Kettle’s on and help yourself to a bacon roll and a phizz tablet if you’re feeling a bit fragile.
I feel so bad for Rashford, he gets a lot of abuse on social media at the best of times and I imagine last night will have been pretty bad. At least he’s got a manager who knows what he’s going through.
Morning all 😢 I have to go into London this morning. Dread to think what kind of state it's going to be in.
Morning Folks,
Daughter visited friends who live in one of the flats at Wembley Park this weekend. She was supposed to be coming home last night, but decided to stay over, as she didn't feel safe walking through the crowds in the street. I was rather glad we didn't have to trek out to collect her from the station, just as all the pubs were tipping out........and she got to see the fireworks.
Feeling so disappointed this morning to read of the vile racial abuse being aimed at our young players , disgusted at the behaviour of fans trying to force their way into Wembley and shocked at the mess left behind in London.
Even after Southgate warned that booing Italy would embolden the opposition, it still happened.
I know these people are a minority and the press jumps on the bandwagon, but what is the answer?
😕😕😕
Oh yes Good morning paw sniffers🤗
And just to add.....I'm feeling very proud of our team🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
From football heroes to hated in a few seconds - how can fans morons be like that?
I thought the match was pretty even, and looking back it's easy to say "what if" about lots of things, but one team won and one team lost ...
Does anybody remember when instead of penalties (or was it before penalties), there was another period of extra time with a 'golden goal' for whoever scored first? Italy were definitely tiring yesterday (hence their several yellow cards), and if the play had continued, I feel sure that especially with the fresh England strikers coming on, things might have been different.
Well, I dug out my England flag yesterday and draped it over the bookcase. Had to fold the corners carefully as it had the England Rugby team rose on it! 😂 Does anyone remember years ago, think it was for a Rugby World Cup, when they delivered pies to your house? Think the flag came with them. I could not watch football regularly, it’s far from relaxing!!
I don't follow football but I do feel very sorry for those lads, especially the last one that had to take that make or break penalty. He's just a kid and to have that much responsibility on his shoulders was the wrong decision for Southgate to take IMO.
He must be feeling wretched enough as it is but to have racial abuse thrown at him by the uneducated idiots that spout off on twitter and facebook on top of that is beyond belief.

I do agree with you foxy but they do get paid a ridiculous amount to do their job, everyone has a bad day at the office, yesterday was his.

True they do get paid huge amounts but this wasn't just an ordinary day at the office was it? There was so much resting on the outcome of this one match, all that national pride and making history etc. So I think to put such a youngster in the only position that could ultimately achieve or deny all that, however much he is paid, was too much of a responsibility for one so young and inexperienced.
I think the more experienced team and manager (plus some luck) led to Italy taking the trophy. Hate it when it goes to penalties. However, England are a young team who can only get better and did well to get as far as they did. They should feel proud of themselves but I thought it was a bit petulant to take their runner up medals off on camera.
Bubbs Have a wonderful holiday Hope the sun shines for you
The carpet fitters are here(and gone) Gave them tea and biscuits Biccies gone in a flash Oh they must have been here under 15 minutes it was the small box room ie third bedroom

Agree with all this but sorry cant congratulate Italy i don't like cheaters.
I have the pleasure of WiFi's company for another day
She is a lot better, but no PCR test result yet (although another lateral flow test taken today was again negative). Anyway, she rang the school and they said she had to stay away until the results came in.
Brekkie for me today was a cheese/onion/mushroom omelette on a toasted burger bun. I cooked her ladyship a full English, but gammon replacing the bacon because we didn't have any.

But he's a striker, who would you want to take it then, the goal keeper? It didn't do Southgate any harm.

My point is that he is a very young one and I still maintain it was too big a responsibility to put on such young shoulders. His devastated reaction afterwards showed that up clearly.
From what I've read this morning, apparently there were other much more experienced ones that he could have picked for that last vital position. The last kick always has the potential to be extremely pivotal to the result so putting Kane, Sterling or McGuire in that position would have been wiser. All IMO of course and as I know badger all about football, probably best ignored.

no RF you are right,I don't know any footy fans who can understand how the penalty takers were worked out, taking a pen in training cannot be compared to the emotional position those players were in last night. Those kicks will follow those players around for years now.As for those who abuse the players should be named and shamed, lowest forms of life.😡
