Thank you both π Iβll accept gladly π as I think last time I was 49kg must have been in my childhood. But mostly gaining a bit will be a sign that my system is getting nutrients from the copious amounts I eat and possibly the end of the fatigue that has blighted me
My sister just text, my niece has covid π±, she works in a care home and her test has come back positive although she is not poorly, they have all got to go tomorrow for test and all in quarantine
Oh Bubbs, hope it turns to be a false positive π€and they are all ok. Sending hugs π

Thanks, last week's were clear, she has to have them every week , yes fingers crossed
My DS built his own computer some years back possibly around 2014 when he had just finished GCSE's. Got most of the components from Amazon and used some you tube videos.
Wouldnt say it was particularly easy but its still going strong and the beauty of it is he has upgraded things as they have become slower so in some respects it works out very cost effective to do as you can strip out only the bit you need to replace rather than ditching a whole unit.
Cist about the same as a conventional one at the time

Oh no Bubbs, scary! Thinking of you all
It is yes, but fingers crossed they will all be ok
You need to have kids between 5 & 11 for the cheese triangles, and the cheese spread survey needs you to try all four of the cheese spreads listed. One of the spreads was Aldi, so don't bother unless you can get to an Aldi.
Seems odd that they have included the Primula tube as one of the products you need to buy on the cheese spread tasting as there are none on the shelves at all due to the recall!
Here is my referral link for the cheese spread tasting if anybody would like to use it

My ds is wanting to build one ver just buying one and I'm sure he will be fine he's quite into computers but as I know nothing it worries me incase something goes wrong, what if it's the wrong bits what if he misses ... lot of what ifs . My lack of confidence is hindering him x

This is what he's got lined up in the basket! I appreciate you may not want to look at this or have the time but would appreciate any advice. He is 14 and has saved hard for this and is quite capable I'm sure , I think I'm just after a little reassurance.x
I have no scooby on high end gaming parts for about 15 years. However back in the day Amazon was not the cheapest place to buy PC bits.
Also I would definitely add an SSD boot drive, doesn't need to be a biggie.
Not sure if the PSU comes with a heat sink and fan? Also does the case come with any cooling fans? He might need some thermal compound (goes between the cpu and the heat sink). Also check the mobo comes with sata leads otherwise he could have to buy some and wait for them in order to do the build. You are likely to already have a power lead.

Thank you very much, I shall show him this in the morning. I really appreciate you replying x

If you are doing this, as we have, it is worth shopping round as Am4zon are not always the cheapest (though they can be - their Warehouse options are always worth a look as generally just open box/damaged packaging). If you have not done ComSav (see upstairs) then 10% cashback on 3Buyer, eBay, CPCW, plus potentially giftcards to pay can bring the price down further.
Windows 10 you can buy a key on 3Bay for a few pounds.
My dad and step mum arrived yesterday afternoon, it's so nice to see them :-). They're the kind of house guests who are just easy to have around. We went out for a walk once they'd arrived, and today we're all going to go mountain biking π. The sun is out and it's looking beautiful today!
I'm sat out in the sun with a coffee waiting for everyone else to get up. We had a couple of glasses of wine last night which I think isn't helping ;-).
Thanks for the heads up on the Flavorwiki. Whilst I was looking at the dashboard I noticed I had a survey there for the Galaxy Truffles, which is weird as I don't remember seeing it before. I remember it was part of the Lindt survey but I'm sure it only asked me to buy Lindt. Not that I'm complaining!

Then let him research it and have a go...not wanting to put a downer on things but its about encouraging him and yep whilst you and indeed I may have reservations about capabilities or whatever its such a confidence booster if he can do it.
I'm not sure if what I've written has come across in the right way but I remember thinking when DS did his that he might give up and perhaps i wasnt sold on the idea but honestly watching them achieving it is so worthwhile.
Perhaps my resistance came from a different mindset to his in as much as its easier to buy one than to buold it but like with a lot of things its the sense of achievement that you get and DS upgrades his singular elements when needed so possibly its even worked out more cost effective than buying new fully functional things in the first place.
He can pimp up the graphics and storage to suit his needs...i just think with hindsight it was a good project to do...
If your DS is interested let him have a go...

I meant to add something about the wiki stuff to my post. I had the 2 cheese surveys last night completed the spreadable one and it said I'd been sucessful and could choose the products, but when I've gone back into it this morning the survey has disappeared.
From what I can remember the things you needed to buy were around Β£1.50 at T so there was actually profit to be made on this survey if they paid out the Β£3 per product....but hey ho im cleearly not going to buy it now that the survey has gone

Good morning all.
Bubbs fingers crossed that it is the mild version for your niece, and all the family are OK.
Good morning all, flavorwiki have finally paid me for the Tonys/cadburys the grand sum of Β£2.! Does anyone have a screen shot of the offer please, if I remember rightly it was for Β£6. As regards to the referral, do you know who used your referral or does it show as just a payment. I did use someones cant remember whose. Would be interested to know if they paid the proper amount for that as well.

Good morning all, lovely sunny day here
Thanks for the cuppa Roma.
ILTS, at 14 he should be fully capable of building a computer. The only thing that has put me off doing that is sorting out the bios. The worst that would happen is that he could blow a component or two, and that is highly unlikely. If he does he would just have to save up and replace it. It will be good for him, especially if it does not work first time, he would have to track the problem and sort it out. If he was my son I would be fully encouraging him. Problem is I still have to sort out any problems on my kids' computers (30 and 33!!!). If he manages this it will be the sort of achievement that will give him the encouragement to do other things
