For any observations regarding Waitrose.
Regarding the Waitrose meal deal - now that Marks no longer seem to do their regular mains, side and dessert plus wine for £10 its worth looking at what the other supermarkets have on offer. Waitrose have a £15 meal deal but it seems quite good value - starter, mains, side, dessert and wine.
I got the onion and cheddar tarts which are freezable but they look enough for a lunchtime meal with fridge salad, coleslaw, potato salad etc. Garlic flat bread - which is frozen to go with a midweek pasta back Chicken and sauce for a lazy dinner lemon tart - full size tart so enough for 4 desserts with the carte dor (from the Co-0p meal deal)
Also I got the prosecco which is £10.99 all on its own -useful for the Christmas guests.
So the full price for the meal deal, 2 waitrose magazines £4, Saturday Times £1.90 and latte £2.10 was £34.06.
I did the smaller shop through the till firstly and this gave me a conditional spend till spit, £6 off wys £30 so I gave this back to the till man as the conditional spends work on the original full price before discounts so it sees the full £34.06.
Meal deal took off £11.06, £8 off for paper, coffee and mags, £6 off for conditional spend - final total £9
The till then gave me another conditional spend for a £40 spend which I might use tommorow - I only need another £6 odd of shopping of some sort.
