I was looking if there was anywhere else I could switch to after doing solo Lloyds. I slso have a FD account spare now they have dropped the 5%.
Noticed Barclays are offering double rewards if you switch in, and existing customers can get it too, so may do this as I’m with them for some bills anyway.
Now, do I switch the new Lloyds (so I can avoid having to transfer 1.5k per month), or get rid of the FD. 🤔
I think in the scheme of things we just have to get used to 2.5% interest as the best we can get.
The odd few new that are 2.75% or 3% and marks at 5% are an added bonus.
I've got a spare account ready to switch once I've reviewed the savings and the life insurance situation again and I've been looking at Barclays rather than Lloyds .... but it would be even better fi their was a reg saver attached as an added incentive.

Just love when topcashback refuse a claim. Carphone warehouse under paid me. Put in a claim and thats been denied. I know a cashback is never guaranteed but it fair makes the blood bills when they renage on it.
Other shameful company of the week TSB. I rejoined so could recommend little miss. I had all sorts of hassle with online banking then she did and was asked to go with ID.1 operator out of six was helpful. One was just downright sh1tty.
I was gonna keep that one for the 3% on £1500 but frankly calling them isn't good for your health. I'll stick with my atom amongst others. They are tremendous.
Company of the week is Ikea. Replaced a wardrobe part for free and delivered. Absolutely brilliant.
Right that's my rant.
Good morning all
Ps this is from my new phone I treated myself. Is lovely and used smart switch app to move everything from old phone. Delighted.
I've just checked my First Direct online account and they have opened my regular saver at 5% interest. I did fear that that it would open with the new rate of 2.75% but it's ok. I applied the day before the rate changed but it took 3 days to open the account. M&S is now the only one left available paying 5%, as far as I know.
Well done in getting in by the skin of your teeth - the rate dropped whilst we were away but at least my FD reg saver is fairly new and not due to mature until June 2020.
I've been having a sort out this week of the savings situation, post holidays and with OH hell bent retiring sooner rather than later
There are a few new accounts worth looking at - this one is apply online 2.5% variable and you can add up to £500 a month so its useful if you are doing advanced planning for major purchases late 2020 - eg child going to uni/winter holiday/Christmas/New year.

My Wednesday nectar offers are in, but I have less than six on each account, none only had two! I've only been going in once a fortnight for the free/nearly free stuff, so perhaps shouldn't be suprised.
Went to sains Only 20p item in stock was an OOD coconut sauce then two empty spaces for soya type milk Usual aisles so it takes longer to browse
Went to T's got the free sauces and then delivered my car to DS who is going to Milton Keynes overnight So this afternoon and tomorrow are stay at home and tidy up days
Isn't it a nuisance ( and that's putting it mildly) when you are in a rush to do an order at Superdrug for windfall Wednesday and they lock your account for 15 mins as you put the wrong password in just once 😡
I've been getting a lot of Sainsbobs till spits this week - several £1.50 off £10 spend, 400 points with £20 spend and 3x points on next shop. All three work together Worth putting a small transaction through first if you're doing a larger one.
You don't even need to buy something. You can scan your card and then just press total and checkout with nothing to pay and it will generate a till spit if you're due one.

Just had a TM type of morning, though not as bad.
We have a job in this evening so doing some prep, patch panel needed labelling so got the label maker out, won't print, appears the label cartridge has gone off (now ordered another), so print it off on the normal printer, use guillotine to cut it, guillotine separates label from backing and removes a lot of the sticky. Go to print another sheet and printer throws an error code that we can't seem to clear, so we have to use the one I printed before. Go to use sellotape as a last resort and it runs out so have to spend 10 minutes finding more.
I just wish we could cancel the job, dread to think what will happen when we get there! Maybe it will go smoothly.
Just hope we can sort the printer though, really do not want to buy another.

Yea, dr gave permission for me to fly yesterday. Now in airport lounge waiting for flight. Downside is medication that he’s put me on means that I can’t have any alcohol for a week😳. Bittersweet as two years ago, got called back from the airport when Dad deteriorated. Hope that the glitch fairy is good to you whilst I am away.

For anyone with successful Ocado baskets being delivered tomorrow on COS there are 3 flavours of Rachels lushious which are free - no idea how you would upload your invoice for COS purposes.
Its on offer 2 for £3 so you might as well buy 4 tubs
There is also Ocado Mature Cheddar 480g for £2.40 which works out at £5 per kg so a useful filler item.
