Not good news the little house DD3 and BF were buying has fallen through, so angry the seller just went quiet after they had paid around Ā£1500, search pack, survey solicitor fees etc. They had signed mortgage deed and weāre ready to exchange. They knocked as no one could get hold of her. Apparently she sent email weeks ago but estate agents said not and they think she has blocked their number as they kept trying but it says user busy. Not sure who to believe she was buying through same estate agent too. First they knew something wasnāt right was when their solicitor emailed hers and got a email back to say she was no longer client due to conflict of interest. š¤·š»āāļø
How people can do that to young couple who have been saving hard is beyond me. Even if her purchase is as she told them ānot the oneā surely you would keep lines communication open until you found another. They would have been happy to wait longerā¦
Thatās disgusting. Should be a law against this. I understand that someone might want to change their mind but some sort iof recompense should be put in place when someone goes as far as having a survey . Thatās would be my fear. Because of this it is encouraging people to not have a survey done. Which could cause all sorts of potential complications.
I think I am going mad... I was sure we had a thread upstairs for cheap mobile deals but I can't find it. So apologies for putting this here but I hope someone can help me please.
I'm soon ready to change my Lebara plan to a cheaper one and would be grateful for advice about how to do this. I am looking at this page www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheap-mobile-finder/sim-only-filters/ Sadly, because I go abroad on Tuesday for a week, I'm probably going to miss the deal at the top of the page but what's the best way of switching plans please?
Might it be worth going for the Spusu contract for a month or two and then is it possible to switch back to one of the cheap Lebara deals or will Lebara spot what I'm doing and stop me? I want to keep my number. Or do you think if I phone them, they will be able to shift me to the 5GB contract? (I appreciate I won't get the 6 months at Ā£1.) At the moment I have the 12 GB one and I don't use anything like that. (I took it out as I'd no idea how much I'd use since until I retired, work paid for my mobile.)
A related question: I am helping a friend move from Vodafone to Lebara and they will go for the one at the top of the list. Lebara offers me a personal referral link. Do I assume it's not compatible with the MSE offer please?

This time it's ombre leather. Aldi better hurry up and make a dupe of it. One of the families I am researching I have just made contact with a great granddaughter. GGgrandmother seems to have been a very late surprise baby - her mother was 57 when she was born - it is quite possible I imagine. The eldest sibling is a half sister and she is 37 years older and the youngest 16 years older. I am just starting researching all of the 8 other siblings just to remove any doubt that the late surprise baby wasn't actually an illegitimate child of one of the sisters but registered and brought up by her grandparents. On the 1901 census there are 3 unmarried daughters all living at home - unless at some stage someone decides to do a DNA test we will never know for sure
Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains
DD2 is playing her first ever FA cup game this afternoon, at 26c doesn't really feel like the weather for soccer season!
Very hot one here today as well. Currently reading 26.5 degrees outside in the shade. Far too hot for your DD to be chasing a ball around!
IT was too hot - and that was just for me sitting in the shade, car said 30c as we drove home and it had been parked in the shade! Luckily DD2 is new to the team so was their second half sub for her position, she played well but didn't score although with a bit more match sharpness could easily have had a hat trick. Still her team 'march on' to the next round so more opportunities to come.

Years ago we got a call on exchange day that the other couple had pulled out of buying our house. They sent a telegram as didnāt want to phone or anything and didnāt want to divulge their phone number ! We were left in the lurch big time and had to drastically reduce our place to get a new buyer . The day we finally completed our solicitor handed us a massive bill for all the extra work and wanted it before they allowed completionā¦ā¦ not surprisingly I havenāt moved for over 40 years !!

Thanks Tweets, but no. I thought we had a thread upstairs. And now the post you have quoted has disappeared . š„ŗ
Edit: this is so weird. I can find my post (thank you to whoever moved it) if I look at my recent posts but, on the phone at least, I can't see the thread. I've just shifted to the PC and will go looking. I am definitely going mad!!!

Nor me. So really bad here. How much effort do most people go to just to get Ā£1000 in savings without someone just cancelling like that. Hereās another strange one here. Family member sold their house. Iām going to use capital letters here : 8 MONTHS LATER this guy who bought it (Romanian) contacted them to say that they had to replace the downstairs toilet floor. They wanted to update and found a leak. He said that they really should pay for it. They didnāt of course. Apparently they got hold of the Estate Agents . They were told by the Estate agents they have got no chance but tried anyway.
Can I take something back to Marksies without a receipt (Gift) to swap for a smaller size. Don't want a refund and checked online and the price is the same?

When I sold my flat 10+ years ago, I got an email almost a year later asking why the electricity bill was so high and the heating only worked at night. It was an immersion water heater and night storage heaters and theyād had them both switched to on at all times even in the summer.
Amazing news today that has totally rocked my world .. Friend of 55 and wife of 49 are having their first child. We meet them socially about three times a year and they always said they didnāt want but felt it was more āit just didnāt happenā She is four months and baby is healthy but literally 6 weeks and sheās 50 !!!!
I'm torn between congratulating her and offering her a shoulder to cry on.
I personally would be crying for the full 9 months and longer šŖ

I would suggest yes
They are usually very good and give you a credit note for a return without a receipt. Then ābuyā the smaller size with credit note š.

Oh flip... I'm 55 and still fertile.... I'm becoming a nun!
My nan was 45 when she had my uncle, she thought she was going through the change, my dad was 16!
Fear munger š
My cousin was 49 when she gave birth (49 and 4 months). She had three grown up children and had remarried a much younger man. She didnāt have any medical intervention and other than a hormone blood test beforehand no extra treatments. She fell pregnant within three months and up until the birth everything went perfectly. Heās now at senior school and a cheeky 12 year old x
if you got sent a Ā£5 off Ā£25 spend from Lakeland in the post, it works on anything even if under Ā£25, at the moment its free delivery until 5th sept. comsav too and it might work coz its seems to be saying its gift coucher rather than a promo code so you never know
Pleasant start to the day here, not too hot (yet!) with a cloudless sky. It was very misty, almost foggy, very early on but the sun has burned that off now thankfully. I know it was the first day of Meteorological autumn yesterday but it doesn't need to look quite so much like it just yet!
