Morning.... I would add good, but it is not good, as I have just got dressed and as I was putting my boots on, my bra wire snapped.... so the big decision... change or crack on for the day..... the latter has won.... off to work I go!
Looks like America is on a knife edge. Butterflies in my tummy😕
Mantleclock.....any news on your parents? I hope all is well
SSM ....yes etsy. I'm getting a lot of satisfaction ordering from smaller independent traders. Amazon will survive all this but the small guys may not😕
Morning all, hugs to everyone. DD4 birthday today OMG where do the years go she is 23. DD1 had baby number 2, on 2/11/20 weighing 7lbs14oz a baby girl called Marnie Isabell all went well she came home yesterday and will catch a glimpse today before lockdown starts again. So hopefully that is it for the older kids having grandkids that is 8 now. Looking for apple EarPods as a present, cheapest at the min I can find is £124.99 on O2, but student discount codes doesn't work, any1 seen them cheaper or know a simple way for any discounts don't do the comsav thing have seen mentioned. Also does any1 know if argos price match still, know they used to. And can u still get a student account without been an actual student. would prefer uni days have seen u can buy them on the Bay has any one here bought one of there and it been ok.Thanks in advance for any replies.
I am so tempted by the bracelet but GD only seems to wear stuff bought by the other Grannie. I wonder why?
Yesterday's visit to the kids eventually got round to Christmas gifts and Santa. Oldest pointedly said "santa" had been asked for ear pods
Wee ones had a full list of rubbish. 9 yr old was surprised I had a budget and even more surprised it was quite low. IMO way to much for each of them for one day
Enjoy the last day before lockdown. We could be following shortly
Costa - DS got a leaflet for BOGOF on their signature Christmas coffees. Just one per customer and outlet specific
Also had an Aldi Christmas leaflet which included "Food for Parties" ? Asda one, in store, similar. Asda one had some lovely recipes though
Don't know how else Christmas could be marketed but planning for two is less exacting than for, say 12 especially with kids. Hopefully it will pass by next year and we can make 2021 a year to remember
£2.50 for a two pack of tins is how I read it (£5 for 2x double pack). Tinned meat is mega expensive! A canned of cheapest chopped ham is £1+. Did it use to be cheap? We won’t even mention the price of tuna. I remember when it was 33p a tin, beans and spaghetti were 3p a tin, tomatoes were 9p a tin and you could do a whole shop for a family of four for £10 a month!
(I know I sound like I’m taking the mickey but back in 2003 our budget for three adults and a little’un was £40 a month so 3p beans from Tesco were a lifesaver. We didn’t really have whoopsies or glitches back then that I knew of)
Yes I think you are right. 4 tins😊
Nice fried on butties ..
Good Morning all. Just tucking into a small piece of buttered stollen

Congratulations Durham. My Nan was Alice Isabel and one of my granddaughters is Seren Isabella lol.
Anyone got any suggestions for a second name for Daisy please . I said Mae but they haven t decided yet.lol
Yes you can still get a student account but I'm not thinking of unidays.

Mrs Mac I have a budget for all the grandchildren and if they do nt like it too bad lol. It has recently gone up to £25 each from £20. They all get too much anyway in my opinion. Most seem to want money now too. If they wanted presents I could get twice as much for my money as we all could lol.So in it goes in one of those nice Christmas wallets you can get. I could afford more but I prefer to help their parents if need be. Oh and they have a selection box and possibly a couple of small items.

As for a second name, how about Rose to keep the flower theme, or something like Alice to go modern & traditional.
Off on a bike ride to a local town today, last chance to meet my bf before lock down, well, last official chance anyway, all depends on how long it lasts but we wont be breaking rules especially as her husband is definitely very vulnerable to the disease.
Emerald Agree with you that they get too much. I often "slip" some money to the DIL or DS in the form of Asda vouchers to top up Christmas shops Why do we need all this extra food This year it will be Tesco vouchers from SME
For the estranged family, I used to do the money route via parents and kids knew that but there was always a box of 12 small stocking fillers which they loved ripping open You would have thought they hadn't had a gift in years The best part was sourcing all those bits and bobs throughout the year
Good morning all congratulations Durham - I am out and about early got a few things to do - I will probably avoid the supermarkets today as I think they might be manic
Morning all. Can’t sleep so compiling a shop at sains to use a coupon. Wishing sains would accept gc payment online. U would think they would these days to encourage people to shop online.
Gocat, They now take egiftcards online but you can’t enter physical giftcards. Go figure? If you’re doing ComSav you can get the S egiftcards through gift choice (via ArgosJ.
Do we know if Argos is shutting for Lockdown 2. I’m assuming so, so going there to get giftcards today.

In Wales here they are shut but at Sainsbury’s there is an option to click and collect so ok for online items but not gift cards. We have two Argos 's in the own but only the one ever opened up to now anyway
mrsmac, Auntie is still the same on palliative care. It's hard to tell but when cousin has talked to her about my Mum she seems to get cross. We think it's because Mum hasn't visited and she doesn't understand why - so difficult.
