Thank you very very much for all your replies, I’m so grateful for your guys taking time to share your opinions 🤗
Me and my friend have gone thru rough patches and we just really want to unwind. But we’re not really travel enthusiasts unfortunately. Our budget can be between 400-600 per person. The reason I was looking for all inclusive is I’m scared we will spend more or I just heard from some people that it’s worthy to get an all inclusive one. But my friend really wants to explore the cuisine and be in a sunny beach as well.
Since this will be my first time to travel outside UK I want it to be a good one because I honestly don’t know when will be the next 😂
Thank you all so much ! I know I can rely on you all 😍
Good morning all, there is beach close to Venice reached by ferry across the lagoon in Lido de Jesolo, but not this time of the year. For first time abroad I would not venture out of europe and there are some very sunny spots in March such as southern Spain and as others have said the Canary Isles.
I totally agree with the southern Spain/ Canaries as you can almost guarantee fine weather. Venice is a three day trip IMO - very busy and very expensive, although in summer the lido (beach) is gorgeous x
A little question for anyone who might know. I'm interested in the NordVpn cashback deal, but I don't have a premium Q account. It offers me 70% cashback, then takes me to Nord who say 70% off if you take a 3 year deal, at £96.74. So, does that mean I pay the 96 quid and get 70% cashback on that? Also, it defaults to a 0% vat US option, so will I need to change that to UK and pay 20% vat on top?
So flipping confusing.
Yes, 70% of £96.74 (if you are in the US - or you can change to UK and pay an extra 20% if you wish ), so around £67.71 cashback. Or more sensibly, change your Q account to Premium (can downgrade next month/after it pays out if you no longer want it?) for a £1 per month deducton off your cashback, for an additional £67.71 cashback on the current offer (a no brainer ).

Just signing up with Nord - can I ask, will it all still work if I opt for payment by direct debit? and if yes, what if I cancel after a few months?

I think I read it to mean they took the full subscription in one go at the start. It is a bit unclear.
Lovely to hear your trip stories freewheeling. I'm heading out to India with DH and eldest DS for a month touring next week. I organised it all myself and we are using the trains to get about too. Heading to Rathambore for 2 safaris later this month hope we are lucky enough to see a tiger too. Really excited and nervous it's the biggest holiday I have organised so far!
I haven't caught up yet but I thought I'd better reply to these messages before I forgot!
Russetred that sounds like a fantastic trip! Where else are you going? I've been so lucky in Ranthambhore. I've taken 3 safaris and seen 1 tiger on the first, 2 on the second, and 3 on the third! On the third safari we saw two (big) cubs playing with each other in a lake. The scenery is generally amazing too. Today I was still at Ranthambhore but hadn't booked any safaris. So I took a shared jeep to the fort. It was so full I was sharing the front passenger seat with two other people. I only had half a bum cheek inside the jeep and I had to cling on for dear life!! On the way back I took my chances with the tigers and walked back.
I've been lucky with the trains maybe, they've all been positive experiences. It does party depend on which class you book I expect. For the overnight train I booked 2AC, which is actually the second best out of 5 different classes! The toilets were fine, even after 13 hours :-)
Strawberri, yes I'm female and travelling alone. To be honest it's a difficult question to answer. I expect it partly depends on how you're thinking of travelling, and what your tolerance to be stared at is! It helped that I'd been to India before with my husband so I knew what to expect. I'm quite a confident person but the truth is that you will get stared at and you'll probably generate a lot of interest, which some people could well find intimidating. I do sometimes! However the vast majority of people are friendly and mean well. That said, it can't be ignored that India has a not great record of violence towards women. I dress very conservatively when in India i.e no shorts or vest tops etc and so far I haven't had any negative experiences.
I read it, was about GD and school etc. Someone playing silly boogers and deleting posts?
I have checked the logs, and it says that you deleted it Wendy. Im presiming you didnt, so if this is something that happens again with anyone else, let me know please so I can look further into it.

I ve googled nordvpn and as far as I see it's to have a safer internet. is that right please or are there any benefits money wise to be had too 🤔
Some peeps use it to get cheaper Netflix by pretending to be in another country, also use to stream music and movies from illegal sites, it stops them being traced I think.
When doing cashback etc, it is probably best to turn it off and use your "normal" internet.

The main reason we're discussing N0rd VPN is because there's money to be made. Sign up to new Squidco premium at £1/month. Get 140% cashback with Nord VPN = profit.
VPN does have other benefits...when on holiday abroad you can watch UK catch up services live or on demand (useful if you haven't downloaded before leaving UK). OH used a VPN to watch rugby world cup matches live when we were on holiday in Sept/Oct 2019 via BeeBeeC/ITeeV. You need to connect to the relevant server i.e. UK when abroad to watch UK TV programmes.
Another use is to get cheaper subscription services, e.g. Netflicks and Spottify. UK cost £10/month but connect to Turkish server and purchase for £4/month (using fee free card). Use account as normal without connecting to VPN thereafter. Not for everyone and perhaps best to discuss further upstairs although there's been multiple threads about this on the darkside.
I'm not wanting to start a moral debate here, I'm just highlighting uses of VPN. You can decide what is above/below your line.
Hi freewheeling. We are starting in Delhi then on to Agra next is rathambore. Back to Delhi overnight train to Amritsar and back to Delhi. Flight to Varanasi then flight to Mumbai. inland to Arungabad for Ellora caves then back to Mumbai. Flight to Benaulim Goa for flumping on the beach for 9 days before heading back to Delhi for a day before flying home. And breathe! A right whirlwind but had to fit in everyone's choices. Cost should come in around 4K for 3. Had a look at similar tours and they were asking 5.5k -6k pp. Proper excited now.
I am a right idiot - I looked at the list of stores this morning and I thought it was the list of stores that ARE taking part - not the exclusion list - it sort of fitted in with a theory that it was just city stores .....

Wish we had a tech expert on here.

I probably qualify for that.
I bought NordVPN purely for the cashback. I haven't even set it up yet.
I have bought Argentinian Netflix though....but that was via using a FREE VPN app on my phone. You only need to do the initial set-up through VPN. I have it hooked up directly for viewing.
As others have said the reasons you'd want it normally are to "appear" as another IP address, in a different country perhaps....if you wanted to watch some locally restricted stuff (iplayer etc.) or be more anonymous. Also if you want to hide activity etc.
We've joined free and paid trials of VPN when abroad. Can be a bit hit and miss, we have had occasions when we've been booted out of the "UK" server and they've said that there are times when the vigilante's are too quick for them and they can't offer a UK service. It's a pain because then you have to find another one that has a UK offering.
I thought the logic with it is that you sign up to say USA Netflux and then get access to the USA Netflux offering, which can be a lot better than the UK. If your VPN fails, you may not be able to sign in to your Netflux account, or find that certain programmes get blocked. In reverse, it means that you can appear to be in the UK and receive all of the iplayer programmes.
Which of the valentine's Day meal deals are the best value please
It depends what you mean by best value...I thought the morries one was good value at £15. The T one just seemed to be a rehash of previous years with a few additions for the vegetarians in the form of wicked ready meals I usually like the M&S one but haven't really looked into it this year although I understand it does come with the added bonus of 4 chocs
For me the best value was W ...not just because I had a gift card but because it's selection was a little more in tune with what I wanted...although I will admit that if you are not a steak lover then this one might not be for you...I think from memory there were 2 types of steak plus a venison steak to choose from
The T, W and M&S are all £20
If youre not that fussed about fizz being part of the deal I still think that actually the normal £10 T everyday meal deal is not a bad deal.
I did see that Iceland had something which might be of interest to some 3 Gino things from his range...pizza,lasagne,tirimisu type things with a bottle of wine for £10...that didn't seem to bad in the pictures but I didn't look specifically in store to see what it actually looked like

Life is a strange thing, just when you think you've learned how to use it, it's gone
Welllllllll I enjoyed steak, chips and chocolate melt in the middle puddings x2 , there were other choices for £6 less 10% discount from the co op. The Waitrose one worked out cheap by buying the dearest items as the till recognises the single items helped with a conditional spend 😀
