Good afternoon all, so cold today Ive put the heating on. Gorgeous photos today. Di, that view I take it is near your house - beautiful, also Tm, that reminds me of my childhood spent in the country. Mks, the bread looks great, just a tad over proved but sure its tastes great so no matter. Hope you are all keeping calm and carrying on. I am having so many strange and unsettling dreams, but my only real worry is for my family who are all doing the right thing, otherwise Im pretty calm about the whole thing, so don't know why Im having all these nightmares Anyway, have a great day everyone. x
Dave, I have a query. I have been trying to use the .net page on my tab,but every time I try to sign in it goes to .co.uk, any idea hoe I canget round this please? I did try tapatalk but forgot the password and could not get back on.
Thats fine, once the .co.uk site closes, it will stop diverting you.
I think the bread looks wonderful... the only way to make it better is to have butter on the top of it!
But, I do have to admit to buying white bread from Asda whoopsy time................ and then pumping last night............... OH said I am not allowed any more white bread!
We went to Asda at the right time earlier this week and all the large loaves were 10p, so I got a malted loaf. I can't make it for that price!
MKS your loaf looks lovely. Homemade bread is delicious :-).

I'm having really uncomfortable dreams too - not quite nightmares but VERY disturbing and, once the dream has woken me up, I just can't get back to sleep. Lying in bed in the early hours and not being able to switch my thoughts off is not good.
Incidentally, I personally can't get worked up or upset about a few 'not very friendly' posts. I just skim on to the next friendlier posts and take the attitude that a very few people on here are just prats that I would avoid like the plague if I met them in real life.
Thx for new thread DM ๐. Hope squashed fingers + cut leg (FW) and bumped nose (MW) are suitably recovering. Showers and sunshine here in Bucks. Just baked more cookies ๐ช, help yourselves Used up wholemeal flour yesterday, today we have moved onto the white plain stuff with a bit of bicarb. Although was told of a local deli selling flour out of a big bag, so might investigate over the w/e. Rebellion beer being delivered for OH tomorrow, so we can stay put . Hope you lot are all staying well.
It is now 2 weeks since I should have gone on holiday and had a refund . Opted for cash refund and was advised it could take longer than 2 wks by lastminute.com *rolls eyes*. Donโt think I am the only one .
Nephew in NL completed his BSc finally (18 mnths after others he started with due to alsorts of problems) and is now a Maritime Officer but job that was waiting for him 5 wks ago has now evaporated, such uncertain times! DS will finish degree this summer in Finance & Accounting, no idea what heโll do after, apart from live here .

I know a few graduates in the same position.
Itโs so sad that there is or may be very few jobs about soon
SSM. Hope is ok.
My son is one of them....he spends ages applying for graduate jobs all over the country. He graduated last summer. Heโs had a few interviews but non successful yet.

Just be careful with reduced bread, as it can be false economy if you won't eat it immediately - bread is going mouldy quickly are the moment, as I found this morning ๐จ.

Hi tbw, apparently it's a recognised phenomenon. I heard that it's the brains way of processing the overload of information received during the day.
i don't get worked up or upset either. I just find it tedious and boring and can't be bothered with it. The Covid thread upstairs could be a great place to debate and swap ideas and knowledge but instead has become a vehicle for political assertions. It's a sad day when we just can't respect what others say and just move on.๐

Stick it straight in the freezer and just take out what you need๐

Freezers are still full in case of emergency - no room for cheap bread ๐ฌ.
Thanks to elaine for getting me a guest pass for the Company shop. What a treat! I had a fabulous hour or so perusing bargains and then got another guest pass as I came out. Happy days. I'll be back next weekend๐
I skipped past the fresh meat and veg as I have enough. The best bargains were the Greek salad cheese for 30p, 60p pack of cat food, 4 packs of yoghurts for 10p, 3 boxes of crackers for ยฃ1, 75p butter, perfect waitrose bananas for 20p, waitrose spread 2 for ยฃ1, morrisons weetabix for 30p, most of the ready meals were ยฃ1. I treated ozto some squirrel for ยฃ1.25๐
PM baby has been called Wilfred Laurie Nicholas Johnson - I think someone mentioned Wilfred when you discussed it the other day?

Good grief - a lifetime of misery when completing application forms starting with trying to get his full name on a passport application form ....
Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others,or to diminish something of their pains

DS2 had made completed a lot of applications, he went for his first interview the day before lockdown (a very long way from home).... apparently it was awful, people working around the office crying (he thought it was all Covid 19 related). I think that they forgot they had scheduled the interview... DS2 said the progressed but it was really a total waste of time, and they eventually admitted that due to Covid they were not in a position to recruit but would like to employ him when things are resolved.
Only wished they had said this before he travelled at such a dangerous time... I recommended he never worked for them (based on the staff crying rather than how unprofessional they were towards him).... and this was a very big company within the financial industry.

Flip, DS3 is still at home... if there is food in the house he will eat it.... unless we cover it in BBQ sauce... then it is safe!

I was watching Gangs of London, but found I was not able to sleep afterwards... so I have just binged watched it now.... only to find out that my sleep is Covid related... bottom!
I have to admit.... not showered or cleaned my teeth today. I will not tell you about the video meetings I have had this week, my standard of hygiene, dress and the state of the bedroom I was in! SSM hangs head in shame!
There was something on the telly the other day about more people dreaming and its just to do with all what's going on and how it remains in your brain
They are really impressive.
I applied for a membership when this was last talked about, so hoping to get a reply. If I am accepted, I will be more than happy to post any guest passes out to Elite x

Oh no! How disappointing. Luckily we never seem to get mouldy bread. This particular loaf is from Tuesday and it's still fine.
TM, what amazing bargains. I wish we had one of those near us.
