At least you are getting it all solved. Is it wrong to be counting down the time, 17 months till I turn 50 and can get free eye tests without hunting around.
I didn't know that you could get free eye tests at 50.
Oooops, that will teach me for talking and typing. Of course I meant 60, and thank you sooooo much for not questioning me being under 50

Not the best saving but two month NOW TV entertainment pass gift cards are £10 - I just bought one in Morrison’s - the monthly cost for the entertainment package has now gone up to £8.99 so two months for £10 when there are no free codes about keeps us going. I think I’ll buy another one tomorrow which will see us through over Christmas and January. Hope this helps somebody.
Oh Pandora bless you, I'm not sure how old your son is but I think they are all the same. My son went away for a few days with the school, he's room was awful. I emptied it😱 I took everything out, down the stairs in a room we didn't really use at the time, painted his bedroom and washed the curtains. He then had the pleasure of sorting through his shiit to take back upstairs, he wasn't expecting that on his return 😂

My kids hide socks and cups in their rooms. 52 socks found in one room once. Singles, under the bed etc (girls before you say)

Try cancelling your pass first. I did that the other day, and got offered it for just over £3 a month for 4 month.

There is 50% back when you buy online using Am3x (check accounts, opt in required), max £25 saving.
Oops sorry just quoted but didn’t actually type my reply.
DM I was hoping they would offer me a good deal like that but after cancelling two weeks ago nothing! I think it may be because I generally use codes for the entertainment package rather than actual money leaving my account. I did manage to get the movies for £4 a month for three months though.
My son logs onto the NOW TV account from his uni house and we use it on a couple of devices at home so we get good use out of it.
I must be the only parent of teenage kids that their rooms are actually tidy. They have always put the washing in the basket in the bathroom, or sometimes it ends up ontop or next to.
They never leave cups or plates in the room, I do find crisp packets and cans of pop but not lots of them, just the odd one.
It would be £21.99 for 6 months of entertainment and cinema.
Thanks Anon. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting an Amex card. I love all the offers you all post about on here with them. I’ll definitely look into this.
DS has gone on a rare evening out so I thought I'd take the opportunity to tidy his room
An hour later, I think I have lost the will to live - how can youngsters live like this? I feel lucky to come out alive ...
My son is now 32. Until he was 16 I used to regularly tidy his room and vacuum it. One day he complained I had not done it properly so from that day I did not even go in it. There was one time he complained there was a funny smell in it so I told him to look under his bed as that was where he used to leave his half full cereal dishes, he brought down the 4 cereal dishes I was missing with various growths of mould, one of them looked as if it was about to learn to walk!
He was banned from taking food upstairs after that!
When he left home it took him 2 years to empty the room!

I would have stopped cleaning his room as well...
When I moved out of my parents house, my mum visited about a week later, bringing every item I had left behind including everything out of the loft..... there is no wonder my kids still have boxes of stuff left at me house (which I have boxed up and taken to the new house!)

I have received my refund for the paper, quite quick. Reluctant to tell those on FB about it though, if they don't know how to sort it out by now they never will.

It was scary when my daughter moved out and we sorted everything out, there was A LOT. Can't do that with my son yet, they are still in a rented flat with a shortage of space!

If you need an Am3x referral please feel free to PM for an enhanced joining offer 😉.
Kids and stuff, that reminds me of the gavin and stacey episode of the box Van full of Stacey's stuff arriving in Essex 😱😂
The day I emptied my sons room out my daughter found me crying on the bottom of the stairs, she thought someone had died😱. I was bloody knackered and overwhelmed, like Enterprise I found missing kitchen items, empty beer bottles the list goes on. I have boxes now storing for this son probably crap but at least its in boxes in a cupboard.
Just had a reply from the paper seller, went to print the returns label and there is a note saying very sorry, refund issued, no need to return item". Will wait and see if the refund actually arrives.
Yes Ive had the same message re refund. Havent actually received the paper yet, but it shows as despatched.
Been at work until late tonight, has TM got into her garage yet?
Just logging on now
we turned the house upside down looking for the spare key without success.
We ended up having to break through from the attached stable with Mr TM climbing into the roof void to the garage and opening the manual door from the inside. He squeezed through the tiniest of gaps😱 He could have drilled out the lock but that would have cost us.😕
when we eventually got into the garage the keys for the manual garage door weren't even in the car. They are lost. Totally lost. So we ended up (when I say we,I don't mean me😕) having to switch over the locks from the remote garage door to the manual one, in case someone found the keys.
i probably haven't explained that well but at least I understand. It's been one of those days😕

My daughters bedroom was so untidy when she lived at home. I made her clean and tidy it herself from the age of 15 but often had to prompt her to do it but since she has her own house she keeps the whole house clean and tidy ! We often laugh about it now how she couldn’t keep one room tidy but now she has a house to clean herself she manages quite easily.
Actually, thinking about it, is there not a manual override on your electric door? There should be, when I was looking at new doors I stumbled across electric ones and they all had manual overrides!

Never know, they might have the added side effect of clearing up that strange rash you were telling me about
