that's why some items you have viewed have sold quicker. Iceland used to do a vegetable curry, but I haven't seen for quite a few months.

Coming up to the big '50' are we?
I assume michaels means that tomorrow he would be eligible to book as booking will have opened up to the 50-64 age group, where as today the NHS online booking system isn't open to healthy 50-64 yr olds. That said when booking is opened up tomorrow the first appointments should be available for Saturday, but I'm sure that is to assist with logistics of delivering vaccine, rather than not wanting people vaccinated a day early. Though it may be to allow time for the older group to grab their vaccines before the centres are overrun with the younger mob.
Afternoon everyone. Hugs to all that need them. The other day (about a week ago) someone posted about a voucher for a pub chain that was something like £20 if you downloaded there app. I have looked back but can't find it if any body could help I would be very grateful. I am taking my husband away to Woodbridge Suffolk for his 70th so being the cheapskate that I am this will help. Many thanks.

Meant to mention yesterday, went to my favourite chestnut tree yesterday and got a batch of the biggest chestnuts I have ever seen. Now on to my least favourite job of the year, peeling them! If someone invented a chestnut peeler I would grab it with both hands.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Is this for use as detergent?
No, chestnut stuffing , chestnut soup, roast chestnuts etc etc.

Sadly SC is correct rather than Sleazy. However, I had assumed that the opening of bookings tomorrow also meant that you could have a vaccination tomorrow rather than the first chance being Saturday so have perhaps jumped the gun....
I suspect there are not a baying mob of those in my age group desperate to have the vaccine - their loss imho

Both OH and I are on day 4 of colds - OH is always ill to one extent or the other, very hard to tell but this is def my 1st proper cold for years - pre-Plague years anyway, it totally exhausted me earlier in the week but at least I have summoned up some energy today ... Last week we had our Covid autumn boosters, day after jabs was awful feeling sick, feverish and lethargic. But then we bounced back on day 2 apart from arm pain - not sure what is the least worse option - the one day post-jab after effects or a week long cold ... Then next week is flu jab. I am taking the vitamins again to build up the immune system - never ever want to be ill ...
This morning we had the 1st proper thick fog which meant we were having to re-think if the planned day out could go ahead as neither the Mway or the backroads would be fun driving. In the meantime the electric went off and having convinced The Powers That Be that it was the entire street/area and not just us that was powerless they said it would be midday before we would get power back - 2nd time in a month this has happened. So then we were not sure about going out but neither could we stay in ... Planned day out got downgraded to a visit to Greggs for free 0002 hot chocolate and a cake, eaten on a damp bench and then Sainsburys for recycling and some cashback items and bonus points.
Back home, electric back on I tackled the receipt pile which has been festering on my desk for a very long time and needed refiling neatly in month order into the new larger black folder. This took an inordinate amount of time but the old concertina folder is in plastic waste, most of 2021 receipts and a disturbing amount of 2020 receipts have been consigned forever to the paper waste bin. Order restored out of chaos.
Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains

Getting a bit worried. Everyone I know that has had 4th booster had a sore arm after. I never got anything. Hope they really did give me a jab lol. After the flu jab (week before) I got a sore arm for a few days.
