I hate the wind too😕😕😕Ive had a few sleepless nights this past week.
Called by an M&S today to get my large Percy pigs🤗🤗🤗🤗I couldn't see any other varieties but it was a small store. I'm slowly filling up a cupboard with them. I daren't open them or I just eat them all😕
I moved out at 18 into am old terraced house with slate roof. Every time one fell when it was windy it cost me £50 and when you can just about cover your mortgage and car and kwik save shop it's scary! So it comes from that. You used to be able to hear them like a musical instrument comb. Now I live on a corner and my bedroom is downstairs in a single storey extension, so close to the roof and it terrifies me.
Growing up I lived in a house with a telegraph pole in the yard carrying electricity to a garage across the road. i used to watch it move about in the wind 😱

Reminds me of an earlier life I was a BT Linesman and climbed those poles in all weathers ... we had a safety harness of course, but one winters day my fingers were so frozen that I couldn't undo the buckle to climb down. So there I stood at the top of the pole with hands in pockets to defrost ... and yes you can feel them move in the wind ...
Yes mr TM has it. His dad and uncle had it too. I don't think it bothers him too much snap. Are you going for an op?
forgot to mention
I priced new soles for a pair of shoes today. Leather soles are £45 and rubber £30 in Timpsons🙄🥴
Try local shoe repairers, probably a lot cheaper.
Totally agree! I needed 2 new front door keys cutting...phoned Timpsons, 2 for £15...phoned the local cobblers 2 for £7 !!
I admire James Timpson as a philantropist, and enjoyed listening to a podcast and learning more about his employment ethics..... but more than double the price??
Can you put in a complaint to the football league/FA or whoever. I know my son plays Sunday football, and they had an issue once where a team claimed the pitch was unplayable..I think it was because they didnt have enough players that week. Anyway, I understand they complained and got it upheld.
Hmm - may need to change the names to protect the guilty here based on what has since come to light....

Come on then, spill the beans! Also, has the car gone yet? Why were you selling if you were using it to run the house?

I took two bracelets in to be engraved... £15 each, one engraving was crap, the other was so bad it ruined the bracelet.... it made me wonder if I'd go bk.
Can I ask if anyone else has Dupuytren's contracture?
Just had my palm lump confirmed Unfortunately it's a hereditary condition (Great Aunt, Mother & Sister) I thought as my Sister has it I wouldn't
I was born with bent little fingers. But never had it diagnosed as anything. My mum and nan and youngest sister have it too. Never caused any problems. Except when learning sign language lol.

Have decided that if I got a bigger battery car then it could do even more for the house and the small batt ran out/made us economise and also displacing some 10p gas with 4.5p electric.
Plus we can use it for journeys beyond the range of our main small batt car like today on the way to the far football match when the poor weather conditions would otherwise have result in the small batt car being very tight or even needing a charge stop.
Car is due to be picked up on Thursday. Sold for 250 more than we paid in June so happy with that.
Morning all, fresh coffee and tea ready. Poor nights sleep due to wind and inconsiderate neighbours. Quick breakfast then out with the dogs, my take a trip to Company shop later.
Couldn't sleep what with things on my mind and the wind - WiFi neither, so she's on her laptop with tea in bed and I've given her an egg & bacon toastie. She'll sleep again, whilst I head over the county border for cheaper fuel and a cheaper wetherspoons in about an hour.
Hopefully last Sunday doing Dad duty as new Sunday carers starting today 😊
We've had a huge amount of telegraph poles erected all over our side of town, supposedly for broadband. But, the 'right side of the river' have had their cables laid underground 🤬
Huge tarry poles approximately 20 yards apart, on our front paths.

Thanks, Mother had her's operated on to straighten them, my sister just had injections at the moment. Mine is just a palm lump, so will be monitored for finger curling. Hopefully it won't happen 😊
I remember my Great Aunt having sponges in her clenched palms as I presume in the 1960s it wasn't dealt with like today
