They could of been done all through last lockdown anyway.
Not at the garage I have used for years as they closed for the duration of the lockdown and a while afterwards as well. I thought all garages closed during that period which was why they extended the MOTs.
Not a single garage was closed. I live in the South East. My son in laws Garage was classed as an essential business.
Crikey looks like we are going on holiday to Tenerife on Friday! Tui just emailed to say its still on. I havn't even dug out the suitcases yet.
Fab! Assume you must live in Scotland? Hope you manage it 🤞🏻 We're considering the Canaries for Xmas. Was idly browsing for flights last week and there are some bargains but will have to be a wait and see game for now.

Sorry. Double checked with family member and he said a ‘few’ were closed but majority stayed open.

In which case I can't see why they needed to extend MOTs by 6 months. If they assumed they would all stay open as 'essential businesses' then there was no need to do that.
From a quick straw poll of friends and relatives around the country, not one of them had a garage near them open or were able to book an MOT during the lockdown.
Very confusing. However it doesn't matter now as I have a new ticket for another year
Car MOT due at end of December, I'm sure that garages will be busy after lockdown and at the start of winter, so have booked a service and MOT for the first Friday in December.
Having mine done on Thursday, it's a delayed July one.

Cannot answer for other Garages however our Garage had a contract with a funeral directors not sure if that made a difference. He was doing MOTs all through . He had loads of cancellations but essential workers were still keeping their vehicles MOTs up.

Why, garages should remain open it’s only showrooms that will close ?

To stop people going out just to get an MOT if their car wasn’t in use much ( or at all ) x
Bananababe....my bracelets arrived today ! Lovely they are too ! Ordered on Sunday and delivered today...definitely not dodgy at all !!! X
So pleased to hear this. I absolutely love this bracelet. Postage is £3.99. Thanks too to BB and DM. We eventually get there when we pool our knowledge. I've ordered it and it will make a lovely gift
Managed to use my dining out card bought last year from T tonight in harvester as it expired mid Nov. Combined it with a 50% off food email offer. Such a shame as the restaurant was adequately spaced out and did feel comfortable. The waitress said that they are fully booked until closing and all day tomorrow! I only went to save wasting a £20 voucher although we spent the same again.
