Good morning everyone. Very cold and frosty with a beautiful blue sky. Makes a change to the weather we've had the last couple of days.
I had my free flu jab yesterday - it was all very streamlined and I was in and out of the Health Centre within 3 minutes.
It's £5 Friday at Mr Shoes. I thought the protect and perfect handcream is good (only if you use it of course). Several items also for anyone who's got a beard:

Good morning all, a tad chilly here
Frost still around on some rooves and the lawns
The garden may well be too wet after yesterday to have a go at the bottom.
Thank you for the cuppa Roma, went down well
The job that was moved from today to Wednesday has now been moved again to "possibly" the start of February thanks to BT, honestly if we operated our company like that we would have been bankrupt long ago!!
Not sure what I will be doing today, sure I will find something.
Many moons ago I worked in a further education college teaching maths to kids who had failed their exams and needed maths to advance themselves in their other subjects but were held back by their lack of a maths pass.
A change of leadership and the course was cut right down on the grounds it wasn’t producing high enough results. So annoying as I wasn’t aiming for a couple of the kids to get As, I was aiming for as many as possible to get pass grades.
Morning all! Thanks for the coffee. It's cold outside but not frosty. We went out for a 5 mile walk at 7am, I just love being out to see the dawn.
Work today but then we're going round our friends house (bubbled) for dinner later :-). Well, we're making the dinner, then taking it round there! It's hard for them to come out in the evening as they have a 1 and 5 year old but I feel guilty that they end up cooking for us all the time :-).
That’s faba-faba-doolous news about your Son Maz! Really pleased, what a great example of never giving up 🤗
It’s Friday!!
Which means the weekend starts tonight with a seafood dinner washed down with chilled white. Tonight’s fare be spicy prawns, hot calamari rings, alioli, lambs lettuce and crusty bread.
As my Grandma used to say, “Joey, always start the day with something to look forward to”.
Well I’m slowly getting more feeling in parts of my back. But paradoxically, as I recover more feeling in my back, the more I can feel pain. So I’m still in the brace topped up with morphine and rum I’m happy enough though, there’s plenty worse than me, and I’m in a far better place now than I was last Summer.
Hope everyone’s coping well and keeping safe and healthy.
l’m still drinking lots of kefir to help my immune system - made from the grains that the lovely BarleySugar kindly sent me ❤️ and drinking lots of San Pellegrino to stay hydrated.
Talking of San Pellegrino, I was courting a young lady many seas ago, and she invited me over. I dropped anchor to admire her treasure chest She had bottles of San Pellegrino all over the place. She explained that she used spring water to top up her water bed to make it bouncier!
Not sure if it worked or not, but I hit the chandelier a few times.
Anyone know how I can find a conversation on Facebook messenger regarding a parcel I posted for someone please Annoyingly some have disappeared. Think bananababe told me before but I've forgotten lol .Thanks
In your activity? Google how to find it, don't know what you are doing it on lol.

Some people across the UK have been able to form household support bubbles or extended households.
The aim is to help people who've been cut off from friends and family.
What is a support bubble? A bubble is a group of people with whom you have close physical contact.
Bubbles must be "exclusive". Once in one, you can't start another with a different household. If you decide to change your bubble, you should treat your previous bubble as a separate household for 10 days before forming a new one.
People in a bubble can stay overnight in each other's homes, visit outdoors places together and do not have to socially distance.
How do they work in England? In England, single adults living alone - or single parents whose children are under 18 - can form a support bubble with one other household.
The second household can be of any size and can include "at risk" people who may be shielding.
Wherever possible, the government recommends that a support bubble should be with another local household to avoid unnecessary travel. Anyone in the bubble contacted as part of England's test and trace programme must stay at home. If they develop coronavirus symptoms, everyone in the bubble must self-isolate.
It's good to hear from you JTS. Your dinner sounds delicious!
Have your medlar trees turned up yet?
Hi freewheeling 🙂
The answer is “yes and no” 🤔
Only one was delivered, as the other one was damaged when lifting, and the nursery had no more at that size. There had been a sudden surge in demand for this obscure ancient tree - see what you started! 🤣
Captain nice to hear from you. Your evening meal sounds delish.
Well thats been a long year, since DS lost his licence, on Wednesday I can have my life back, not that we have got one at the minute. But I will get my evening back and I can start watching these dramas that I am missing. As getting up at 3am in the morning is slowly killing me off.

Di, I think there are now more people now allowed to create a bubble
I read this bbc report on 6 Jan
The government expanded the eligibility of support bubbles in England on 2 December to help families with very young children or people with continuous care needs. This means households can form a support bubble with another household, if at least one of them has:
a child under 1 (regardless of how many other adults are in the household)
a child under 5 with a disability that requires continuous care (regardless of how many other adults are in the household)
a single adult carer (living with any additional adults in the household that have a disability and need continuous care)
I'm guessing Di's post might have be aimed at me. So it's probably worth me pointing out that the 'under 1' bubble applies if the child was under 1 on the 2nd December....which they were.

I'd find getting up at 3am awful too 😬. That's great he's getting his licence back.

Morning gang Yes bubbles have changed this time to include any family with a child under one on 2nd December. They can bubble with one other family of any size as long as they don’t bubble with anyone else .... except they can have a childcare bubble too !!
Been lying in a bit longer but then i have no idea where my morning goes Need to sort that next week as its nearly lunchtime before I am organized
Snow still lying but thawing May get DH to take me for my Boots order later
Cant say I am loving the jigsaw Dh has been "helping" and moving the bits around should have re started doing them with something smaller Never mind I have weeks and weeks to finish it
Can someone remind me the order in which to watch the sad dog films Thanks
Apologies if this has been mentioned before (I haven't read back yet), but to anybody who watched the ITV mini series on The Pembrokeshire Murders, there's a program about the true story behind the series on ITV tonight @ 2100
How long ago was it filmed (the series, not the factual program) as at the end of episode one, the car has a tax disk in is window.
It is dated 2019/20 according to IMDB - it was originally on Alibi and the BBC decided to bring it to a wider audience (great decision as I missed it on there - I didn't realise Alibi broadcast origional content, only repeats . Important lesson there as we could be missing some gems!).
Lots of people left the tax disc in as a momento (or are just too lazy to remove it as it will mean cleaning the tax disc holder circle off the windscreen ).
I did warn that it was a binge programme - I lost most of Sunday to that series 😱😬.
I take it you are enjoying it then?

Watched traces.....it was great and a bit nostalgic to see familiar places from home 🥰
Also absolutely LOVED the Serpent! What a story. Highly recommended.
I’m now watching Ozark on Netflix. Really good. A poor man’s money laundering version of Breaking Bad. Not the same quality but very watchable.
I miss our TV recommendations.
For anyone who has Netflix and just wants a total break from meaningful TV.....please just watch Schitts Creek. It’s delightfully funny, addictive and a total departure from real life. A real tonic! Give it a try

plenty of snow still here Sainsburys cancelled my delivery last night, no great surprise, but it left me without a few essentials have found another slot, but not till Monday we will be raiding the freezer! have a good day all LJx
I have a quandary. I have a small bed sit and have lent it to a friend who is only here for a month or two to work. I originally said just pay electric but we’ve checked and two days running the electric radiator has been on 24/7 and it’s about £40 a week to run 2.5kw plus lights and cooking , maybe more. He only gave us £10 a week in the summer but this is entirely different now that it’s cold and I think a bit disrespectful. How should I tell him to a) switch it off B) pay more. I’m a very fair person, generous to a fault - the fault being I always end up out of pocket and I know he isn’t well off but everyone seems to think I’m rich and takes the pee . Sorry to rant x
A friend of mine has £18 000 on hold with TUI, because a holiday was cancelled due to corona, and tui told them they had to move it to this year, as TUI wouldnt refund them.
Tui have now wrote them a letter and said they could have had the money back but the operator told them the wrong information.
They really dont feel comfortable going on this holiday now, which is in a few months time, as they dont think things are going to be normal by then.
They want to write to the likes of rip off britain, mse, anyone else who could try to get them the money back.
To those looking for shopping slots. I found some on Ocado 2 days ago that were for next day delivery, and there are a few freebies on cos that helps to pay for the delivery charge. Hope that helps anyone stuck at the moment and cant/dont want to go out.
Afternoon all. Better get out for my allowed daily walk with Tessa before the snow arrives. Yes been forecast here
Not sure best way to go about it but as they are living rent free they are definitely winning. More difficult because its a friend and I have the feeling that a direct approach may be required but hard
Do you see the person often enough to say your bills have gone up so much with the cold spell and hope they realise what you are trying to say or next time they offer you the money just say oh that was the summer rate I thought you knew that
They are working so have money coming in It could just be case of sheer ignorance about utilities but still needs to be sorted
