On Blue Light cards - I'm a retired civilian employee and tried to renew mine a while back but was told that as a retired civilian I couldn't. Anyway, they kept sending me renewal reminders so I emailed them and asked them to stop as there was no point if i couldn't renew.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I had another email suggesting I renew and upload evidence of eligibility, so I uploaded my pension P60 and hey-ho was told it was accepted and I could send my £4.99 off for renewal, which I did so now awaiting my new card.
My only grouch is that last time it was £4.99 for five years. Now it's the same price for two years ...
Please tell how one keeps broccoli fresh, is it a damp towel too🤔
Oh....I'll do a carrot update tomorrow. 😂😂😂😂
broccoli keeps much longer in a damp tea towel. If you have wilted greens wrap them in a damp tea towel too and they will miraculously turn crisp again.
the lemons in water peaked at about 5 weeks as the skins became too soft

Get in quick sleazy. The 10% at Asda is only on until October
On the subject of Blue Light cards.....husband is retired NHS so entitled to the card, which he has bought. So far,so good. There is a section for Blue Light tickets (concerts, exhibitions etc). It needs a different log in but has to include a work email (obviously he no longer has his NHS one). He contacted them a few weeks ago, no response. Any ideas??

OH has had a blue light card for ages, registered with a private email? Unless it's changed?
Don't use it very often, him in Halfords for 10% (you need to request a barcode to show instore) DS had 20% off Jd online so £15 off a pair of trousers...
Some stores ask for ID though as I would love to use it and he's rarely with me in a supermarket.
Thankfully!
Morning all. Who's doing the brews please? But wear a mask and leave it by the door. ☹️
Not known for passing comment on costs but "fuel" last week was just silly I am making a list of items I want to stock up on going to try and make one round trip Wont be shopping every day now

Stay safe and hope the weather improves for the weekend
Had a day out at the seaside with friends yesterday, followed by a cheap night in a Travelodge. Looking forward to my own bed tonight is all I can say! DH is still full of cold and has spent most of the night coughing, which didn't help.
We filled up the car on Wednesday in readiness. Drove back past the petrol station a couple of hours later and the price had gone up by 2p. Driving is fast becoming a luxury. We're off up to Durham for a week next weekend, dread to think what that's going to cost 😳
Morning all, tea please. All ok here, not been able to keep up with the thread - too many appointments and busy at work. Shocking price rises on everything, mentally unstable lunatic has a lot to answer for. Hugs and have a good Friday xx
