ive been on my feet all day and they are killing me. The perils of having a stone kitchen floor I guess. I've made soup, biscuits, cakes, boiled beetroot, made teas and lunches for next week.
I've also made batches of soup, boiled some beetroot (love a cooked beetroot butty) and sorted lunches for next week but have missed out the norty cakes and biscuits part
I made broth....dumplings will follow tomorrow π

what did you make foxy?π
Currently got a surfeit of leeks so leek, potato and ham. Then a batch of tomato and roasted red pepper (with a bit of chilli action to liven it up)
Had a roast chicken tonight so plenty left over. Will make stock with the carcass and then a chicken and veg broth with the meat that falls off the bones. I love it when it gets to soup weather

The electricity has tripped in the night for some reason knocking off the electricity to the garage and subsequently the remote control garage door. We can't get it on again from the main box . It's a double garage. The other door is manual but the keys to open it are locked in the car which is locked in the garage.

Have a second think about it. There are normally spare sets of keys we stick away in a safe place and then forget about then. Did you have a spare set? Where would you put them? Freezer should be ok for a wee while.

Oh dear, not good. Have you got someone that is good at picking locks? Are you sure you don't have a spare key somewhere? I have a ring of spare keys in the kitchen drawer. I suggest once you get in there that you remove the keys from the car and put them somewhere you can find them quickly in future, even get a spare cut! Hope you get it solved.

Actually, thinking about it, is there not a manual override on your electric door? There should be, when I was looking at new doors I stumbled across electric ones and they all had manual overrides!

Good morning all, Thanks for the quiz Enterprise. Tm hope you sort the garage door without having to do anything drastic, are there any windows maybe someone could get through?

Morning all - I am wondering if it might be worth having a separate thread for discussion about Christmas gifts - ideas, suggestions, offers, pleas for help etc - stop it getting so muddled with the normal money saving stuff and also helps to avoid any discussions if you are not ready yet to face it.
I tend to find loads of interesting odds and ends but fail totally to think of anything for my own gang

Just came across this offer this morning - Β£20 mystery hamper in a wicker basket - minimum of 8 items and order in October and also include the free shortbread so that's 9 times and the basket, 10 items for Β£20 - I am thinking that if you have a difficult gift to buy it might be a solution. Delivery after December 1st - free returns I tried my postcode and delivery came up as free I cant see this company on any cashback website. (Yes you are paying in advance with an over 6 week delivery window andyou have to worry about firms going under but if you pay with your credit card you should be covered incase the worst does happen) When I find the tape measure I will see how big it is but it will need to be at least a medium sized box to fit 9 items in.

Morning all bit of a grey and dreary one. Kind bar ordered, thank you Elaine π Oh no TM, that's a bit of a dilemma. Hope you manage to resolve it quickly. I think I need to be making another batch of tomato soup today, we're still overrun with tomatoes. I reckon I'll be having it for lunch every day this week π

One slight problem with that mhoc, I was all set to order then realised we will not be home until 10th December! Don't really want something like that hanging around at our local sorting office for possibly a week or more. However, if there was a discount code or somesuch β¦β¦β¦β¦......

Is there any info as to how I get the maximum response out of Amazon please? I suspect the order I shall be receiving later in the week (the "cheap" printer paper from Amazon) may well be short by 9 reams (although I actually hope it won't) and can't recall how to get to keep the item and get a refund? Is it live chat or just an email please?

It would be live chat if it is sold by Amazon, but this seems to be a marketplace seller. I suppose it is worth a try.

Well this will be an interesting one. I ordered this and then decided to cancel when I realised its not an Amazon fulfilment one or whatever they call it. I contacted them twice to cancel but they have not seen my messages or chosen to ignore them and and the paper has been despatced. Hopefully 10 reams will arrive and that will be that or one will arrive and will be a hassle trying to get a refund. Bearning in mine they seem to have not seen my cancellation messages/or chosen to ignore, I wont hold my breath in getting a refund.
